I just wanna say, your priorities are awesome. My respect to you skyrocketed at the end of the video, when you said that you'll skip the planting part and just wanna hang out with the boys. Love that really.
I agree with you completely.☺
Laura always puts her family first.
She and Aaron turned down a TV network deal for the same reason.
Family is clearly her main priority, not money or fame.
Laura, I just want to thank you and Aaron for this channel. You have made this time, with all the yuck in the world, more bearable for me. I'm learning SO MUCH from you and I'm no longer afraid to garden. I guess I've always been afraid of messing it up. Which is just silly. I now have a plan for my front and back yards. It may take years to get there, but it's all about the journey, right? I know we're strangers, but I just love your sweet family, and I wish you every blessing. Looking forward, as always, to your next video.
Well said, Wendy.
You took the words right out of my mouth. One of the things I love most about this channel is she isn't afraid to admit she (and her garden) are not perfect. She will show us the flaws and how to fix them. And she does have the sweetest little family.
🍓🍓🍓
So glad to know you don’t need to seal a crack in the tree! What a great guy to come around and give Aaron a 👍🏻!
Looks great! At the end when you said "here comes Aaron", I half expected to hear some AC/DC kick in 😂😂😂
Didn't you hear it. Or was that just in my head? lol
...and then, RUclips would promptly demonetize this video, lol.
Ha! Same. I was like, where’s his entrance music??
Angela Bartolone Right!🙌🏼😂
😂😂😂🤘 Seriously though!! Now that is all I will be hearing in my head when he walks into a video. 🙈😂🤘
Hats off to Aaron, the tree surgeon! I was so happy and not surprised of the arborists’s glowing comment!
What a GREAT guy to come by! Awesome community!
I find it interesting the way he said to peel down the bark, and eventually it will grow back to cover the cracks, makes sense
So THAT’S how you clean up when things get out of control in your garden and it’s hot and humid. 🥵I’ve just kinda been wishing it would magically happen. 😃 Thanks for the inspiration Laura!! 😊
Same here! I spent a lot of time outside yesterday and quickly realized just how much there is to do.. and it's too hot for me! Lol. Glad to know I'm not alone :)
🤣
Lol! Once the humidity gets bad I hide in the AC and make notes about what I need to do in the garden when the weather gets “better”.😉👍🏻
There’s me sitting watching you do the pruning and I’m saying “yes that looks much better” as if you can hear me!😻
you are not alone!!
Oh, I just did the same😂
🌾💐🌿 I recently moved to a home with 5 acres, I’m in zone 7. The previous owners had overgrown flowerbeds and sidewalk all the way around the house. I have been here 1 year & it’s a total transformation. I went from no plants in my previous home, to walking the flowerbeds every day and looking at such great results. I look forward to what you share with us, we all get so many great ideas from you and your family. Thank you for all you do for us all!
Russell is the best gardening partner. Makes me miss my kitties 🐱 I had when I was younger.
I love when he comes in the videos and I’m not even really a cat person.
Keep up the good work your the best! From Freehold NJ
Love when you do these maintenance videos. Being a new gardener, it’s great to see you plant up the beds, but I have no idea what to do after that, like when to prune, what to prune, how to treat for different issues. Thanks so much for walking through this, now I can tackle some of my beds.
The chicken coop garden is my favorite part of the garden, looks so peaceful.
Gardening South Africa , I agree, this area is like a human size fairy garden! Also watching Laura do some trimming of flowers to make the clumps look more neat, gives me permission to do the same with mine. I always feel so guilty cutting off flower stems!
Animals bring a peace...cows, horses. Our world is so full of noisyness!.. the animals are humble, simple, and content ...
@@debbiewood3819 I could not agree with you more i have chickens, birds, cats and dogs if i could have more i would surround myself with them.
Love those curtains so pretty. Have a bless day with your boys.
Thank you for acknowledging the misery of gardening in humidity! I'm a former CA/OR girl who now lives in VA where we have 90%+ humidity through the summers... It's seriously like walking around in someone's mouth. My garden is on Main Street where everyone walks by so every morning my neighbors see me as a red-faced, dripping, highly undignified lady, they probably don't think I'm the same person who leaves for work an hour later lol! Just wanted to say thank you for making me feel better about how hard it is to work in southern humidity!!
