Britain did not start or invent slavery, but it was the first to end it. the British Royal Navy ended the north Atlantic slave trade in 1807. America didn't end slavery until 1865.
Its a flag that we use to represent us as a country. It really isn't that deep, and no its not racist or offensive. Lets not let these warped individuals force their own disgusting ideology of "history bad" on everything please.
The Welsh dragon flag has only been around since the 50s. Before that, rightly or wrongly, Wales was represented by the Cross of Saint George as part of England.
It's a flag and if it offensive to you then the term anglo saxon is probably offensive to you and if that the case your just racist towards white poeple and specifically English at that rate I am surely aloud to start saying the black African american decent word simples
Assuming that you are asking a question, then no, the British flag isn't offensive. Anyone that think it is must be well balanced by having a chip on both shoulders. Further, if that flag is considered offensive, then so must every other Nations flags be. Take the plank out of your own eye so that you can more easily remove the splinter from someone elses perhaps.
its not the jack as its not on a ship, its generally shocks me how so many people don't know this, a jack is hung on a jackstaff which is on a ship... also we didn't start the slave trade? the portugease did... and how can the flag be "offensive" if its associated to the empire, how is that different to any other country? France, spain, portugal, germany, russia, italy and even the US? its not really fair to say an entire person's culture is offensive and wrong, if you say that to us then how is that different to someone who bars you from your culture in a place like africa?
That's a common misconception. Whilst it does have naval origins, the name 'Union Jack' predates the term jackstaff by 150 years and since 1908, can be used to officially refer to the national flag.
Its not offensive - saved u 10 mins
Thankyou, it's soulless content. Like AI with the intellect of a BBC Radio 1 presenter.
Depends who you are
Thanks . Appreciated .

the British Royal Navy ended the north Atlantic slave trade in 1807.
America didn't end slavery until 1865.
England ended slavery in the 12th Century
If it offends you, good 🤣🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Land of hope and glory is what i hear when i see the union jack
That’s what I’m saying
So much of this video is factually incorrect.

You make a whole video on the union flag, then use the wrong one instantly. The one shown at 0:06 seconds is from the 18th century ffs.
As someone from a former British colony - no, it isn't.
Union Jack is offensive, because it has no red dragon :D

The current Welsh flag is from the 50s but it's roots are from the colours and symbols of the Tudors and Henry VII in the 15th century

Ha ha Britain didn’t start slavery. What a load of bs
So Britain started slavery?
Yeah slavery existed before Britain was a thing
When I see this flag i think of Britain.
I don't really care about Western politics and stuff that happened 70 yrs ago.

It shocks me that 123 years after it was changed, there's still people like you saying "It's only a Union Jack if flown from the Jackstaff of a ship"
Sadiq khan is that you
🇬🇧
It's amazing how much of this video is inaccurate bollocks.
As an American, I feel the same about the American flag. History matters.
wow...
America has been a force for good...
delusional idiot.
Nice video
