Thanks for this video! Great way to start my saturday morning. More tutorials for beginners please!
Glad to hear it, thanks for watching Jasveer!
I really liked the lesson on sculpture in cinema 4d. Very informative and understandable, thank you very much!
thanks for watching!
Thanks for great introduction! I appreciate that and would love to see more! :)
well I would like to see some more of this on ej's channel, keep it up, dave..
Thx for that good tutorial,
i like seeing eyedesign growing with Octane tuts and now adding Zbrush to the channel vids.
keep going guys you are great :)
Thanks for that simplicity to explain that monster Zbrush
Welcome - hope to do more of them!
Loved the tutorial.please make more
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
I'll be here hanging out at noon if anyone has any questions. I'm a relative newcomer to zBrush, but have been using it pretty obsessively over the past year. Let's all learn together!
Thank you so much for this video and I really hope that this becomes a series. I am decent at using Cinema 4D but I wanted to learn Zbrush as well, but most tutorials teach ZBrush either with Keyshot or Maya. And the ones that do teach about Zbrush & C4D are in spanish. So, I thank you and EJ a lot for this tutorial. Please do consider making more Zbrush & Cinema 4D tuts and how these two softwares intearct.
You are quite welcome @@AnkitSharma-sy6yu
Hi. i just wanted to start 3d design for graphic illustration and maybe motion graphic? what software should i use?
Nicely done. Definitely would like to see more ZBrush beginner tutorials, especially in two focuses:
1. Using ZBrush in conjunction with C4D (same project using the strengths of each program for various parts...hope that makes sense.)
2. Short projects in ZBrush. Things that can be accomplished in 10 or shorter to 20 minutes max. I am thinking along the lines of something that could be done as a daily practice building skills from the ground up.
Thanks!
Good suggestions - thanks! Definitely want to cover ZBrush and how to send files back and forth between it and C4D. Most things in Zbrush will take longer than 10-20 minutes, but I'll see what we can whip up!
@@daveglanz Thanks! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
The main purpose of shorter videos is that it takes daily practice to really get familiar with ZBrush. I am sure I am not alone in this: I have had to start over and over because of time constraints which keeps me from really learning it, so I end up stopping and having to start anew all over again.
Shorter videos would give me something to practice on while absorbing specific functions. (Example: one video on blocking in, second on creating the first level of details, third on making changes to the form, fourth on the second level of details, etc.)
By the way, 10-20 minutes in my world means that the exercises will actually take me about an hour as I need to rewind a lot to make sure that I understand and am using the function or tools correctly.
Being able to see the relationship between C4D and ZBrush would make the price I paid for both so much more worthwhile. = )
This is great! Thank you, Sir! :D X
thanks for watching!
best tutoriel for introduction
Thanks for watching!
Appreciate that!
ZBrush is NO JOKE I have never even see EJ touch it!!
thats why dave is here! :)
Hello I know this is old but I was wondering if you could make a full squirrel tutorial for cinema 4d? I would really appreciate it
You are Awesome
thank you so much.
Welcome!
Thanks for watching Shiv!
Please make more 3d sculpting videos. I've been dying to learn how to make those greek statues. Thanks!
Which statues are you interested in?
@@daveglanz classical statues. Greek and Roman style. A lot of people use them in vaporwave aesthetic pieces.
Great!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tut. Look on the Volume mesh button in C4D Sculpt section. It makes the same thing that Zbrush Dynamesh.)
Good call!
Nice
Hi there! Do you guys take suggestions on tutorials? Any chance we could get a super in depth video on the "Explosia" effect within X-Particles & Octane? There are literally 2 tutorials on the internet for this and they don't teach it property like you guys do! Example project: Simulating the explosion that happens inside of an engine every second!
Definitely hit up @davidariew for that!!!
More more please!
More on the way! :)
Working on it - thanks Cass :)
If I can make a request: would love to see a tutorial that takes us through the process of retopo and projecting details and creating maps from z-brush. I am struggling with understanding this part of the pipeline.
retopo is a great subject! thanks for the recommendation!
does cinema 4d sculpting has dynamic teselation/topology like Blender or Mudbox ? if not how does it handled the need of extra topology ? I see it has these layers. They work much different than dynamic tolpology or ahve siginificant disadvantages ?
whts the purpose of scuplting in both c4d and zbrush at the same time ?
different tools are available for you in Zbrush that arent in C4D!
ZBrush has hands down the LEAST user friendly workflow/UI I've ever used in any 3D package... The software is AWESOME, but the UI is terrible
Mostly agree with you R3DMyst, but I must say I have become accustomed to it and feel pretty comfortable using it now. It definitely "feels" better when I use it on a cintiq though.
i didn't get into it until i mad my own custom ui after that it became so easy, The hard surface modeling in it is so frustrating though
Very true. Horrible interface and workflow.
I had to finally abandon ZBrush because of the UI. I gave it a chance but I just couldn't deal with it.
Hi EJ, can you please please make a tutorial on how to achieve a similar shading effect to Spiderman, into the spiderverse. PLEASE
GSG posted one for Arnold renderer today actually ruclips.net/video/4zsR25y7UVA/видео.html
Chad from GSG just came out with one for Arnold! greyscalegorilla.com/tutorials/spiderverse-shader-arnold-tutorial/?
@@eyedesyn Can you make a version on Octane Please :)
love ya
:) :)
Hey I was just having trouble uv unwrapping a chest I made as a fan art for Sea of Thieves. I really would like some help on it because I am not a really good uv unwrapper.
I would take a look at Michael Pavlovich's lesson on UVs here: ruclips.net/video/T0gUuFc3etU/видео.html
it´s not so powerful as Zbrush Dynamesh but Cinema 4D R20 has the "Volume / Volume Mesh" that tries to do the same thing....
outlinegorilla design good to know!
you mean the one he talks about and uses in this video?
hyyyyyyyype
woo awesome sculpting ref tutorial. how could you tell what resolution to change dynamesh to since the holes topology still looked a bit jinky similar to one before? from 160 to 200 res ruclips.net/video/dTLEdRDRPzA/видео.html is your settings for dynamesh a safe for use all in dynamesh?
I don’t think there’s a real number, but the higher the number the more resolution you’ll get with Dynamesh.
You can also turn off dynamesh if the results are causing an issue, duplicate the tool and just focus on the section you are having an issue with.
One new solution Zbrush has for getting more detail in the topology is the addition of sculptris pro in Zbrush 3018- which I could cover next time.
@@daveglanz nice, thank ye
Whipped up a quick render using C4D and Redshift yesterday, using my completed sculpt: vimeo.com/317481042

Don't do premieres, you get dislikes and fewer views. Enough videos on YT showing that.
As a first timer to releasing tutorials for EJ, I'm curious why?
@@daveglanz ruclips.net/video/Gz8UpKEhMQo/видео.html
Fair enough @@MisterGiant . Definitely new to this, and as far as I know, EJ has just started using this feature.
I think this will be my last one, we'll see how this goes! It's the 3rd one I've done and I havent noticed more dislikes than videos normally get! Aside from a dislike for the premier itself
Not sure if it's because of premier or my recent searches for Blender but this popped up for me to watch. Algorithm is working for fringe artists.
I didnt learn anything here...,