“...in someone’s mouth”. This Iowa girl laughed out loud and your description is dead on!
Grew up in Laura’s neck of the woods, Parma, Idaho. Now garden near Charlottesville. We get out (first) decrease in the ghastly heat going into tomorrow. It is a holiday on my gardening calendar every year.
Your beautiful! ..Especially by bringing the beautiful VISUAL of the garden to each passerby with your labor/care of keeping it...an extention of your personal beauty!!
"It's muggy today"--Texas girls say "bless your heart"
Right? Nothing like 97 temps and 93% humidity!
Ha!! exactly
St. Louis, MO, too! 😉
Minnesota ... welcome to our world of muggy, hot gardening. This year has been especially humid. Ugh!
temps are in the 90's in Wichita Ks but humidity makes it feel 10 degrees hotter!!
There’s something about these cleaning up videos that is so satisfying and makes me want to keep up with my garden too 😂
I listen with headphones and the construction sounds really don’t even register until you mention them so they’re really not bad! Promise!
Pam! Hi.😁
I love the entire video but Russell is so adorable. He follows you everywhere ❤️
Russell in the catnip, “Take me drunk, hic, I’m home “ 🥴 😊😊
😂😂😂😂💜
Loved that part of the video!
That level of drunk always makes me think of the Uncle Waldo, the drunk goose in Aristocats. My favorite in that movie.
Your interaction with Russell is worth the video. I so enjoy watching him play, a bonus to learning how to garden in the small space you have around the chicken coupe. Thank you for sharing🥰
Finally, the curtains 🤗. I've soooo been waiting for that since you opened them up. Totally meant to be there.🥰🐓 I couldn't imagine another covering, seriously that looks amazing.
It was good to see Russell helping out in the garden again. I have missed his antics, I mean seeing him work hard. 😂😻😻 ~ Radhika
I get the feeling the cats haven’t really established themselves at the new property.....you rarely see them over there....
MARIE BURTON very true. Else Russell is her shadow.
Russel forever steals the show, and I’m so okay with that! 😍😍😍
0:42 4:28 The noise may be loud to you, but on video, it is barely noticeable.
How did I manage without Garden Answer every day? Laura’s wonderfulness has changed my life. Excited to see the progress on the espalier and surrounding area. So motivated - I’m going to try one myself in the Spring.
I loved how your hen watched you scratching the Rose tone in... as if to say, ‘hey! That’s my job!’ 🤣
Good morning Laura! I have the same issue in that I need to take an assessment of my garden. I love the cottage garden design. I love the fullness of your garden. My garden is so full too! You are so blessed. Thank you for all that you have done to encourage us during these trying times. My garden is my therapy, and watching yours adds to the peace!
Catherine's Garden of LWS perfect!🥰
...yes! ...Gardening therapy!.. the beautiful plants response! Bless the Lord O, my soul and ALL that is within me, Bless His Holy Name! Our initial; FIRST, Artist/Gardner...
🍓🍓🍓
i looooove russell so much 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 may god give him a healthy long life 💙
This is probably my favorite spot on your entire property! Perfect balance of wild and kept. Absolutely gorgeous! Great job!
I checked the humidity where I live in Southern Indiana just now...99%. Welcome to midwest gardening, Laura. Lol!
the coop and surrounding flower beds are my favorite too!!
Luv, luv, luv your program
"Chicken-esque" Aaron. Already a pro at the Dad jokes.
You could put the other curtain on the door window, those are so cute! I love ❤️ chickens 🐓 too!
I love how Benjamin entertains himself with the chicken coop door ❤️ You make gardening appear so effortless 😊 Look forward to seeing your videos each day.
Too much cuteness in this video, it melts my heart. 😍
Very jealous that Benjamin gets to go to the garden center, and we all can’t come:(. But I’m sure you’ll show us what you bought!
Yes, lucky Benjamin! :-)
Love your roses, I'm trying again even though we have Japanese beetles up here. Russell was really enjoying the catnip and Benjamin was so cute with the 'peephole' in the door.
