This is the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen anyone make. My God.
I couldn’t imagine someone taking the time to make something, even close to this, in my memory. What an honor for your godmother

That is the most beautiful memory book I’ve ever seen. And the stories about your aunt…so endearing. My 96-year-old mother died last year. I have many old photos and memorabilia. You’ve given me some great ideas to do a similar book in her memory. Thank you! And I love the matchbook…ingenious! Please share more, and keep narrating the stories. I love the stories!

I'm grateful RUclips suggested one of your stitching videos to me today. I'm guessing it's because I follow one slow-stitching group (Roxy's Journal of Stitchery). I'm not a stitcher...I am a junk journal enthusiast, but I dabble in slow stitching and using fabric in my journals. One of the gals I follow in the journal world attended this same workshop last year in Vienna. Her name is Barbara. Did you happen to attend that same workshop? I thought her memory journal was so amazing, so I was instantly drawn to this video of yours! I'm a 65 year old American.
I must tell you that your flip through of this stunning journal was totally captivating for me!! I won't bother to try and find adequate words, but it's the most powerful memory journal I've ever seen!! It must be such a treasure for you and the process must have been quite the emotional journey!! THANK YOU for sharing such a personal work of art with us! I could have sat for hours, listening to your gentle, and English!,😊 voice talk about the book and your aunt for hours!! You left me wanting to know more about her & your relationship with her! Thank you again for sharing it in such a loving way...on your lap...as if I was sitting next to you! May the fairies still visit & bless you!❤

Thank you so much that is so sweet of you. I actually took Alex's online course after finding her on Instagram. It would be lovely to do an in person course with her one day. It was a very special few weeks creating the book, I worked on it nearly full time. It was like spending time with my Auntie again. ❤️ PS my daughter Lily actually filmed me, she is 19 and was named for my Auntie. 🥰

I had an Aunt Lillie, too (probably spelled differently).. my Mama’s oldest sister.. I’m very connected to her memory.. Mama was the youngest of five and I was the youngest of her five. My 2 older sisters were inspired by our Aunt Lillie’s cooking and were also excellent cooks..Her house is still in the family..
I am ‘left’ with so many wonderful memories bc my family told the stories of their past.. I’m grateful our sons knew them bf they (now have) passed away..
    Your work inspires me..
    Thank you!!

This brought home how much was trashed when my Nan went into a nursing home. I have two pieces of furniture and some ornamental oddments but very little her daily life.
I also learnt that you and I are close in age as I was born in 1967, so things you refer to growing up I can relate to😀.
Do you intend doing any dye videos? If you have and I’ve not spotted sorry for question. Your reference to buddleia (cannot spell at this moment in time and no correction found by algorithm) flowers giving a gold colour in other video was new to me. That’s a project for next years list.
Thank you for showing your memory book, it was lovely to see and hear her story😃

Although it's not possible to see very much of the contents of your "keeper of memories" book - I have to confess it brought a tear to my eye. 🤦 I have been keeping "memory boxes" since I was about 10 and I realized that I have scant material going back in time - sadly my Mum was living in England and developed Dementia and got it into her head to get rid of photos - I remember most of them and can visualize the album the older ones were in. This has made me think "if not now when?" I shall make a journal like that for my daughter and perhaps also write up what I can remember of those photos and past times generally. Big love from Scotland ❤️ and sorry about the long text - like a stream of consciousness outwith my control 🤦

Hi Kathryn, I’m very very new to this but I’m in love! I love my ragged old planners and anything crinkly , old raggy cloth so this is right up my ally ! I’ve already got some bits that I found after going through bags of stuff I got when I bought my machine off an old quilter. I’m so excited to start! I don’t know how to widen a spine but do you have a tutorial on it? Your aunty’s memory book is so beautiful. What a wonderful way to remember her. I have some very old French pieces my grandfather got for my grandmother when he was in France in the war. I am around your age so as you can imagine, quite some time ago now. I also have a beautiful old cotton and lace nighty ( precious ) but now I can immortalise them in this way. Thank you so much for sharing and thank you so much for replying. Noni 🦋

I have a couple of tutorials on making books with cloth covers that give the basic binding technique I use but I haven't done a journal from an old book on here yet. A friend recently gave me a fabulous but falling apart children's book and I am planning to make it into a journal or 'artist book'. It might be a few weeks though. The other tutorials are in the tutorials playlist. ❤️❤️❤️
