Do you realize that each and every time I'm watching one of your fantastic video's not only sweet memories float up but the drooling, oh the drooling!! Thank you for all the videos you have posted for I remember all of the equipment you show us. (Well, maybe 90% not counting the custom builds)
Is the beige assembly that the platter is mounted to have springs between it and the slate? My Thorens has springs so the arm has to be on the same surface. If that is sprung wouldn't it be a disaster with the arm mounted separate?
Hi and thanks for a great presentation! Can I ask please, doesn't the 'very heavy' Stillpoints record weight wear-out or damage the thrust plate/ball at the base of the spindle? The base of the spindle surely wasnt designed for such a heavy weight ..and forgive my ignorance but what sonically is the advantage of a heavy record weight?
I agree that assembly was not designed for that much weight. I use a audioquest clamp type. only about 4 oz's and just put a light pressure on the record to platter, that's all that's needed. Records with some types of slight warp actually raise up higher at the edge with more pressure.
The TD124 Is quite different to the Garrard 301/401. 1) it has a combination belt and idler drive 2) the platter is twice the weight of the Garrard. 3) the TD124 is designed to be decoupled from the base/plinth. The level screws are supposed to have rubber grommets underneath them decoupling the table from the base. This design makes the turntable unsuitable for mounting a tonearm on the plinth as there is no longer a rigid bond between the table and the tonearm.
I'm currently restoring a TD-124 but don't have a plinth, is this something you'd be able to make? I really like this stone plinth, without the hole for the second arm
I never had a dream turntable until I saw this. It's perfect in every way 😭
Wow, just wow. This video has blown my mind. Gorgeous turntable ..... love the tonearm and the centre weight. Thank you. Liked and subscribed 🤗

👍👍👍👍
Aren’t worried that it might fall from stand? It barely fits the stand?
Are those unshielded tonearm wires fully exposed at the tonearm pivot?

Did you say what type of wood is used for the tonearm?
A wooden arm?
Really cool.. You designed and built the external PSU yourselves? Also the OLED display?
Wow!!! Just curious if you sold it and for how much? Great job👍
We just listed this last Friday, and already the response is amazing. Still available as of this writing.

Its days like today, I wish I had been born rich , instead of good looking!!!!
I'm getting motion sickness from the camera, please try to hold more steady. When you move it that fast it's hard to really see how nice it looks.
Desperately trying to sell them
All old tables are so over rated
