I would say for anyone who has never tried phở chiên phồng, it tastes very similar to the "Beef and Broccoli" you would get in Chinese restaurants in North America. It's immediately what I thought of when I first tried it! That and phở cuốn were two of the first things I tried when I moved here to Hanoi. I've gotta try those colorful ones though!

MAN! I never heard of anything in this episode, and now I want to just LIVE on that street for awhile. Fried fresh rice noodles looked sensational, you could do all kinds of stuff with them, probably just sprinkle on some salt or seasoned salt and just eat them. Good deal, I'll probably watch this one a few times, since I don't know when I'll ever get to actually see any of this . Ah, we can buy beet powder by the pound here, for this kind of thing. I think any missing essence of fresh beet might pass unnoticed once you get the fish sauce and calamansi involved. The young lady seemed very funny and ... tolerant, which might be important. I hope you are asking her: "so, what else is around here? How about this other stuff on the menu?".
