@@Kevcupo Halfway through the video I googled hostels in Liverpool you can pay cash. It's near impossible for then to get a place to stay it's absolutely disgusting how our country is ran. To me personally I think the government are making it so hard for homeless people to get back onto their feet, how they are encouraging places to make the homeless pay by card with their name is is an absolute joke. Most haven't got a bank account and the government know that. I was with a girl from over the water a while ago and she was volunteering off her own back to try get homeless people off the streets and she was telling me it's so hard back then and I seen first hand how hard it was and how stressed she was getting just to try help the homeless, it's even worse now mate they are shutting places down too so there are less places for them to stay now. I would rather my hard earned taxes went to sorting the homeless situation out in our city and the country, rather than my taxes going on paying for lazy people who choose to sit and do nothing allday and rip the system off. I have seen a few ex soldiers homeless in the streets of Liverpool mate it shocked me to the core thinking wow if the government won't help someone who lay their lives on the line to protect their country then your average Joe homeless person is doomed. Sad times we live in mate 😔
Not necessarily.. some homeless have initiative and find old buildings, out buildings, other areas not in full view of people. Some dont want to be seen 🤷♂️
Couple of weeks ago i walked through st johns gardens at the back of st georges hall. There was an older lady with a pink woollen hat on and wearing a big coat, carrying a bag and what could have been a sleeping bag. She was crying and a guy was asking her something. I am sorry i walked past. I saw her later in the main library escorted by two people with badges. They looked like they had bought her a hot drink. They escorted her up the escalator. They saw me looking over. I was looking because i wanted to offer help in some way, but didn't know how to. I have never forgotten her. May i have your thoughts xxx
This is why I’m doing what I do, plenty of times in the past I have walked past people that looked like they needed help. And like you I wish I’d have stopped and chatted to them at the very least. I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it, we’ve all done it
The sad thing is some of these people are so gripped in addiction that they don’t want to be helped. I’m sure they’d take the money but, it wouldn’t go on a warm bed for the night. So sad but, keep up the good work Kev. Liverpool is my second home and to see it’s decline over the years is scandalous.
I was homeless for a bit I would never sleep in a city I slept in woods in the country I enjoyed it tent it was in summer now I have a bungalow thousands in the bank my own business their is always hope

One homeless person, I don’t know if he was homeless on Sunday when I went to the car, boot there was a girl with a flash and she said to him would you like a drink he said no she said you can go to Whitechapel have a wash of a change of clothes somewhere to sleep on Monday we will sort some out for you and he said no thank you. I couldn’t understand that 😮
Weirdly its hard to get a tent from homeless charities (most "dont give out tents") nevermind a roof over your head 😅 this includes local authority outreach (a seperate entity to local council to remove legal responsibilities of housing) The homeless application also requires a LHA aplication number to proceed which is also strange, seems theyre not assessing your current situation but your historical one. I have noticed that to recieve any professional intervention needs an adiction of some sort.. no help for working and at risk of homelessness 😅
Yeah its like the outreach team are doing police checks find wanted people ect ,, but i was lucky the out reach team tht came to me helped me fast really went the extra mile i feel fortunate tht i wasn't left stranded
@@Kevcupo the best way is to try using the "services" available, it's the only real way of testing their ease.(or lack of) .. as on paper they seem to work but in practical terms they dont 👍.. Respect for all the good you are doing btw
@@jamiesplinter8758 the charity outreach are there for the council to direct you to, this then eliminates their legal requirement to help (under section 5-6) as they have referred you to a "homeless service" .. it's all bureaucracy
Normally you know when someone is actually homless because you would see them every day and walking around at night and they would look really tired and dirty thats. The most real homless
When young adults leave care they often get help from social services so what they ara saying is load of rubbish because when i left care they got me a flat in support liveing in Birmingham
I think the council has a duty of care to house someone homeless but they would have to follow the rules of the place and some one with a addiction would not be able to take drugs there .
This is Britain in the 21st century. It's utterly disgusting and local and national politricktians should be ashamed of themselves. Housing Options in the city is a waste of time. There is no excuse for homelessness. £20 for a night, that's £140 a week. That's social housing rent for proper accommodation. Why aren't we building social housing? There are so many flats going up in the city centre, esp around the Baltic triangle all private. There is so much student accommodation and air B&Bs in Liverpool, no wonder there's a housing problem. Maybe do a film about all the new building juxtaposed with the homeless in our city? Sometimes you have to make people really uncomfortable. Let's not forget too that the construction industry is notoriously corrupt too. Combined with the council, that's a toxic combo.