THE CURTAIN IN THE WINDOW OF THE CHICKEN COOP IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!! I was so touched to hear you say that you wanted to spend time with the boys. Taking it slow and easy is good for you.
Take care and God bless all of you 🙏 ❤
Those curtains are adorable on the coop! Everything looks amazing!
I think the chicken coop garden is my favorite. Thanks for the tip on trimming and shaping roses. Can I borrow your little helper? He is so cute. I love the way the cat helps.
Thank you for explaining the how and why of pruning your climbing roses. I learned a lot and it was helpful to hear how you'll make a grid of twine on which to train them.
Loved this video! Russell is the cutest little "helper" ever! I am loving the chicken coop's surrounding gardens and i'm excited to watch it all continue to grow!
The rose pruning explanation was so very helpful! The easiest to understand explanation I’ve found 🙂
Laura, I'd save the remaining curtain panels to replace the ones you hung once they get faded and worn.
This really put a smile on my face this morning! I must admit I'm glad you didn't get up on the ladder. Maybe another job for Aaron to do at this time? You all are great and such a joy! Thank you!
I was just thinking about those curtains! Glad they are up, so cute :) Russel, bless him, really does have the best life
Nothing better than gardening with a kitty helper! 💞
That cat is magnificent! I'm so pleased to see you take time to play with him despite being so busy with all your garden tasks.
I love these “tidying up” videos! Makes me want to get into my garden and tidy! ❤️
I know exactly how you feel Laura!!! We deal with so much humidity here in Texas!! It’s so awful 😖😖...Russell is indeed a very lucky cat🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
I am learning that a full garden can still be a tidy garden. Thank you for this type of inspiration.
I was so distracted by Russell and Benjamin. They are do soooo cute!! I loved when Benjamin started talking to the chickens...lol. Those curtains look amazing! Love it💗🌸🌷
Good Morning everything looks awesome.Love the chicken Curtains.
Gm Garden answer around the chicken coop those flowers looks beautiful.
Totally agree gorgeous flowers around such a big chicken coop
🤩🤩
I knowwww!!! Chicken coop looks great!! I wish I was the hen in Laura's garden 😂
Raana Azam 😂😂😂
The curtain looks super cute!!!
I love garden clean up videos. I find them inspiring since I often think that I want the garden to naturalize but when I make my mind up to trim and prune, I realize it looks much better.
Labour of love. Your chickens always look like happy little campers😊😊🇨🇦
Such a wonderful complement to know that the tree was correctly attended to. Well done!
A big difference in the big planters!!!!beautiful. The curtain was so pretty.
Thank you Laura. It's strange how watching a person garden can be so relaxing and comforting. I learn a lot from you. I also pray over you and your baby while I'm watching. From your garden buddy in L.A. Rita (RC)
Oh my God Russell playing with the string with his thumb is the thing I needed to see today so cute
Oh, I really love garden maintenance videos. It makes me feel good and makes me feel that my life is organized haha! Thank you for making this video. You should make it more often haha.
I can’t believe how hard you work! Especially being pregnant, I couldn’t handle the heat when I was pregnant!
Pregnancy agrees with you Laura. You have a peaceful calm about you and seem to be showing us so much more of yourself!! I smiled thru most of the video watching kitty 🐱 follow you around. He’s your bud!!
1. Russel is my spirit animal.
2. Those chicken curtains are everything.
3. Your maintenance tips are the best. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing these "clean-up" videos! Inspiration to get me out there and do a little maintenance myself! I am WAY behind on trimming back those perennials. Love the new curtain! I've been wondering when that would go up! Looks so cute. Thanks!
Awesome with the A+ Aaron! I just love the area around the coop, even when it's needing attention. So true, one thing always leads to another! Welcome to our world here in the South, all summer it's that kind of humidity or higher, we're at 93% humidity at 9 am today... Russell is in heaven rolling in the catnip!
