You have no idea how much I love your videos. I usually skip through videos, but I watch yours from start to finish.
I'm happy to help.
This is flat out amazing. Just getting started in the hobby and SO love your videos!
YES! One of us, One of us...
Great Job Ted as always. Looks so clean !!!
You are absolutely outstanding! What a treat to get someone from the movie industry to share their knowledge! Fantastic!
Thank you for watching.
The push I needed to start making props, thank you so much Ted.
Got patterns, mindmap, ideas, now just waiting for the foam to arrive..
Fantastic!
Amazing! Excellent creativity Ted!
Thank you Marcus.
Evil Ted, You are one of my favorite teachers.I learn so much from you.I am myself just starting out with EVA.Not as a cosplayer but just because i like to make something from nothing.I took your advice on the circle cutter and all i can say is DAMN! It's awesome. This vid totally sold me on all of the prop monkey fillers and primers.
Happy to hear that. Thanks for your support.
I GOTTA get me some of that Rapid Fill and Fine Finish!! I'm already dreaming about the fun I can have and the results I can achieve with that stuff!
I love the hell out of this video Ted! I don't know how many times I watched it. It inspires the piss out of me. I'm working on a life size, posable, mannequin of I.Robot's NS4 which I thought were more endearing than the NS5. I learned a lot from your videos! Thanks for all the hard work and love you put in. It helps my momentum like a fitness video.
Thank you. Its people like you that keep you doing what I do!
Very cool. 1` of my fav vids so far.
Wow, thank you.
thank, i used resin from smooth on, beatiful material, but i ended up with a bad headache, i ll try this because its not toxic, even if the fill effect id lighter
Yes, I use to work with casting resin for years... Over it!
yay I was the 100 like anyways Thank you for sharing all your craft knowledge I learned a lot from your videos
Thanks for your support.
wow... amazing!!
Thank you for subscribing.
Amazing!!
Thanks for the support.
That came out BEAUTIFUL Ted, but where's the rest of the Robot suit? Don't go gettin' LAZY on us!!
Hey, I have that exact same airbrush holder. Mine's not nearly as dirty. I think I need to get to work!!
No international shipping. BOOOOH!
I just wanted to say hi!! I met you at the northern fancon (may 3rd-5th) I was the one that asked you to take a picture of me and one of the cosplayers!! (I had the green bag with gorillas on it).
Hello there. Thanks for saying hi!
I wonder if it will work when joining corners
Do not threat lol😄
This is a really nice helmet sir. Well done 👏
Thank you.
Will Rapid fill & Fine Finish help cover "blemishes" and "bumps" in foam?
So this can hide seams easily and I can use it like bondo spot putty to get a very smooth finish?
Looks Amazing, Ted!
A lot of stuff I usually see is way too over-weathered and makes it look even more fake than not weathering it, but you did a great touch, would you say that the materials you used greatly helped the texture for the weathering?
Maybe a bit. It is a smooth surface. Thank you for subscribing.
I definitely want to make this but different colors. do you have any views of the back? i know its the face mask and helmet base pattern
You mentioned briefly that these materials are flexible. Are they flexible enough for armor?
When I first glanced at the thumbnail for this, the weathered orange with the shiny finish made it look like wood covered with some sort of lacquer. Have you ever tried to put a wood-grain pattern onto a piece? I'm wanting to do some experimenting now
I've done wood grain with paint as see here. ruclips.net/video/lwZR8vPnKg8/видео.html
Window screen works well too if you can't find metallic mesh
Thanks for the tip.
Can you show an example of how well it flexes on a scrap piece of foam?
Super flexible. Get some and try it out.
Hey Ted! This is awesome! What flex of creature cast did you use for this one?
I used semi rig Creature cast on this helmet.
Thanks for the video! How does the fine finish hold up after flexing and bending the foam?
It holds up pretty good, being a helmet it. Not a lot of flexing with a helmet.
Big fan of your channel. I have gotten your face shield plan but having some trouble figuring out the back of this helmet. Do you have a template for it?
It's my basic foam helmet pattern I used. I trimed an inch off of the back of the face shield then glued to the basic helmet.
Really cool! Wouldn't it make more sense to do your weathering last, though?
Most of the time, but not with this technique. I use denatured alcohol to remove the dark brown acrylic from the 2X paint. If I did it last it would remove all the red and other detail colors.
Ted! How does the spray paint hold up to the flex of the foam and neoprene? Any cracking?
Very little to no cracking. Even the 2X paint flexes because it made for plastics.
This is awesome. Is there a specific set of blueprints to make this helmet?
Yes, I have links for them below the video.
One of my favorite things about Evil Ted’s channel is his thoroughness, he leaves very little mystery about the topic. Thanks for the link at the end to show the build.
Saw you at fan con 2019 ted
Thank for saying hi!
DAMN!!!
He’s good...
Your good for subscribing.
Evil Ted Smith
😬👍
I wonder, how much does it weigh? D btw thx for the video i love so much !!!
No more than a foam helmet...
amazing! but how does rapid fill compare with kwik seal?
You can sand Rapid fill. You can’t sand kwick seal.
@@EvilTedSmith Thank you!
Where Can I find Rapid Full & finish, can't find it on Amazon.
TNT cosplay supplys sells it. Click on the link below!
Evil Ted, I live in Europe. Rapid fill and creature cast cannot be shipped to my country do to chemical regulations. I can only buy it in EU :( Do you know any stores that sell the American products in EU or if it is possible for you to tell my any substitutes available in Europe?
You should check out Poly props flex filler. www.tyges.co.uk/flexi-filler-for-foam-cosplay-larp-costume-and-props-179-p.asp
Is Rust-Oleum 2X safe for foam?
Yes! Thats what I use to paint this helmet!
Was the neoprene spray on with a critter gun?
Yes.
Thanks ted! Do you know what rigidity of creature cast you used
When i write this you have 999 views and I'm the 99'th like. Awesome mask ted I'm always intrigued by robot masks!
Thanks Tabi, I have the patterns just below the video.
Is there somewhere to get these in Europe Ted?
I'm not sure...
Você vende pelo Etsy, boa tarde.
I do not sell on Etsy. I sell on my site. eviltedsmith.com/shop/face-shield/
Website doesn’t work for some reason
Sorry about that. Its up and running now.
Anyone tried this stuff on 3D prints?
It wont work. It's designed for foam only.
Be nice to know the ingredients before buying it.
It's non-toxic!
@@EvilTedSmith "non-toxic" is not an ingredient.
Still bad. You can easily see seams when it reflects. Why bother...
You'll do you'res better when you get some Rapid fill to play with.
