I love that you do the small details. I know a lot of people look over small details, like the seat belt press buttons and bonnet rubbers. Keep up the great work.
As always hittin us with that new part fitment satisfaction! I have SO MANY brand new parts rubbers and bolts to fit on the VH SL/E. Man I cant wait! Hopefully the anxiety of dealing with new paint doesnt dampen the experience lol
Hi mate nice video just to let you know why that drives door won't open its from the security plate in the door next to the lock take it off and it will start working had this problem before
Not sure if you know this but the little seat belt button seat belt buttons that you replaced you could do East you could have just run a heat torch or Oxford heat torch or oxy over it to bring it back to new
Just a quick hint, if you should ever decide to swap the clock instrument cluster for the tacho cluster, you can't just plug and play, you'll need a slight mod to the printed circuit board on the back of the tacho cluster. That's if you can even find a tacho type cluster anywhere. I had a VL myself, I always loved the look of them but mine was a rattle box, literally full of rattles. In then end I traded it for a VR the minute the VR was introduced to the market. I loved my VR, best car I've ever owned.
Those jacks were awesome! Had them on the vk aswell. We just use the single wheel brace as an extension in the hole, can’t remember if it had a specific handle?
If you do buy the new scuff plates from Rare Spares, use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften them when putting them on or they will crack and split at the top.
You might already know but be a bit careful with using those factory jacks, they love to tip into the door if they aren't dead level when you jack the car up
@@MindieJ Before jacking up you need to make sure the jack is leaning away from the car, that’s what the angled section of foot plate is for, then as the jack raises it tilts over on to level section of the jack foot plate and the jack shaft goes vertical. The L-shaped tyre iron used to remove the wheel nuts is slid into the jack handle and used as a lever to operate the jack.
I gotta do some of these things on my vs especially rubbers all sun damaged clean the doors fix up my accelerator pedel or cable its grindy on the foot its weird and those lock plastic with the red strips should be quite nice then
Boss if it ain't the ignition barrel it's the LS alternator you swapped in it's a 3 wire alternator b+ goes to battery then theres 2 pins left one of those go back the the b+ post on alt and the other goes to a dash globe if it's not wired correctly it can keep the car running with key off from just the alternator itself I noticed this in the last video when you had the original loom just going straight to the alternator and that loom could be completely different to what I mentioned
one good thing about the domestic cars is that you can actually buy rubbers and strikers and lights etc. Import world fucking sucks. Its either new OEM or its NLA. Cant even buy new headlights ffs
FFS I was driving my vl today and noticed my faded seat belt buttons, NOW I MUST CHANGE THEM thanks alot 😄😄😄 hahaha love the videos mate
Thanks so much for the tip on how to change tabs on the seat belt stalk. 👏
youre welcome

its all the 1%ers that make a good car

So sick that you finally got a VL loving these videos mate! Not fussed at all however long they go for.
Appreciate it mate
These type videos are my favourite 👌
Glad you enjoyed it James
You nail the small details everything! 👍
I try my best
Just confirming what others have said already the wheel brace is the missing piece to use the factory jack 👍

Fuck I've learnt a bit Im gonna go do the same you've gave me a idea 😀

Last for a little bit then back to stuffed again, these were also almost tuned to powder, heat gun ain’t gna fix that
keep pumping the videos out mate been watching you for ages by far my favourite aussie car content creator
Agreed
Thanks guys really appreciate it
When you have door cards off it’s probably a good idea to fish oil the crap out of the inner door to prevent future rust from dirt and crap build up
Another tough build mate
i wouldnt say tough haha
@@MindieJ faster then my r33 mate. Tough
Did you try heating the old ones up with a heat gun?
Keep ‘em coming mate . Love all the content.
Thanks James
Been waiting for this Chris 🤙🤙
The wait is over
loving these videos brother very informative, great for all those vl enthusiast out there
Thanks Jonny appreciate it mate
Love the simple replacements, very cool
Hay my key was doing the same u are write but the part /broken bit you can't buy I had to find a second hand steering column to get the part out of

No I won’t be changing the cluster to another stock one
You're not the first to be caught out with the bailey channels haha... Top work mate.
A massive pain in my a*+
Loving the videos, wished they went longer haha.
Perfect video mate, with enough detail 👌
Keen for the next one

Thanks for the heads up
Battery terminal screw is the best bit
Came factory like that in 1987
And now I find myself detailing the buttons on my seatbelts lol 😂
good girl
Same jack as the VK. I can remember using it on my VK Calais RIP
Can’t wait to watch this vid! 🔥
Well hurry up!
Are we getting rid of the blue top battery... ?
yeh eventually
You might already know but be a bit careful with using those factory jacks, they love to tip into the door if they aren't dead level when you jack the car up
Yeh I’ll literally never actually use it haha for that reason

With the rubber kit you should have bought the spray they have which makes it 100 times easier to put in and it keeps them soft so they don’t crack
It’s just silicone spray, which I used to put the new ones in
So is the xe clip the same as vn mate can only find xe ones ???
global trim sell VN ones
My VL was a full BT1 rebuild from ground up. If you need pics for where original parts go etc... Hit me up - have a tonne of them ;)
thanks mate appreciate it
idea for the jackstand get it Galvanised. would look new again and last forever

Thanks mate
Try hitting the seat belt button with a heat gun the heat will bring it back to its original colour
The plastic is too far gone, you can see it's turning to dust.
Yeah no good
Heat gun brings them back for a few days then they go full again, not a long term fix
Yeah oh Worth a try 👌🏾
How do we get in contact with you
For what?
You probably have worked out that your tyre iron [nut remover] is the extension for your jack handle, Cheers
It sure is
Spot on 💪

Did it well before I even bought the car as shown in the videos
You might need a resistor on the dash globe wire maybe it's still sending volts back to alt bro
I showed what the problem is in the video
😅

I am still so confused.
Are they VK intercepter SL hub caps.
They look awesome
VL Berlina Turbo caps, as mentioned under your last comment
Did you remove the rear windows to do the bailey channels
Nope done with glass in
and now rare spares have released fuel tanks
Waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive for my wallet
Did you get seats they disapeared off Gumtree...
Nah definitely not me
See they do new hdt style seats for them too...
Let’s go favourite Wednesday video
Thanks James