When i was on holiday last year in Blackpool i gave a few homeless people cash, i was caught helping by some women from Shelter & i got pulled to one side & was told off by them they made me feel VERY SMALL & GUILTY. They said i should donate to shelter instead but i refuse to give anyone my bank details. so I left it. ( the women from shelter said the cash i gave the homeless went on booze & drugs, that if they died id be responsible) Do you feel safe carrying cash with you to pay for the YMCA or do you have someway to pay without

The comments from subscribers who suggested vouchers or contacting directly to the hostels would enable you to approach people so it keeps you safe and also adheres to safe guarding rules.Perhaps you can work alongside their outreach workers.I think it may be the way forward .I have experienced addictions issues in my family all I will say is manipulative behaviour is very common. You are doing a good job but I think you need backup as it's such a complex issue.
Have you never been round St. Nics church and the back roads, down the bottom of Chapel St...? There are usually tents and whatnot there when i'm in 'pool? I don't really think though, that what you're doing is gonna help an aweful lot. Those still on the Street, are there for a good reason, a reason we obviously don't know.
What a great effort KC
Thank you mate
Good gesture ❤❤❤❤from you kev nice video God bless u
Thank you Henry mate
Doing best Kev 👌 good you have met young lad Nathan look forward to next video get yourself hot drink ☕️
Nathan is a great lad
Massive respect to you mate 👍
Thank you mate
Just to say hi kev big up keep the good work that you are doing man.❤❤❤😊😮
Genuine homeless will have all kinds of tents etc, 'fakes' wont have any of that .
Not necessarily.. some homeless have initiative and find old buildings, out buildings, other areas not in full view of people. Some dont want to be seen 🤷♂️
Ahhhh, we've found a "Know it all".
As with most "Know it alls" they tend to Know next to nothing 🙄
I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it, we’ve all done it
Just learn from it x
The sad thing is some of these people are so gripped in addiction that they don’t want to be helped. I’m sure they’d take the money but, it wouldn’t go on a warm bed for the night. So sad but, keep up the good work Kev. Liverpool is my second home and to see it’s decline over the years is scandalous.
It is better to help one person rather than no one at all
If one person can be helped then it’s all worth it
I was homeless for a bit I would never sleep in a city I slept in woods in the country I enjoyed it tent it was in summer now I have a bungalow thousands in the bank my own business their is always hope
If two people can still love each other even on the street them being homeless that is real love. Not this fake love you find online.
Thank you for the video.
It looks desolate & lonely out there.
Id be afraid of being mugged for my camera.
Those sleeping homeless must be SO cold in this weather.
Omg what your doing is amazing 🙏❤
Thank you Karen
Your doing great work....if I see you I will say hello
That would be great Carmel, thank you
Every council curruption back handers could sort a lot of our city's troubles out.
We in Liverpool call them brown envelopes 🤣🤣
Yep agreed
There’s a lad who been sleeping rough in a door way facing the side of the town hall on high st as ye walk up to exchange court for the last couple of months
I’ll take a look next time Craig
Watch them ones outside the tesco, they was all smack heads when I was living there in 2019, wanting to score. rough area that part like. Nice work kev👍
Cheers Chris, thanks for the heads up
Great Video Kevin
Thank you
Awesome 👍 video
Thank you David
Is right mate. Nice try. Youve done ya best lad. Ive been homeless in the past. Its no joke. Ya a good man.
Everybody knows the homeless have to have good credit to be warm for the night. .. this is England after all we are gentrified
It’s sad isn’t it?
Respect mate

Top man “ and good o ya bud , can’t believe that some are fake sitting there and real homeless are loosing out with these and taking advantage of our good nature pity that unable to tell who is genuine 👍
I remember door way sleeping the slugs spiders when wet or a damp night the hoping if it rains it doesn't come in and soak u ect the hoping u get left alone to actually sleep
It’s a sad world when all you hope for is a dry nights sleep. Hope your all good now Jamie
just sent you 5 coffees good luck will send some more soon good luck
That’s so kind Joan, thank you. It will go a long way to helping someone
Alot of people won't go into the ymca unfortunately Kev it's either because of fear drugs bullying just don't feel safe they would rather be on the streets
Ah right ok, I need to rethink my next move
If we can change one person's life..The Ripple Effect Would Keep ' Hope In Your Heart's. ❤💙
* We Are Liverpool *
If he's fast asleep, then it's best to leave him . Stay Safe !!..Yes I Agree , Come Out Earlier. You may be able to handle yourself..but the city centre is bigger !
