The S8 pro ultra has a drying feature for the mop build in the docking station. While the S7 maxV does not, it does have a module you can buy for it though it's something to keep in mind that you need to spend extra to have that feature making the price closer to the S8 pro ultra. As an upgrade from the S7 I wouldn't see why anyone would upgrade.
As for me I can't really decide it's a really close choice. I'm still on the original fist Roborock, the Xiaomi vacuum. And looking if I want to upgrade to the S7 maxV ultra or to the S8 pro ultra. It's a tough choice the difference is a good 300 euros. The drying module for the S7 is a good 100+ euros so the real difference is less than 200 euro. It's hard to judge what the added value of a newer product is with limited design changes but better implemented features...
Yeah it a tough choice especially looking to upgrade from an older model. If you are a pet owner the redesigned Dual Brush Roller are very easy to clean. As for cleaning vacuuming and mopping performance, I give the edge to the S7 MaxV. Also the robot is slightly cheaper. If you like the additional App features like the live camera feed and 3D Maps then choose the S7 MaxV.
for 200 euros you can buy drying and plumbing module for S7 MaxV Ultra
I just bought my s7 max ultra a month ago. At first, I didn't know if my choice was the best one as I was considering between s7 max ultra and s8 pro. But now I knew that I was right. Love my s7 max ultra.
Great info Nathan, thanks!!! :^)
Thank you Buddy 😊
Will the old channel pfp return? The one with a plush on roborock S50
I like the front facing camera. I know there’s privacy issues but when my robot gets stuck I’m able to connect in and usually drive it off of whatever it is stuck on manually.
Never thought if that scenario, but I can see how that can be useful, or for finding where the robot at.
Hi all! Im having a tough time choosing between the S8 Pro ultra, Deebot X1 Omni and Dreame L10S ultra. Price seems really steep for the roborock. Not sure if it would really last? Which one would you guys choose and why? TIA!
Hello, the best bang for your buck is the L10s Ultra. It cheaper and offers more features than the Roborock like the video capabilities from the camera. I would also look at the T10 OMNI which is basically the X1 OMNI minus the auto Refilling Water Feature from the Dock. If you are set on the Roborock model take a look at the S7 MaxV, offers more features and felt like the cleaning performance was on par with the newer model.
Nathan my S7 MaxV has super loud gears (sounds like an RC car) where as my S6 was silent. Is this a defect or has Rooborock resorted to using cheaper gears?
I assume the loud noise is coming when you run the robot vacuum on the max vacuum mode. It shouldn’t be coming from the gearbox, as from what I can tell the gearboxes have similar loudness across the different models. Roborock designed the S6 to be quieter, so the vacuum motor housing and exhaust vent has extra sound deadening material according to Roborock. Both the S7 MaxV and S8 Pro are very loud at their max level.
@@RobotMasters No not talking about the vacuum engine, I am talking about the wheels. They are super loud and I find them annoying. My S6 was silent.
@EagleStriker I see, does it sound like there something stuck in there. Has this been happening the day you got it? I can't recall if nylon aka plastic gears are louder than metal gears.
@@RobotMasters since day 1 the same annoying RC car noise
@@Eagle-Striker Hard to say for sure, I haven't noticed any Robot Vacuum I use to have a very loud gearbox.
Hi Nathan, as s8 is extremely expensive so actually is company giving any guarantees on how many years we can run it smoothly. As we have not enough money to purchase after 2/3 years
Typically a robot vacuum will last 3-5 years if they are well maintained. I have heard iRobot robot vacuum last close to 10 years. The main thing that needs replacing other than the consumable items it the battery. Depending on the manufacturer this may be a easy or hard thing to replace. As for warranty the robot itself is for a year and sometimes the Motor good for 10 years. I would recommend buying a model from Costco if your area has one. Good return policy, should anything happen.
@@RobotMasters so you r not recommending roborok s8 in that case as it's longibilities is not that high, right?
@Fahmida Afrose I can't say for sure, I still have the original S5 which is going for 4 years
@@RobotMasters OK thanks, but can you please give me link of costco? It is from which company?
@@RobotMasters N my main thing is mopping, so how is irobot brava z
Do you guys think Roborock will make an S8 MaxV version?
There a few new Roborock models coming out this year, one a MaxV version.
@@RobotMasters afaik there are no news for maxv only MAX version which has no obstacles avoidance of any kind
The new Ecovacs T20 is better for me
I am still debating whether to upgrade from the S7max V. The dual brushes… dual mops… Tell me what to do Mr. Robot Master!!!! 😢
Personally I would keep the S7 MaxV if you are still happy with the S7 MaxV. The cleaning performance wasn't any better than what I observed on the S7. You will lose the live video capabilities. I would recommend the S8 Pro Ultra if you are pet owners because the dual brush roller does very well with pet hair.
@@RobotMasters Understand! I’ll keep the 7 and see what they come out with next year. Thank you Robot Master! 😀
@Paulous There a few other models coming out this year so you don't have to wait too long 😊
Way overpriced, I'll stick with my Roborock S7 plus for the win 🏆. Have multiple mop pads, much cleaner, and less work.
Sadly, Neato has shut down. Vorwerk decided to halt Neato, and spare parts will only be available for the next 5 years before they disappear for good
I figured Neato will eventually fade out. Can't stay in the business if you are not constantly innovating or improving your product.
@@RobotMasters yeah, they were unable to because they don’t have enough money to innovate
@@MrBlueCreeper Yeah very unfortunately, because Neato had a great start, very innovative by providing a D-shape and Lidar
@@RobotMasters yeah.
@@RobotMasters if Neato didn’t exist Roborock would probably be very different today
I’d say wait for the S9, imo there is no significant upgrade to it from S7 or S7MaxV. Also 1600 dollars what the hell
Yes, the S8+ and S8 have a discount, but still just as expensive as last year's model. Hopefully Roborock will provide a steep discount or provide new features with the s9.
@@RobotMasters I heard a reviewer say the pickup is worse than s7 maxv.
I wanna mention this, you are going to pay 1600 dollars for a robot vacuum that will just last about 2 years. Hate it or not, Roborocks are unreliable and they are getting more unreliable since there are so many moving parts. You won’t believe how many Roborocks appear on second hand websites here.
I am not defending iRobot either, combo j7 has so many issues.
@RoombaRush Yeah, I noticed not any significant improvement in cleaning performance over the S6 MaxV, S7 and S7 MaxV. Most people would be fine with a lesser model or going with a different brand altogether.
@@RobotMasters yes, these things are a walk in the park for an apartment home, overkill. I just prefer the Ultra dock. Trying so same a lot of money? The Dreame L10s is the second choice. Although the AI is not as efficient.
@@chris12321222 Yes I like the DreameTech L10s Ultra for the lifting mopping pads. With the ECOVACS I have to physically remove the mopping pads to go onto carpet. As for value the L10s isn’t bad. I think in a few years, the price will go down significantly for a self emptying/washing robot.
Price getting out of hand
