Thank you so much for doing this series. I know it's a ton of work for you, but it brings us all so much joy to see you every day and follow your (sometimes wild) ride through NaNoWriMo. I appreciate you so much, and while I'm going to miss having a new video to look forward to every day, I hope you get a chance to take a breath and to relax a little and enjoy planning out your 2024 and beyond! I'll miss seeing you every day! Hopefully you can recharge a bit now, though, you give so much between Preptober and Spooktacular and The NaNo Diaries, but we SO APPRECIATE it...I get so much joy and motivation from you. Yes! Finally caught up with the series. Amazing job as always. You have an amazing way to inspire people and I can't wait for all the wonderful things you're creating. I'm so happy I got to meet you in Raleigh. Right now it being the beginning of the end of the year I know my life is about to make a big change. My fiance and I are moving in the next year and that means my whole life is the era of 'beginning of an end'. There's a lot of hope in the future, a fresh start and a new place to thrive. Thank you for all of your honest and wise advice through everything.

My last day of NANO I had to write 17,000 works and I did with two minutes left. This is my first time winning nano!

I've incorporated a "penalty" phase into my reward system a while back. Because getting a reward is great, but I can rationalize not having the item/reward NOW, so I can do without it later. However, I have a lot harder time GIVING UP anything. So, depending on the size of penalty, depends on my penalty fee. All my paid penalties go into one of our savings accounts. So, while I don't want to pay a penalty, it's not the worst thing ever if I do lol
Congrats on 50k! I got to 43k and am counting that as a win. Your vlogs helped me get through the month, thank you ❤ enjoy the Scribe, I use mine all the time and it's wonderful!

What you said in beginning reminded me of back when I was in high school and my history teacher saying about how many stories get lost that needed to be told (after people have passed). He was referring to veterans but it was so fitting to think of that today, how we all have stories inside of us that need to be told no matter how long it takes us to go from in our heads to paper. I remember you mentioned something similar (I think it was in one of this week’s vlogs, can’t remember which) but I don’t think it fully “set in” until today ❤ Thank you!
2024 is going to be an awesome year!
January is busy for me since that is when our state is starting the legislative time. I do disability work in Maryland as a volunteer. I am a volunteer with People On The Go Of Maryland which is a self advocacy group for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The work will be hard and busy, but I am so ready to get to work on the disability work! Your books are my favorite book ever! They have been such an escape with my family living in a war zone in Israel. Thank goodness my family is safe at the moment. I have cousins in the Israel Defense Force on the front lines.Your books take me to another world where I don't have to worry. Thank you so much for writing the Shadow Demon Saga series! I love it!

You might like the remarkable tablet more as you can accidentally annotate directly onto any pdf instead of the sticky note function on the kindle scribe. It is a bit of a splurge but I've heard really good things.
the NaNo diaries have been great as always, and I can't wait to see where your writing goes as we move on from here

I could never finish NaNo as November is just too busy for me lol. December is too. After a nearly 3 year hiatus, I am excited just to be writing again. Still dealing with brain fog and lack of focus due to low BP, but any words written each day is a win for me. Happy for everyone who won NaNo ❤

I'm *so* glad there will be a true Sunday start! This is the most important thing to me, since my weeks always start on Sunday and it's such a pain to always be covering up and changing days and dates.

I like to see the realistic process and as I get more and more life experience the more I really understand the joy of rest and immersing myself in all the awesome projects I have going on. When I was younger I was only restless! (No rest, no projects, when only thin you have is restless energy.) Growing up, is finding ways and tools to be able to work and play with the whole that you are, and I have got many tools from your videos. Thank you!

I loved the experience . I have never written a story before and as soon as I 've learned about Nanowrimo, I decided not take a shot on. I admit that I was ill prepared because I was too excited about getting into something new to me hence my sorry being a monumental mess that I'm trying to fix. However I don't regret anything, I have really things from it and you and it's kinda weird that Nano ended .oh , I got your demon saga on Kobo. I didn't read it yet because I'm currently reading Cucoo 's call right now.

I so want the Kobo Elipsa 2 (Kobo version of the Scribe). I know you can annotate in all ereaders, but I'd so much prefer to write then type notes
Writing is all about having faith in the future. That's why my 2024 phrase is gonna be Faith in the Future. Congrats again on winning NaNoWriMo and thanks for all the motivation throughout the month! Good luck with TDOVS!
PS: You should get something with a butterfly on it once you finish that book because I believe that's what the name Vanessa means. Just a little something to remind you of that journey and a little reward for finishing the book.

I can't wait to hear more of how you like the Kindle Scribe! Also I was wondering why you decided to do Ream as opposed to something like Kindle Vella? Just curious. You are such an inspiration and well done with Nano! I'm so excited for future videos!
It's possible to do both and I might, but Vella is US only and I have a pretty global audience first of all. Second, I really am more interested in the community aspect and don't want to necessarily get into a space where I'm writing one story infinitely. I want to write a variety of projects and get feedback, host Livestreams, build my newsletter etc. Vella is not really about community growth as much as just reading the story without any interaction.

I need to start thinking what my planners for next year will be😅 but I'm so excited for all the progress I've done even if I haven't reached "The end" on my story zero draft by the end of the year because I'm proud of the over 50k I have already written on the First Draft and the many more I hope to transcribe and add to it before the year is done (then I can start with book 2 right?😂😅)
But I am hopeful I will have more time in December than I did in November because I want to figure out a schedule that works around my kid's school schedules to do all I want and have to do❤ Big hugs

I have never read any of your books because I have to buy them and my dad has to scan them and I will have a book in three or four months at a time, so it's difficult for me to have books. I was wondering: your story Red, your novella, can I read it without having read your books? Where can I download it? And where will you post it? Could you post it on Wattpad, too? So I could read it there for free. Could you do this favor for me, please? I thank you in advance..

I have never used disc bound planners before and it was your channel that introduced me to them. I promised myself a Happy Planner as a NaNo reward if I hit my target, and I did! I didn't surpass it because I ended up with the flu and that just knocked the wind out of me. But my Happy Planner arrived and it is GROGEOUS. I am going to use it to track revisions, and I made a bunch of cool witchy-crystal planner pages in Canva (happy to share the link to the templates if you wish!) But I have a question: do you have a recommended hole puncher for the big sized / 11 disc version? When I order on the HP site, it was sold out. If I purchase elsewhere, will it still work?
I love the idea you have for rewards and deadlines and I am probably going to mention it to my partner and see if we can implement something similar.

I do have a question. You won your kindle scribe for winning nano. Congrats. I was wondering you can or happy to do a video with not only your experience with the kindle scribe and how you use but if it is worth it. I am in the process of making a decision to buy one. It would help if knowing it worth the money and what you can use it as an author. It okay if not. Just thought to ask about this video idea. Not sure if you are still even using it.
I am so glad you hit 50K!🎀 Your NaNo vlogs helped me stay motivated during my art block and simply playing them in background while writing made me feel like writing with a friend. ☺️
Sadly I only hit 40k before deleting my account after I found out about the NaNoWriMo scandal and I got pretty shocked and sad.
Oh that's too bad! I don't even think anything has been confirmed about the scandal other than accusations, so I'm not really one to jump to judgement. So many lies online, I like to be certain before I judge it. But I understand and respect your decision to put some distance there.

Not anytime soon. I'm working through Demons and TDOVS has 9 points of view so I feel like it's a more complex project! But maybe if I find the right person for it
Quit Nano after 5 days of trying to squeeze the story out - it just didn't work for me this month. But I am going to attempt Janowrimo.