You really made my day, Laura. I’ve been feeling sorry for those climbing roses for so long! So they’re on their way to being taken care of, plus the chicken curtain and the Benjamin sighting, all in one video!!! 💚💚💚💚
Love your videos. My nan passed in feb and loved her roses. I noticed her rose garden has gotten a little out of hand since she’s been gone and I wanted to tidy it up for her but had no idea how to prune roses. Thankyou so much for teaching me how to do it. I’m sure she would be pleased with how it looks now. ❤️ keep doing what your doing guys much love!
Hi Laura 🤗 11pm in New Zealand 🌏🌚 We had an established wisteria and my husband cut the whole thing back to just a trunk while I was having a nap ...thought he was helping ...I was so mad 🤨😬 kinda laugh about it now 🤣🤣🤣
It will come back- you can't kill those things.
Awww...sometimes I've wondered IF "he" was helping, or "taking advantage" of the moment? We HOPE the former..,???
You have taught me SO MUCH about gardening that I feel like I should pay you for "classes"!! LOL
Those curtains are SOOOO CUTE!!
.. And Benjamin talking and opening/closing the door in the background at the end... Real life. I love it! 😊
Thank you for zooming in on the cutting of the roses. I now understand how to cut the roses much better.
Laura: The curtains look toile-esque. Aaron: Nods his head like he knows what that means.
Haha. “It looks chicken-esque.”
@@pinkfrangipani5131 lol he's a hoot, er a "cluck"....?
I love those rubber twist ties! We got them this spring and use them everywhere! They’re especially helpful with our tomatoes and cucumbers 👍
We bought some too and they are great!
Where did you get them?
They are excellent. I've used them outside and last for a few years. I got mine on Amazon.
Karen Morse I’ve had those for years, super helpful!
Emcg i found themselves at the Christmas Tree Shoppe!!
The beds around the coop are some of my most favorite on your property! Just lovely. And those curtains. Oh my! THEY ARE PERFECT!! 😍 How sweet was that. How good it must feel to know how much your fans feel about you. That’s one thing I love about this channel. You are such a wonderful family and your viewers seem to be kind. Not a lot of negativity. Take care 😊
Love the way Russell follows your around so he can 'help'.
Good morning! Everything looks gorgeous, oh my goodness.
I love the chicken coup area!! We've been getting really crazy temps and weather lately here in Florida. I can't wait until fall time.
I'm so happy to hear Aaron got an A+ for his work lol You two work so great together 😊 I love watching your channel.. you give us such inspiration
Those curtains are perfection, most stylish chicken residence ever !!!!
Russell is your constant companion and helper!
Did some “hair”trimming on my plants yesterday. It does, look a lot better afterwards!
Laura: What are you thinking about Russel?? Russel: You don’t want to know....
Wicked Cyn he’s thinking about how to get his paws on those chickens 🐓
Way to go Charlette from Sweden with those curtains. They are perfect!! Thank you for letting us watch you work while we drink our coffee!! I appreciated the rose pruning lessons. And, I know first hand how hard it is to work in the humidity. In central Illinois, it's a gift if it's less than 50%. ALL. SUMMER. LONG. Way to tough it out!
Laura you’re my Gardening hero 🤗 It’s like the curtains were meant to be there, they are perfect! I’m so glad the sun wasn’t too hot today while you did maintenance. And Russell looked like he was in sheer heaven on that catnip. Every time I watch your videos I want to go to my gardening center 😂 .
Oh my goodness your cat is so cute!!! I was surprised to see how far down you cut the veronica and valerian - clear to the ground! Will they put out another flush of blossoms or are they done for the season?
Hi Laura love those climbing roses. Unrelated question- how many chickens do you have, and are you planning on getting more? Thanks.
I think she's down to two. She should get more. From what I've seen of others who raise them, it takes several years to get the situation down where you don't lose as many as often.
...and is Russell the culprit that was digging in the ground at the corner of the chicken coup? Just curious if you figured it out😁
It was a racoon or skunk. They have a video.
it was a skunk :)
@@seanaames6855 thanks. Must have missed that video.
Those chicken curtains are absolutely sweet. They fit that setting perfectly!
Enjoy the day with Aaron & Benjamin !!! The Chicken coup garden came out awesome.
