Tequila is a origin denomination drink, it used to only come from the town of Tequila in Jalisco but I think they broaden the area. I’m a Mexican myself and loved your channel from the beginning ❤
Thank you for what you do!…with the knowledge you’ve given, even just knowing about watches, makes for an amazing conversation starter, even when I don’t have a watch on…🥃cheers!!
My favorite part of this is your commentary about his father and how you don’t sell your father shit no matter what at least that’s how I took it. I agree hats off my man.
My dad had a 6263 just like that one. His dad got it for him in the early 80s because my dad worked at a cable company and he needed to be able to time between commercial breaks. Over the years he wore it less and less and eventually decided that he didn’t want my siblings and I fighting over it after he was gone (he’s doing fine, just thinking about his future I guess lol) and decided to sell it and buy a Rolex for myself, my sister, my brother, and another for himself. I got a Daytona, my sister got a Cellini, my brother is on the list for a Pepsi GMT, and my dad got a 42mm Yacht Master. Mine is a watch that I will never depart with.
This is the way to go. That's what I would do as well. Let everyone get a piece to remember you by, and honestly, bonus points if it isn't worth $100k. It's not a painting or a stock portfolio. It's not about the money!
I’m not a watch guy but would like one nice piece for dressing up. I just recently found your channel and love to listen to you speak about watches and share all your knowledge. But my favorite thing is you advocate for watches to be WORN!
I know this is antiques roadshow but this is the reason why I watch guys like Nico & Roman they bring so much life & energy to an industry which can appear dull and reserved for the Elite....
You will love this Nico…..was watching The Transporter 2 starring Jason Statham recently and I noticed something I didn’t notice 18 years ago before I had gotten into watches! The titular Transporter at the start of the film is wearing a Panerai Luminor Daylight, you get a clear shot of the watch in one scene because an alarm that sounds sounds like a Casio F91W beeps right before he raise his hand and apparently pushes the top pusher on the chronograph to stop the alarm! Ridiculous! 😂
I would honestly sell that watch and I'd tell that guy to do the same. Especially since he's looking at a life-changing amount of money on a watch that he's sharing with his brother and possibly can't afford to lose and replace. Maybe that guy is very wealthy and can afford to own and insure a 100k watch and wouldn't be too broken up if he or his brother lost it, but most people are not comfortable with that amount of risk and would just put the watch in a safe where no one gets to wear or appreciate it. I would sell the watch, take the 100k, buy me and my brother each brand new $15,000 Daytonas in dad's memory (which I would then never sell), and use the $70k leftover to improve my family's lives or security. That's what dad would want, in my opinion. Not to have a watch in a safe that you pull out at Christmas just to show off.
That’s his prize for getting a Master’s Degree that probably cost him more than the value of that watch. The only way he should sell is if it’s an important family expense or to pay for one of his kids to get a useful higher education.
A Master's in art might not lead to the most lucrative employment opportunity. I trust he's going to make the best decision for him and his family, but most folks with an advanced degree would love a little help paying off their student loans.@@john-paulsilke893
My granpa left me 2 of his Rolex watches after he passed, took care of it like a baby wore it when ever I could, and the day I decided not to wear it to work as I work in a hospital , thieves broke into my house and stole them, broke me not because it was a rolex but because it’s smth he left for me. Till today I am devastated, always wear them.
An arts study can be a LOT, for example, design (designing logos, fonts), or art history, or restauration of art (painting, fabric, woods, buildings, statues, etc).
I and many others would love to see a guide to vintage midrange watches(like Tissot, certena and the likes), as well as best bang for the buck watch brands.
It would be hard not to sell but if I was financially stable and set I would put the watch in a safe place have it insured and wear it on very special occasions. That watch is only ever going to appreciate it will never go down in value.
Nice watch, I would never sell it. I still have an old Tegrov watch from my grandfather. It's swiss made, it is not automatic. I think it is a cheap swiss brand, not existing anymore, but I love the simplicity. It has a little magnifier above the date and that's it. Is in working condition, the acrylic is a little scratched but is ok. I love this kind of videos. Every watch has a story.
Looks like that watch has a problem tho: the chrono hand has ran and been stopped. The minute counter is on 30min sharp (so either 0min or multiple of 30 minutes), but the hours counter is more likely on 10 minutes pass the time of chrono activation. So either the minute counter is broken or the hour hand is misaligned... By the way I had a colleague that was going around, very nonchalantly, with a 1665 DRSD, I noticed and asked about it, "It's my father's watch, you know..." and then I told him to look about its value. He reached me after few days, with a different watch on himself, and told me he had absolutely no f****g clue that thing was so valuable :D
Love this channel, just started binge watching. Can you explain why people think they can pass off fake watches when they know people like you will call them out.
To my knowledge tequila can only be called tequila if it’s made in a certain region in Mexico, similar to how a champagne has to be from a certain region in France. If your agave liquor isn’t made in the correct region it’s considered a mezcal, correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s how it’s decided
If you're in a struggling position I'd understand if you just can't afford to turn down a huge offer but be real, the watch and the sentimental value is worth more than the cash
Bro wearing any watch in the subway is a risk, but imagine 100k watch. Now he probably will put that watch in a safe and keep it there for the rest of he’s life. Unless he decides to get a Tesla.
You see, I like watches , don't know why really, but I really treasure watches that someone gifted me. I wear a Casio Waveceptor that was given to me by my dad, and would not trade it for any other watch. Hope the guy does not sell it, as it is a true time piece.
I’m grateful to you for introducing me to a passion I didn’t know I had.

I didn’t even notice he wasn’t wearing a watch at first, that’s funny I also feel embarrassed when I forget to wear one haha
I feel naked without a watch; bath/showering/sleeping are the only times I am not wearing a watch, without exception!

Tequila is a spirit made from 100% blue agave in a certain region of Mexico called Jalisco.

When he made fun of the guy laughing after he heard the value 😂😂😂

If they really must sell it, not a bad idea having both Daytona's in his Dads memory, with money left over. Seeing as they have to share this one.
