Sometimes it is what it is! Good observation 🤝 it’s like stepping on stones with your feet, stay in front of the rig and watch where you’re putting the wheels
So here’s my opinion I am not biased towards any brand. I own a axial scx10.2 a Redcat gen 8. And a trx4 bronco! Every one of them has their Strank‘s and weaknesses. My axial is better for actual technical rock crawling. My GEN eight will literally go anywhere if you get rid of that international body. And the TRX four well it does everything well. Overall for ease of maintenance and replacing parts I would go with an axial! If you want overall performance AXIAL is the way to go. If you want something more scale with locking front and rear differentials then the TRX four is definitely the way to go. If you want the best of both worlds and you are on a budget the GEN 8 is a excellent choice... and the GEN eight can keep up with every other RC crawler no problem. Only issue with GEN eight is breakage issues on the axles.
with the V2 gen 8 axe edition out now there is no question for the money and value...pretty much all RC crawlers out of the box you would eventually choose upgrading tires/foam to your liking.
I would actually go for the Gen 8,,,the traction is amazing,,,looks like it has proper weight distributed,,,but mostly the way it grabs and holds is good...

I left the hobby like 4 years ago. Until then I owned every single Axial vehicle. What bothered me the most was their way of suspension travel. Way too much. I had to slam them to the ground right out of the box just to be more in scale. 😄 But all in all I like them both. To me the CC-01 is the best to stay in scale. 👍😀

As someone who’s owned both trucks, the Gen 8 is a super super nice truck but the 10.2s are unbeatable. I’ve had 3 gen8s and 1 10.2, the gen8s just can’t compare to a 10.2 .

@RickysGarageVibes My tiny hobby shop has a gen 9 scout today in stock. It's a bike shop too. A green gen 9 in stock is a very hard thing to not be walking out with. $370+ tax. Axial SCX10 is more stable
the scx10 is a real good crawler
Axial ALL DAY LONG. The redcat is probably your fav because the parts for it are alot cheaper. I wouldnt run anything redcat, thats just embarrassing to admit that you have one lol.
I'm not in a competition so we'll try any truck .. will get the new RedCat Gen 8 Axe next. We have rigs quite a bit more expensive than RedCat or Axial
check the parts that come stock on the Gen 8 axe ... for the price and I'm not tied to any brand, judging from my vids I have a lot of RCs from a lot of brands and some I haven't even posted yet
Axial needs to pull their heads out of their ass. Put a better body on that Gen8 and it will run circles around the scx. Axial is getting left in the dust by the competition.
I have 2 Axials (Wraith and 10.2) and a Gen8, they all do the same thing. I have broken more parts on the 10.2 though. Plastic just seems a bit more brittle.
