- I really was hoping that someone on here would know what two songs Richard is performing here, and if they can be purchased from him in one way or another.
I recognize the first one as a variant on the great old Son House "Preachin' Blues," but I am unsure about the second.
Anyone know more about these?
Richard looks pretty young here, so this must be from at least ten years ago.
Ive seen Richard plenty of times and part of his magic is that his repertoire is enormous. I've noticed that he can transition between whatever songs fit his mood or more to the point, the mood of the crowd. There aren't many people in the world that can work a crowd into a frothing sweating dancing mess like Richard Johnston can...
Just saw Richard Live in Sturgis. He played his version of War Pigs and magic happened that night.....unbelievable blues and a unfound talent waiting for the picking!!
awesome le groove de se mec awesome
Best blues man alive, since ever, to me.
Hey, thanks!
Richard sure rocks on this, doesn't he?
@PinkOld The first song is waling blues and the second song is come on in. The second song is on his foot hill stomp cd. Second question is yes he is John Lowe the creator of the Lowebow. John and Richard created the Lowebow together some years ago. If you go to Richards website you can buy his cds or you can buy them off of beal street when he is playing.
@JohnnyLowebow
Major respect to you for your creation with Richard.
He sure can rock out on it, that much is for sure.
My blood♥️♥️🤗🤘🤘
@RemoSC49
You're quite welcome.
Richard is one badass bluesman.
This is fantasticcccccccccc woh super i do hope you will come further love this so much very good work.
@BlainePistolle Sorry to hear that.
I really love blues, especially the old delta guys...Lemon Jefferson, House, Patton, Wolf, Waters, R. Johnson, etc.
I search this video since many years !
Man that's the best blues i've heard ... awesome
The second song is a version of Catfish Blues, done by many Mississippi players - the famous version done by Muddy Waters was called Rolling Stone....and some things got named after that one
He looks like the kind of guy that when he's old and sick and wasted looking, people will see this and say, "You know what? He wasn't a bad looking kid when he was younger."
Yay!
Someone finally watched this.
Thanks for that bit of information.
Richard really is kicking ass on these songs, but I still am unsure of what they are called or where to buy them.
That Lowebow playing was INSANE.
btw...are you THE John Lowe, the creator of the modern Lowebow?
"Come on in" for the second song !
Don't deal with the devil,Just play with your tripes , that what Richard do
Might be come in my kitchen by RL Burnside or who ever made the original, the second song.
This is the same year that Richard won the IBC.
the second song is real bad devil...by RL.. I think.. but definitely got the song right
Thanks!
I agree.
I'm blocking him right now for this.
Sorry, I shoulda caught it sooner.
hehe
Dunno...I gather that Richard is married, but I doubt he ever had any problem getting dates before that.
