Good luck with the motivation aspect of this project - I'm sure it becomes a slog to go out there and problem-solve relentlessly while it's cold & raining! I for one am enjoying it tho!

which seat fits caddy parts on, and which parts? greetings from Sweden😁

    • @BeardedBuilds

Lupo, Polo mk2, Golf mk1, Golf mk2, Golf mk3, Golf cabrio, Jetta mk2, Vento, Ibiza mk2 and mk3, and Caddy mk2 a lot will fit. VAG group used a lot of similar parts, if it looks the same it will fit👍🏻
From most of these cars the engine etc also fits, many engines have the right bolt holes to use different engine mounts. There are 2 types of engine/gearbox cominations. "Wide" and "small".
Golf 1, polo 1 and 2, seat ibiza 1, lupo etc are small, they have a small engine bay.
Golf 2, golf 3, jetta 2, ibiza 2, cordoba, cabrio and caddy have a bigger engine bay. So these engines fit very easy.
You can do this engine swap without welding but you need more parts and have to look for solutions in other models from VAG group or delete more from the swap. I need it as original as possible to make is easier for the new registration check in the Netherlands to keep it road legal.
The VAG group used so many of the same parts or with the same bolt holes/paterns, you can build them like Lego's!
Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy the build!
      Greetings from the Netherlands😁

This is Seat Inca, but it s almost the same as Caddy Mk2, I ve Caddy Mk2 with 1.4 16V shitty AUA enigne that I want to get rid of, but I don't think from Your previous videos, that steering rack needs to be swaped, also brackets for coolant, I can see that also You re using old Inca steering aid reservoir, so it s like mix ;) My plan on my van is also to put in 1.8T ARZ from Golf GTi Mk4 that my friend is throwing for junkyard, and also swap the front from Polo that I ve also for spare parts :) I can see that You made conversion of the brakes, but maybe the front is worth it ;) We ll see how it ll go on my project, because it s nice car and not so many more seen on the roads, especially with 1.8 T ;) Good luck on Your project :)

      Hey Piotr,
You are correct, its is a Seat Inca. Its 99% the same as a Caddy.
I'm using 100% from the Cordoba Cupra because I have a whole car to use and its easy. You are correct in the parts you need and want to use yourself. Its all like Legos. But the Golf mk4 uses different engine mounts, they are on the frame rails and not on the subframe. I believe you can use 1.8 mounts from Mk3 and Mk2 but not sure. Also the gearbox is different and ofcourse drive shafts, you just need to do some searching for parts and on the internet. Im positive you can do it!!
The front brakes from the Caddy original are smaller. The ones from the Cupra are 280mm in the front, same as G60 etc so thats a good upgrade. The rears you can easely do as me but not 100% needed as the Caddy drum brakes are pretty good and bigger. Im swapping even the ABS so thats why Im doing everything.
You are going to do the same as a 1.8T swap in a Golf mk2 or Corrado, so look how guys do that and you will be succesfull!
Thanks for watching and you comment!

      He Sjors,
