Synopsis:

This whole series, time and time again when it counted, she never really bothered to try to understand the pressures he was under, not really. Every decision was always about his relationship with her, nevermind the huge responsibilities he had or trying to understand them. At his most vulnerable and hardest periods in his life, those times that really counted, she wasn't there. Only later. But, it was the good memories he had of her that he kept coming back.
In all fairness he wasn't there for her either - he was always running off and leaving her to help the other tramp - so he can't really expect much more from her after all the crap that she's had to endure from him and others because of her association with him
@@annetterawlings4549 I also agree with that. I just think it seems, that more often his considerations are less about himself and more for others - which has detrimental effects on his own relationships, than the FL's more self-centered considerations.
But he never told her what he was going through but just decided to break off with her instead of telling her his problems. She could have stayed with him during his difficulties if only he shared with her.
@@adeleschannel5834 like when she gave him an ultimatum about making him choose between her and the rest of his responsibilities, including the idiot girl he had a sense of misplaced responsibility for that she (FL) obviously knew about without considering the stress such an action would add to it all. I mean, what was there to tell at that point that wasn't already abundantly obvious? She left him because at the time he couldn't prioritize her before everything else already going on in the short time they had together. I mean they're (his family) running a huge business. It's not her place to understand his "business", it's her place to try to understand his "life" and hopefully be there for him. She chose not to and left. The seven days he gave her at that point, was him buying time to try to really sort out what was happening within his business and in turn his life. I think with his dad's death and the circumstances around it all, he was seeing very little value in himself and questioning the value of their relationship then. Really, she had left him. Women probably won't see it this way but, I think when things get rough a man stops to look around himself to see who's walking beside him, even behind him, and that's the "moment" men judge "their people" on. For him a t that point, she wasn't there.
I would never have handled shit the way he did. To me, it could've been more considerate and thoughtful from the start. But, throughout the series he got better and strived to do things right, to make things better for everyone and especially towards her.
Also, really, what did she do in the story that could've been done better, too? I would say, be more openly honest, forthcoming, a bit more patient, more considerate and less selfish in her reflections. Otherwise, why not just move on? I know why he didn't, he was fully vested in loving her, financially, physically and emotionally. The same can't be said for her.
@@adeleschannel5834 most of the time he kept her in the dark to protect her other times he actually wanted to explain but because of her personality she shut him down before he got a chance. Some of his own problems could have been easily fixed but he was more involved in cleaning up her messes too. They are both equally to blame for the state of their relationship. That being said it also doesn't help when she continually believes all the dribble sprouted by others instead of trusting him, and vice versa
I think there's a lot of people who tend to misunderstood He Xiaoran, calling her as self-centered and too tough on her bf but I like her character. She has always been an independent woman. When they're dating, he also did gave his best in their relationship but it didn't change the fact that his actions of always ran to help his ex-gf kinda gave Xiaoran the impression that he didn't really prioritize her in his life. She has been tolerating enough for his sake bcoz she believed that he really loved her but then he went and broke up with her. He carelessly gave an excuse like he only dated her out of boredom so even though she knew he was lying, it was still a hurtful thing to say. Of course he also sacrificed a lot for the people that he cared especially his family and Xiaoran herself but Xiaoran didn't know that bcoz he never told her anything about himself. Besides, Xiaoran was used to getting hurt due to her longtime unrequited love for him so when he wanted a break up, she decided to move on while he was getting stuck in his memories of her.
I totally agree. Both ML and FL are giving people, but Xiaoran had to be tough. She bailed/healed herself and wants ML to be able to do the same. He wears his heart on his sleeve but he never confided in her about his problems which caused this break up..among other things. He didn't trust her and that hurt and pissed her off. She is still helping him but as a friend. She's working thru her pain to be his friend. He should be grateful she's not spiteful nor vindictive. She understands him and that's more tham he got from his own family. He's lucky, he just doesn't know it.
The big problem in this is their friend feir they are being manipulated by her.
Some people like to give hugs, others like to be a shoulder to cry on. FL has always had to rely on herself to get it done. She couldn't be soft like the scheming friend who always relied on the ML to bail her out. Since it's been over 7 yrs, these yrs have only made FL tougher. What may seem to be cold or less empathetic on her part is actually her showing the ML to be stronger. She's allowed him to be vulnerable with her and trust her. He knows he can trust her to help him even though he's hurt her. She does have a tender heart and she's shown it but he's gotta build that relationship back with her. She won't let him sink she's just not that touchy feely girly. She's shown him her heart now she's wary to do that again, but she can help him. This is one of those times.
