riding a very old but ver nice otis elevator at boscovs south hills village mall intersing to see the old black buttons and the reagular modern buttons I like the indecator. I hope it doesnt get modernized I like it how it is.

These elevator doors remind me of the elevators in the old World Trade Center. Never been there but there's videos showing what it's like going up 110 stories in less than a minute.

As for this location, I've read that Nordstrom might open a new store there, but I'm not sure if they will just use the existing building or build a new one.

I have a correction to the year installed column. The mall was built in 1965, not 1955.
I don't know if the elevator still exist, if so then it's probably locked off. I wish I came there when it was still open; I would like to have gotten a video of the elevator since it has or had pre-lexan (or black-button) fixtures. Interesting floor indicator, I never seen a floor indicator like that before. It has words instead of numbers.
Nathan Davis Last time I was here I couldn't find it anywhere. It may behind doors for employees only. The Schindler at Dicks is labeled elevator 4, so maybe there is 3 other elevators. Maybe one is the newer freight and the other is old freight, then the old passenger.
I hope that's the case. It would be a shame for such a vintage elevator from the 60's to be gone. If that elevator was still around today it would be at least 50 years old. Speaking of that; I heard that South Hills Village is going to be 50 years old in July.
Before Boscov's there was a Kauffman's at that location.
Too bad there's nothing at that section at the moment, but if it is true that a Nordstrom's will be at that section, then that might be a good thing. I live in the South Hills, so this is my mall of choice.
well this is going to close and I dont know what it will be or they might demlosh it I was only here for 2 times but I hope they dont knock it down the one at monroville mall is closing as well and also the 3rd floor there was added when kaulfmanns came

I have not been here, but from what I have read, and what videos I have watched, I think the store was split into 2 stores: Target, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Target is on floor 1, and Dick's Sporting Goods is on floors 2 and 3. There is a new elevator in Dick's Sporting Goods. Sadly, I think this elevator was probably removed.
I know the Westinghouse/Schindler one at the Monroeville Mall was removed because when I was there the last time I couldn't find it anywhere; unless if it's behind locked doors that I can't enter because I may set an alarm. As for the one at South Hills Village which is the older sister mall; I have no clue. Anyway can you get a video of the new elevator in Dick's?

Now THIS is how you make an elevator ADA compliant! Leave the old fixtures alone and just simply slap on an ADA panel on the other side!
yeah last time I was there the macys elevator didnt work and the time befroe that I didnt have my camera its a westinghouse and is SLOWEST ELEVATOR EVER

This was ripped out and replaced by Schindler when Dick's Sporting Goods opened on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Yeah actually its completely gone, the schinlder is in a totally differnt location now.