Well done fella. True scouser from a bootle lad.
Thank you, I appreciate that
Tents sleeping bags and food and drink would be better Kev👍
I’ll be supplying all that stuff too Martin, I just wanted to get people out of the storm
They're used to living that way i think Kev!@@Kevcupo
good man
Thank you Gary
New sub great stuff👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for subscribing
Good lad, keep it up!
Cheers Neil
One homeless person, I don’t know if he was homeless on Sunday when I went to the car, boot there was a girl with a flash and she said to him would you like a drink he said no she said you can go to Whitechapel have a wash of a change of clothes somewhere to sleep on Monday we will sort some out for you and he said no thank you. I couldn’t understand that 😮
Good sign alarm going ov hopefully get wat they need
maybe you need to hire a church hall or somewhere and set it up urself ,,, get funding from council even ,,
The council will wrap that idea up in red tape, I know what they’re like
What a legend you are. am a mental heath counselling and if I can help you please get in touch and I will counselling them for free
Weirdly its hard to get a tent from homeless charities (most "dont give out tents") nevermind a roof over your head 😅 this includes local authority outreach (a seperate entity to local council to remove legal responsibilities of housing)
The homeless application also requires a LHA aplication number to proceed which is also strange, seems theyre not assessing your current situation but your historical one.
These are all things I need to educate myself on, there must be an easier way of helping people
@@Kevcupo the best way is to try using the "services" available, it's the only real way of testing their ease.(or lack of) .. as on paper they seem to work but in practical terms they dont 👍..
Respect for all the good you are doing btw
@@jamiesplinter8758 the charity outreach are there for the council to direct you to, this then eliminates their legal requirement to help (under section 5-6) as they have referred you to a "homeless service" .. it's all bureaucracy
Council need to understand that to help people
How can you be contacted Kev?
Instagram by the same name or email at merseykickers@hotmail.com
Normally you know when someone is actually homless because you would see them every day and walking around at night and they would look really tired and dirty thats. The most real homless
Yeah you’re right, home are harder to spot than others
That’s a really good idea Sophia
You can't pay to stay at YMCA, its referral only council etc x
Yeah I’m slowly but surely finding that out
I work in a hotel I know some of the hotels will take homeless but they have to be referred so I don’t know if that would help 🙏🏽
I'm homeless i get benefits i don't beg, some homeless people just want a roof i have all my own kit and i try to avoid people giving me stuff
( the women from shelter said the cash i gave the homeless went on booze & drugs, that if they died id be responsible)
Do you feel safe carrying cash with you to pay for the YMCA or do you have someway to pay without
Alright mate I enjoy your channel and appreciate what you do, but if I could give a tip face the camera away from you a lot more, will give the channel a lot more appeal
Find out kev the rules and regulation of the hostels please.
We all need to march, go to councilors houses, stop paying council tax
dont fall for the druggies
yes you have a point but they chose to buy drugs its a choice they make@@ReggieThePug
my own son ended up on the streets kept stealing thousands off me for his addiction so dont preach at me in the end i still supported him and things are better for him but i have five kids to support when mum run off becuase she was druggie and alcoholic you can only give them help if they want it@@ReggieThePug
i am so sorry to hear the awful things you went though i have helped many young lost people give them a roof until things got better for them even went to get trained as a counsellor my surgoen want me too give talks on getting though my brain tumour but best of luck to you and your family
@@ReggieThePug
You'd be better off investing your time and energie in konstantly harrassing the people who have the power to make the changes..., do you not think that would be a better possibility?
I get that mate, if I shout loud enough on RUclips, maybe someone will listen. If I send an email, it’s easily ignored
Can you please check if they stayed in the YMCA Kev? You gave them money, now its your duty to follow up and see if the got shelter at the YMCA.
There is a follow up video tomorrow
@@Kevcupo Hiya Kev, that's today for me