Hello, beautiful garden one of my favorite areas of your complex. Are you finding that spider mites are attacking quite a bit this year? I've never had so many bugs eat my plants before.
I had Japanese beetles on my crape myrtle. First time I have ever had them.
@@carlaradke4066 a new house is being built by me. They planted six crape myrtles, all the same type and color. BORING!, lol. There are so many new colors and sizes. What a shame/missed opportunity.
@@carlaradke4066 Very difficult garden year for sure.
At 6:30a (when I watched this video) the humidity in zone 6 Tennessee was 95% 😅
I was thinking the same thing. And I know she has to water a lot more because it’s so dry there, but it hasn’t rained at my house in weeks, so the humidity is high but everything is STILL drying out!! 😩
It was 100% humidity and NOT raining the other day, thank goodness the temp was in the 70's. Greater KC area. We have had the hottest summer this year.
97% humidity here on Mississippi Gulf Coast...even in 70% humidity I noticed the difference in your hair, Laura. Now I understand (low humidity) how you can work, seemingly for hours, and still look great. In our constant high humidity I always look like a drowned rat when I’m done. 😂
I'm also accustomed to 10% humidity, my first introduction to 100% humidity was when I went to Disney world, and it was 95 degrees. How is that possible?!? I should be under water for 100% humidity. No way I'm messing around with that. I have away my park hopper pass (I fundraised for it) and I chose indoor pursuits that week.
I love the chicken fabric, it all looks amazing!!!💕🐓🌸🌼
Great video! Thanks for the tips on cutting the roses. I loved seeing Russell and of course Benjamin! 🌱💕
Russel clearly needs his own Instagram! I'd follow him... 😻
Girl, you're pregnant 🤷 you remember how the brain flips. Give yourself a break. We're all wondering how you do any. Without being pregnant.
Awwe,... pregnancy, its the pampering, lazing-around that brings problems...I didn't treat myself delicately while pregnant...when that precious life arrives, I'd better be in-step, cause time is gonna be traveling!....condition ourselves for the long haul of raising children! Keep active!..we're really not meant to be so pampered, ..not princesses!...
I was just thinking that. She’s supposed to be mellow....so she basically cuts down half a tree and moves it. Lol
@@raeperonneau4941 😂me too
@@debbiewood3819 I thought exactly like you! I was too active and my baby was born premature. That little voice in my head was telling me I think you should rest. I wish I had listened. I suppose every person has different needs during pregnancy, but I feel the need to tell pregnant moms to listen to their body.
Your videos bring me so much peace. Thank you for doing what you do and sharing it with the world
We love ❤️ to see Russell on the videos my son runs to se the video every time Russell is around. He said he wants to meet Russell some day ❤️👦🐈. We are cat lovers. Thank you for all the videos Laura I enjoy them every day ❤️🌺🌱🌹
Those chores I call ‘lady gardening’....no dirt, just making it pretty..
Laura, I just love your videos and love seeing Benjamin, Russell and love what a beautiful relationship you and Erin have. God bless you and your loved ones.
You are so blessed! I left a garden I had created, when we sold a couple of years ago, to go on my husband's "retirement dream" of full time RVing... whoever the sweet lady is that sent your chicken printed curtains is so thoughtful!...bless her! .... the curtain print is very beautiful and appropriate... have a fun day with the boys..I'm from your area....best part of the country! Carry On!
Great video! Love that you pause to play with Russell! Oh and the catnip - so cute!
Love how you just take us along like you're working with your good friend!! Except, I find myself wanting to be helping you with one chore while you do another. lol. Of course, it's always good to learn from what you do as well! Thanks for bringing your friends along!! ❤️
Russell is such a sweet boy!!! Oh the curtain is soo cute. Charlotte did a thoughtful job sending u the chicken curtains.
Sometimes you can listen to someone and not hear everything. All this summer I have noticed Laura talking about air flow and paying attention to that with my plants & garden has made such a difference. Always learning, which is what I love about gardening and Garden Answer videos !
Russell is such a kitty - cute, curious and happy. Benjamin is adorable as always, with his little diaper showing, lol. Cracks me up when you say plants are "mangy" looking😄. Enjoy your family day!
