Pablo Picasso once said: "The meaning of life is discovering your gift. The purpose of life is to share that gift." Oprah has fulfilled both. I am the same age as Oprah (68) and fully understand that feeling of "age is just another trip around the sun". I am alive and looking out on the world just as I always have but my body changes in such a way that other people start to treat me differently. My wife passed away just 4 weeks ago which has caused a major T in my life and will take some time to assimilate. However, I know I now have a new path to follow and I know her soul will be watching over me. Thank you Oprah for keeping on, keeping on. You can never retire from your life's purpose

This was beautiful. I can relate to being seen at school or work. At home I was criticized and compared to my siblings a lot. I was also the oldest girl of two - but I felt as though we were treated different. My sister was loved softly and I was shown tough love and pushed into my masculine working energy and having to defend myself at such a young age. As I go into age 27, I've been reflecting on how to let that part of me go and appreciate how far I've come. I've had many mistakes, but I know that it was meant to happen and my value is determined by me & only me. My parents were fkd up & it's sad, but I can't hold on to those memories forever if I want to heal.
Hey beautiful! It sounds like you are on the right path to healing and becoming whole. Those experiences that you faced are and will continue to work together for the greater good. Never suppress those feelings or try to erase the memories. Face them head on and know that without them, you wouldn't be the woman you are today! I don't know if you are spiritual or not, but I'll use this example; Jesus needed Judas to betray him in order for God's word to be fulfilled! It's been 5 months since you posted this, I hope and pray that you are still on your journey!
