Good play. Please find some STRONG TIPS below: 1. You can remove the Mestnichestvo reform on Day 1 if you stab up and sell titles. You can then claim Defender of Faith with the extra gold. This gives you constant war exhaustion reduction, some bonuses and most importantly GUARANTEES the safety of Byzantium, Serbia, Georgia and so on, containing Ottomans expansion. All this also opens up the Balkans, Anatolia and Caucuses for rapid expansion later as you will be able to annex them instead for little AE since they are Orthodox. 2. If you move your capital to a province in the CIRCASSIA state, which you can do very early on, just after the war with the Golden Horde, it is considered outside Europe and you can make TRADE COMPANIES. This can give you merchants in Novgorod, White sea, Kazan, Astrakhan, so on... AND also Trade companies boost income in other fully stated provinces. You can effectively DOUBLE YOUR INCOME and scale a lot faster. 3. Riga is super powerful vassal. What you do is conquer it, dev it to 20 and have Castle, Barracks, Marketplace and Workshop (lvl 6 diplo). Then you stab up to 3, release them as a vassal and divert trade. Riga in the next 1-2 years will build up a couple of soldiers and seize land, and due to having low burgher influence (because you divert trade and after they seize land once) will take the mission for Free Cathedral. Now because it has 5 buildings and 3 stab (which inherited from you on release) it will also take the mission that makes them OP, giving them all sorts of amazing bonuses in Riga. Make them a march and give them the rest of their home state of Livonia.
also for those who will apply the first step dont forget the give adm and diplomatic mana point to the estates because selling titles 30 percent crownland give less money then selling it on 10 percent
@@DesertFox221 Because more crownland percantage estates has gives more money for example at start you can get 400 ducats instead of 300 just by different order of clicks so be careful
@@DesertFox221 Yes, @dutchy 2197 is right. The amount of gold you gain is based on the percentage of estate land and current Age. For example in the Age of Discovery you get 2.5 years of income, 2.0 in the Age of Reformation, 1.5 and 1.0 in the next ages. This is then multiplied by the % of land held by the estates. If you sell titles at 10% crownland, you get 90% of 2.5 years of income. If you sell at 20% you get 80% x 2.5 years of income and so on. The lowest crownland you sell at the more you get. The best strategy currently to minmax this is to either sell at 15% crownland. so you drop down down to 5% and seize land to get back up to 10% to avoid bigger debuffs OR to sell at around 10% just before you end a war. This way you get max income, peace out and your crownland jumps up due to conquering new provinces then you seize land again aiming for at least 10%. Bear in mind the larger you are and the more influential estates means you get less crownland from conquering. I end up constantly selling crownlands in the first age and part of the second age, then I stop so I can increase crownlands, prepping for the Age of absolutism.
After watching this video, I first learned that the vassal states I liberated follow the player's stability. Even my EU4 play time is 5k hours. I can't wait for the second part of your Muscovy play.
Man, this Muscovy start is absolutely amazing!!! You seriously rock! I wanted to find a relevant video on "how to Muscovy", since I played Muscovy like 5 times and only first one of them was more or less successful, the last three times I was ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED by BS Ottomans! But now, since I watched your video, I guess I won't be playing as Muscovy anymore. I just can't play like you, you are TOO GOOD. =) Thanks for the video, I enjoyed every moment of it! ^_^
My strategy for playing Muscovy involves no-CB-warring Byzantium early on to force vassalize them. That completely stops the insane Ottoman expansion in the beginning, actually allowing you to repeatedly use reconquest CB on the Ottos. Yeah, the no-CB is a big hit, but it's just soooo useful in the long run...
I don't see how that is needed. If you expand at the rate we see in the video, wich isn't too difficult, you can significantly outgrow the Ottomans before they grow strong.
btw ik this is late but in a future play through giving right to call diet and picking their agenda for nobility allows you to do a day one revoke of the mestnichestvo system
If you wanna try an other fun gameplay you could play quara qoyunlu into eransharh for an insane cav army. Stay in mountain, see enemy dying from sieging and finish them with your horses 😁
Cheers from Serbia. I have only been playing Muscovy or Novgorod for a few years now. But sometimes i tend to use cheats since it gets either boring or I can't deal with loans/no manpower situation
@@Itpurplehazemuscovy start is definitely the most fun start in the game tbh, its very challenging, but also not unfairly difficult like the byzanitines.
@@Itpurplehaze like the person below you said. I prefer Muscovy since i pick any other nation it doesn't fit my play 😅 But then again, I'm getting slowly bored of gaming. Maybe i quit it soon
@Korrus_ there are a lot of nations which have a fun start. And the byzantines don't have such an hard start if you know what you're doing, let alone unfair
No matter what I do I always fall short one province after fighting novgorod. I can only annex 12 of their provinces (even when following your recommended peace deal) but i need 13 of them to do the invade novgorod mission
@@GolemEnt Thanks for getting back so quickly. I tried exactly that still but no luck. The moment i click the 12th province it locks me out of clicking others and states "You cannot demand tribute that requires more than 100% War Score" even if I have a 100% war score Edit: upon some experimenting it looks like just rearranging the provinces i pick will do. Some of the provinces take too much of the peace offer value. Basically I have 100 bucks and have to somehow buy 13 things with it, which is ashame cause I think Neva is too expensive to keep but it has the trade node :(

It only takes less than a day big bro
The probleme with realeasing Riga is that they won't get the right type of gouvernement for one of their mission. Not sur if it really is a loss tho.
A week? All we need js a day
Love a good Moscovy run. When do you get the event that gives claims on the Balkans and Byzantine cores?
Probably my favorite faction emblem in vanilla. First tag I ever played and it was awesome!
0:36 don't you only need to occupy the province of Sarai for the debuff "the tatar yoke" to go away?
edit: Yea, 11:28 I was right
