      @@RCPropaganda Yeah, they're a pretty hot item. Of course, they are metal, so....more weight up high. Just what you wanted, right? But, they are a smooth powder coat like finish, and they won't break...like one of mine did, while doing a barrel roll all the way down the hill, after tipping over. And yes, yours tips over easily, as well. I noted that in another one of your videos. If you don't have the trx4 sport, you just don't have a comparison. It's not a bad truck....just more of a trail rider, than a rock crawler. I actually thought about swapping everything but the steering servo, over into my traxxas. I already have the traxxas 400 ounce/inch servo in my sport. I dunno....the axe system is smooth as Kentucky bourbon...but, I already have a pretty good brushless system in there, with the Hobbywing 1080 Quickrun. I want to get a flysky receiver, so I can use the FS-GT5 radio with it. No end point adjustments on my Traxxas radio, and the new servo has a little more travel than the OEM servo. My front wheels chatter at full lock at higher speeds.

  • @SnarkyRC
    @SnarkyRC 4 года назад +1

    When I had TRX4 I could not stand the stock ESC. I swapped it out for a Carisma ARC-2 crawler ESC. It's like an upgraded Hobbywing 1080 but, with more settings and a much better drag brake.

    So I've got a Gen 8, and while I haven't wrecked the gears in the portal axles, I ~have~ broke the axles themselves. I don't know if it's because I set it up for rear wheel steering, with a front axle mounted on the back, but my rear axle busted right next to the steering knuckle. Blew out the axle itself, and the steering knuckle as well. Had to replace both, and decided to go with some aftermarket all aluminum axles and knucks, which will hopefully hold out better than the plastic OE axles.

  • @bradledger3347

    Just recently got a RedCat Gen8 Scoutt ll and the problem I found with the stock tires & foam is that the foam is just a little bit to big and needs to be trimmed down on the outside edges to allow it to fit in the tire better and allow for some sidewall flex. and for the tires the tread is to close together, I went & on the two rows of tread in the center of the tire one row on the right & one on the left & cut the knob out on the left skipped two ( same row ) cut the next out & went all the way around then did the same to the row on the right. Cutting out the knobs allowed for space between the lugs allowing them to get a better bit on stuff. And it made a night & day difference & maybe only took half an hour or so to pull the foam out of the tires then trimming the tires while the foam was out on all 4 tires & the spare tire.

    The problem with the redcat is that it’s not an axial or Traxxas or vanquish. But the good thing is that it’s not one of those and you can get used for way cheaper.

    It does seem like the trx4 went through considerably smoother.

    My friend has a TRX4 truck. He does not have the Bronco. He removed the portal axles, because he said they raise the center of gravity too much on the truck. What are your thoughts on this? Good idea?

      It is true, but it depends on your goals. You can do other things to try and add weight low to help with high center of gravity. I like portals but I am not one of those guys that says you have to have them.
