I cried so hard- I’ve always have loved Oprah and I’ve loved and listen to Jamie and follow her. I watched The old 💜 movie and remember feeling the same as Oprah as a child-that I watched on TV that a child was abused in a movie accept I am caucasian. I am currently letting go - surrendering again revealing another layer of the vails of another life story -Again- and forgiving myself and others in my current situation. As she describes that second we stop resisting and letting go and letting god/universe use me and work through me. Time and time again it’s a journey through each challenging life lesson and figuring out what you need to learn. I love how these women are so open and real about themselves. They help others to be honest and willing to be vulnerable, be supportive and strong. We are truly blessed to have them in our existence. Much Love
Jamie and Oprah! What a spectacular interview. I’ve heard Oprah tell those stories before but I was still glued to what she had to say. Her voice is so calming and peaceful.
What I found so inspirational about Jamie is that she never tries to impress, is her natural, vulnerable self and has a very full, generous heart. It shines through in everything that she does. Jamie has no guile. It is beyond refreshing.
Of course an Oprah-Interview is pretty spectacular but I want to acknowledge your amazing studio and your dedication to making your dreams a reality. Jamie, I see you, too. 💜
Going through a very hard heavy heart wrenching dark, broken Christmas.😢🙏🏾💔 Without, my beloved adopted mom, the second one, and missing my late father also, along with heartbreak even isolation within the grief. 😢🎄😔 I personally needed this dose of an encouragingly moving, Oprah conversation. ❤️🩹🙏🏾😢
Jamie! Please interview Jada Pinckett-Smith! You both published a book by the same name and both books are amazing! It will be such a great and "All Things WORTHY" conversation!! Thanks!! 👏🏾👏🏾✨✨
I didn't realise Oprah could sing. What a soft and gentle voice. I love to sing and how lovely to hear her. sweet voice. You kept that wee secret well. Thank you. Its a great voice for a quick prayer by the way.
I so enjoyed this and needed to hear what was being said. I have loved Oprah since I first saw her on Channel 5 news here in Nashville all those years ago. I knew then that she was destined for greatness. Thank you for this interview.
I feel so blessed to watch the two of you on a Xmas Eve as I was getting ready and putting my face together literally with “it” under eye for a gathering in the evening. So surreal!! Love the feeling !! and yes, my ticket for opening day is ready! ❤️❤️
Brilliant interview. Thank you for sharing all your memories and insights from making the original Color Purple. That the process of doing the work is the reward. And that as soon as we surrender our ego and expectations and what we want to happen for Gods plan for our lives, then everything that is meant for us will come to us. I love Alfred Woodward yet I couldn’t imagine The Color Purple w/o you. Once I experienced screenwriting for myself, I knew I would do this for free (and I did, and I’m still trying to, but I need food and shelter). I never wanted to go back to a job. I want screenwriting and producing and making television to be my life. This was so affirming. Thank you.
This was beautiful. @Oprah Thank you for sharing how you surrendered to God and the importance and power in that. I needed to hear that. @Jamie - thank you and I am excited for your upcoming show! 💜💜💜
I feel like Oprah was actually quite vulnerable here. I usually feel like she’s nothing but polished. Never fully let’s us see HER. I understand why. But it’s also a real privilege to be let in to her real feelings and the real pathway of her life. I just rewatched the OG Color Purple on TCM and ALSO was struck with the same line as Oprah (in both book and film) that ‘A girl ain’t safe in a room full of mens’. I’ve always seen my story on those pages, too. *I Dk this woman and clearly she’s successful and very very wealthy - but her little-girl, deferential tone and demeanor are quite off-putting. I can’t imagine listening to her podcast.
Agreed. I have never heard Oprah speak at length about the “failure” of Beloved-or more accurately, of her Ego attachment to its success. *Also agree with you about this podcast’s host. Not sure who she is. That little-girl, deferential tone will be hard for her to discard, as it will have been set long ago. Ironically, she conducts this interview by hardly speaking.
If Jamie is affiliated with O - I will have nothing to do with Jamie. Too bad because I used to like her when she was selling her cosmetics on a shopping channel. Be careful Jamie because you are not in good company.
@@somoslamedicina if they are speaking of the God in the Holy Scriptures the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob ...that God is not the universe...He is the Creator of it...
Sadly, I have lost all respect for Oprah since the Megan interview. I always thought color was irrelevant to her, in as much as, see people as people and all the colors just come together... Nope, she segregated it, single handly by making the stupid comment.... What! To perceive what was said, in that way, told me... Who the r**** was 😢
Let the work be your reward. Don't be attached to the outcome. Thank you for those wise words Ms. O
Yes, this touched me , too.

So true, her interview with Ed Mylett about the friendship with Oprah and the unworthiness makes this interview EVEN MORE SPECTACULAR.

I like the fact that they dont interrupt each other. The late show hots are notorious at interrupting their guests.

Interesting interview. Oprah is always inspirational, empowering and true to her focus in life. I’m not so sure this is Jamie’s calling. We will see.
The weight comments resonate so much with me. It holds me back all my life. Such weight discrimination everywhere. Now, Oprah is thin too…
Step into the dream God has for you.

Why do you say this about Miss Oprah. ? I'd like to know,
God is not the universe..
That’s all you got from that? Let the JOY of hearing the bigger message touch your heart more than making things right or wrong.
