I know a lot of people won’t agree with this, but as an aspiring filmmaker, Zack Snyder is a huge inspiration for me. I love the way he shoots and the stories he’s able to tell simply through visuals. It would be my dream to one day just sit down with him and learn from him in person how he directs and pick up tips

Keep this Snyder School up please! This has been super helpful so far as a filmmaker who looks up to Zack and his style of making movies and to gain a lot of insight on what goes on in his head while creating the things he likes really means a lot. For real, the way he goes into detail about his process and what he wants to see while shooting is just so engrossing and it's very -- what's the best word -- inspiring! Like it's the "12:23 AM-right-now-and-I-want-to-make-a-movie-in-low-light-with-only-my-kit-lens-and-nothing-else" level of inspiring. One of the great things about Zack's movies are, even though it's a CGI scene, he always uses real lights that fits the envronment when the scenes uses CGI. The lights weren't generated by the CGI itself but from real lamps. That's a great way to make the lighting seems natural in the scene & I think it helps the CGI crew to check on how light or dark the scene is supposed to be.
A true artist that inspires me every day. I’m currently in the process of making my first short film and these videos are nice to fall back on for inspiration. Thank you for these, Netflix and thank you for treating your filmmakers the way they should be treated.
I like how inventive Mr. Snyder is when trying to get the effect he wants to record. Mr. Snyder is an inspiration to people wanting to make films, I've always wanted to make a film with my scripts and maybe star in it too.
Watch High Flying Bird too. Steven Soderbergh shot the whole movie on an iPhone 8. Just get Filmic Pro on your phone, shoot at the right shutter speed (and get some ND filters for your phone, which are out there) and you can make a cinematic movie asap.
@@TomTomXIV dude it's meant to be plot holes since they are setting up a universe. Movies are meant for entertainment and this movie is full 10/10. Honestly Zack he nailed it on this movie. In terms of zombie movie it's completely new and fresh and I totally loved it. Not typical zombie movie. And finally Zack he's getting recognition for his work. Tbh I wasn't his fan at all but now may be, his work is magnificent and I liked the way he put all details into it like Easter eggs. Media used to hate Snyder for no reason but now it's other way round. Love it or hate it but man of steel was phenomenal not typical superman movie which I enjoyed it from start to end. People didn't like it because the way media portrayed since media were anti Snyder but in reality story was written by Nolan he just directed but if movie was directed by Nolan then everyone would have praise Nolan. How many of you saw the "Larry is magic" on the billboard in the film? Larry Fong his regular cinematographer is actually a practicing magician. What a sweet way to pay homage to a master cinematographer.
As someone who's been cinematographer of 2 feature films and many other projects: its super impressive he pulled focus "off the barrel" aka no focus puller at 0.95 f/stop . I've found myself doing that on many occasions when the focus pull has to be very precise. My 1st Feature film several years ago I used an earlier RED cinema camera and the lens mount detached halfway through filming. It couldn't be repaired in time so we kept filming with me pulling off the barel while trying to hold the lens mount in place 😅. It work out ok and got me mentiond in Variety magazine for my work which they said along with the composer was the only redeemable qualities of the film 🤣
Love the passion this man has for what he does and it's so awesome seeing him experiment with new things and the artistic choices he makes. Thank you Netflix for this.
My respects to Netflix. They are supportive of Zack Snyder, they let him do his thing, they saw how awesome he is as a director and they saw what a good guy he is. Everyone who works with him loves him. I don't even know him personally but I'm happy for him. I hope this is the beginning of a long partnership.

You know, I would LOVE a whole film masterclass by Zack Snyder. He may not be an Oscar winner filmmaker/director, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a whole process of his style of filmmaking. I know his passion for filmmaking is genuine. I appreciate this 13 min video though. You get a good grasp of what some of his process is like.

This movie really is incredible , I watched it 5 times already. It’s a film that really does get better on each watch , I really love it .. I think it’s great. I really like this, because he is talking as if speaking to film students, rather than just the most general way to people that are not interested particularly.
This is the first movie I saw in a theater I. Over a year. Had a huge screen and auditorium to myself. I loved the look of the film and thought it worked great with the story. Love this series.
Also WB:let’s just rewrite this perfectly fine script with a bunch of Russia dialogue and a Russia family and hire Josh Wheldon to flim that with stunts of gal got

Put aside what you may think of the quality of his films you cannot deny even years later his films are still talked about a lot be it in a good way or bad.
