The neighbours don’t complain about the music, but those pyjamas are loud enough to cause a riot. Merry Christmas to you, family and loved ones. Have a great one! Belated congratulations on your 100k subscribers. 500k soon.
The Unobtanium has been my main drive for the last year or so, great pedal! (I got it for free with a giveaway, lucky me😂) Thank you for your videos John, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas John! PLEASE try this in front of the Boss IR-2. I would love to hear the Dumble side in front of the Fender amp setting in that pedal.
I have 3 pedalboards, my main one, a fly rig and a mini board, I have an Unobtainium on all three. I love the versatility of this pedal and with an extension I have 3 overdrives in one pedal. If it’s good enough for Pete Thorn to have on his board, it’s certainly good enough for me.
It really is a great sounding pedal. Still thinking of getting one sometime. So, I'm really surprised I have never seen one on any pedalboards yet, at least in NYC, which is weird w/ all the great reviews it's received. I hope to see that change and hope that many of the viewers are loving playing one now. Doesn't seem to be gaining traction in the market. Hope I'm wrong!
Nifty design, that. Looking forward to some Mad Professor units - the Supreme and the Simble double drives in particular. Strongly considering the Wampler Pantheon for a test-drive.
Love the Christmas tree pajamas. Beautiful fat yet clear and crisp tone here. Well done Matt. Got some lovely DAddario acoustic XS Phosphor bronze strings for Christmas that make my Coleclark acoustic sing!
The mod only really kicks in at higher gain. And you can buy a small footswitch to change from SS to OD. I have it and boost the internal switch so you can have more of a level boost in OD mode. Great pedal, especially stacked. Great value for money, don't regret buying mine.
Can't wait to hear your opinion about the Kernom Ridge! I wasn't sure either then I got one and couldn't be happier. Basically every OD in one with some nice controls
I don't need a Kernom Ridge review because I've got a Kernom Ridge but I'm not convinced by what I've seen of the Moho so I'd like to see something on that.
That's a great demo John ! Would you be tempted to see how this pairs with the Boss IR2 ? Could be a perfect and versatile little setup for live.. By the way guys and girls, the people at Crazy Tube Circuits are lovely, genuinly interested in helping finding the "sound and setup Graal"..
@@johnnathancordy looking forward to that ! Man, your playing and sound truly do what music does best for the heart and soul 🙏🏾 Sometimes when I need to hear something that I just know is gonna put some light in the ears and heart, I just put one of your intros on. Thank you for that gift ! 🙏🏾
I’m guessing the feel must be something special, tone-wise it’s not vastly different from what you’ve gotten with your stomp - I think we’ve just gotten use to great tones anytime you have a guitar in your hands. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
After the hi power I’m considering this a bit for a future purchase, I’d like to see you throw down a bit with this and the hxstomp using the zen drive and see if it is really worth the bother.
I’ve always found “the Dumble sound” and “the Klon sound” to be the same sonic neighbourhood (they both seem to be all about producing a very *smooth* overdrive with very tamed trebles), so this is an interesting combo, but maybe not the best idea? Kind of like adding a midrange-boosting overdrive to an already midrangey amp?
I've never played through a real Dumble or Klon, so I don't know what that's like. Unobtanium is a 2 stage overdrive with an insert between the stages. I set my amp to edge of breakup and it does the rest. My favorite overdrive.
Obviously I'm not you, so I get how you like that bony-toothy sound of the blue K line (?). It sounds throaty and 60's ish especially on the neck pickup, but personally I prefer the sound of your yellow K- strat. It sounds fainter and more delicate or woody, and the (apparent) lower gain output makes it bring out less of the pickups and more of the body/neck of the strat... like a more fifties sounding strat... more detail and top end. Of course perception is in the ear of the beholder, and I'm only guessing based on what I hear over the tube, but your playing is more subtle when you plug it in to my ears. Hopefully next year will be as much fun for me to listen to your wonderfull licks that start all your videos. I would listen to any talking you do even if only to hear your dulcet tones at the start each time. Keep up the good work, and I know what it's like trying to play guitar with a new baby, I've had three, and was at home caring for all three while my wife worked ( earning more money than I could) so I hope you have as much joy as I had with my precious ones ( all in their twenties now) All the best to your family and dear ones for the coming year❤️
Not a good representation of the pedal, having someone that could make a pile of junk sound wonderful 😂. Well done man! I’ve got one and I’ve enjoyed playing with it. I found that with all the drives on the market, if your into that sort of the SSS/Klon tone, the is a pretty good representation of both. I compared it with the KTR and the Vertex SSS and it was surprisingly close. My personal preference is a light overdrive with a clean boost on one the side KOT, then something like the Kingsley Page on the other for the push - which probably makes my taste for this not fair. If it’s the kinda sound you’re hunting for, and need the board real-estate, this pedal is for you, in my opinion.
I bought it and it didn’t work for me. Sounds fine, but nothing special in my opinion. And the worst part is the fact that the Klon side is placed before the ‘dumble’ side. If you really believe that the Dumble side is a real amp, then it makes sense, because the amp is usually the last bit in the chain. But it’s NOT an amp, it’s just another overdrive pedal with a frequency range that would make some people think it’s reminiscent of a Dumble amp. But again, it’s not an amp. I’ve always liked Klon type pedals AFTER other overdrives, not before. It doesn’t work for me at all.

That is a fine set of PJ’s there … very classy, you could gig in them 😂😂😂
Outstanding, as always, Johnathan. Would love to see a video on your backing track production process.

I have this pedal and it's incredible. The best sounding dumble overdrive I've had in a pedal.

Great pedal. So much fun and good range of tones.

Christmas attire is amazing
Your playing constantly impresses me. Always tasty and interesting. The gear is nice too.

Totally superb pedal! I combine it with a cornerstone TS10 and I can play anything with it. The alternative voicing switches make it trully versatile
Feliz Navidad, JC!
Merry Christmas! Sounds amazing as always!
Nice PJ's!! They match the pedal...
That's one festive outfit, but you pulled it off, Rudolph. Merry Christmas 😊🎄🎸

Love the Christmas attire.
Jaw dropping playing as per usual
Try running the dumble side into the FX loop of your clean amp or modeller, using the SSS mode on a low gain setting. Kinda gets you that glassy sound
My favorite drive pedal
Leisure Suit Larry makes an appearance.!! Haha 😅
John can you make a video showing your processing to make backing tracks like you do? Software, Hardware , using midi controller?
After the hi power I’m considering this a bit for a future purchase, I’d like to see you throw down a bit with this and the hxstomp using the zen drive and see if it is really worth the bother.
I remember you have some video of how to set up the modeller to sound good in a real guitar amp&cab but I can't find it again!

You can keep the pedal but not the Christmas outfit. That's on loan. 😎🤓 Very nice playing
It would be cool if you could make a Helix preset like this pedal!
intrigued by this backingtrack, have you a link for free or purchase?

hey john, merry Christmas, wondering if you were ever going to try out some cheaper multi fx pedals like the valeton gp100

IF it’s actually a Klon and a Dumble.. I don’t have $100,000 lying around…😳
Has anyone tried an actual Klon pedal into a Dumble amp? I'm guessing someone has. Does it sound like this?
Not me... pedal is great though. I have 2 and gave another as a gift last year.
Honestly? The ODS legends Tonex rigs you demo'd sounded better for me.
Folks have to be pretty naive and gullible to believe there will ever be a Dumble in a pedal.
