    Video Summary:
    Stress is one of the most common problems of modern life. Stress is an emotional and chemical response to stimuli around us, but the problem lies inside our heads. Stress is most often associated with lack of time or money, or by relationships at work, home, or with family. Achieving better emotional control helps some folks handle stress much better than others, but some situations are inherently more stressful than others.
    Ideally, the long-term solution to stress is to overhaul your attitude via personal development work. But while you're working on that, there are some strategies to help you cope in the short-term.
    If your stress originates from too little money, the logical answer is to get a better-paying job. Too little time: slow down, prioritize, be realistic, and focus. Multi-tasking is a crazy-making oxymoron. If your stress originates in your relationships, stop blaming other people; stop trying to control other people; and focus on your own life and its direction.
    The best solution over-all for dealing with stress in the short-term is to know your values and your life's purpose and to stay grounded in yourself.

    In my personal experience I managed stress with just two things. Having a clear idea about things by getting your ethics right. ( personal development) And not letting failure affect you and at the same time not getting success get to your head.

    This has changed my life, god bless. It makes us realize the power is in our hands to actually CHOOSE to be stressed or not. This is related to the message in the book mans search for meaning about choosing your own way, choosing your attitude in any given circumstance. Stress is a choice to respond. Thank you for this realization and epiphany

    Stress comes from negative thoughts, if you can control your thoughts you stay calm, just don't pay attention to people who irritate you or amount of work you have to do - don't resist to yourself, accept everything as what it is

    great inspiring video! Really bought me back to the point of working on the inside and taking power back.... so easy to think the system is against us and that the grass is greener etc. but really we just need to be grounded in ourselves.... I like the bit about moving forward in a sustainable and manageable way; I have learned the hard way that frantically going from one thing to another is exhausting; whereas 'single tasking' and slowing down will lead to great things but also an enjoyable journey.... and life is ultimately a journey!

    Hey Leo, do you think laziness play a role in getting one stressed. Because when I want to do something, I procrastinate and then I don't know where I'm going in life and then I get stressed and immediately my head starts aching. I also cry without any reason

    • @georgebenichou9727
      @georgebenichou9727 7 лет назад +3

      Pushpa Uk procrastinating is just like : deciding no to decide !! when you decide not to decide you really mean you have decided to stay in the uncertainty ! no wonder you feel lost in your life ! you are the one who have decided a life of uncertainty ! a decision must be accomplished now or very shortly , otherwise it is not a decision it is a wish !! procrastination is the greatest ennemi to the starting of any enterprise in life in fact it is the perfect formula for sustained failures all the ways ,all the ways .....it also spoils the other qualities you may have ....

      Many people are in some stage of burnout without knowing it. It comes with malnourishment and the digestive system etc doesn't work well.It can be mixed legitimately with laziness, but with fear of the unknown as well. With less energy, one has less courage, knowing one is not strong to take on dangers or obstacles that may arise in the process of doing what one is procrastinating about. It is often a complex problem yours sounds like it. Start deciding to change. find a course of action. Do as Leo says, baby steps every day. Get up if you fall. Go on.

    Have you made any videos on taking, learning from, and most importantly responding to constructive criticism? In the same vein, what about stress when you have tasks to perform and you do not perform as well as you wanted the first time. It causes stress. After repetition you get it down nicely but doing these taks is your job and you have many of them yet to get down and your job in this case has been your "purpose" for sime time. In this environment if you do not perform your tasks well it is analyzed and assessed and a form of constructive criticism given. I am referring to the medical field in general. I see this so i wondered your thoughts or if you have any other videos that may address this question. Professionalism, progress, emotional stability in what can be a high stress environment are paramount.

  • @ebbenielsen7

    I just wonder what negative emotions are. Aren't all emotions positive - perhaps not pleasant but positive. They say something very usefull about us and our life; and that is so positive. And if we name an emotion as negative we could risk try to get rid of it - but I would not get rid of my sorrow when a person died from me, and I would not be without my anger when a person insult my child - and my fear can safe my life - that is not negative - and so on.

    • @jnellestephenson8296
      @jnellestephenson8296 7 лет назад

      All emotions are inherently good (positive). An emotion can be perceived as negative if it becomes so overwhelming that how we handle our experience of the emotion is maladaptive or unhealthy. No typically developing or developed human being can get rid of their emotions, we can find ways to mask how we respond but what we feel is still there. I hope this helps! :-)

      As true as it may be to change your outlook of a stressful situation. If a situation is toxic, and you have tried all you can to alter your circumstance, whether it be through a different outlook or some other factor. It is always better to remove yourself from a toxic environment than stay in it. Adapting to a stressful situation can potentially increase your risk for many medical conditions; eg, hypertension, heart disease, and cancer. What is happening is your body's biological stress responses are adapting to the prolonged stress and essentially, you are potentially causing damage to your biological stress systems.
      So, if it is a circumstance where it is not toxic but simply more stressful than needs be and you can alter your your environment or thinking to manage and cope then give that a shot, but it is unnecessary and unhealthy to adapt to a toxic environment. Essentially you have to decide if the level of stress you are experiencing is manageable or not, and how you will go about best managing that situation. :-)
      Altering your thought process will not miraculously change your situation, it will take time and hard work on your part to alter the way you view your situation; depending on how long you have been in it. How long it takes will ultimately depend on you. Like any job, you will have better days than others, but it will be a change from your current thinking which is typically never an easy shift; It definitely can be a helpful one however.
      Weigh your pros and cons, see what resources you have available to deal with the situation and see what resources you have available if you chose to change your situation. Heart disease is the #1 cause of death worldwide and job related stress is considerably associated with hypertension and heart disease. If this job is worth it and you can find a way to manage then I would stay go for it, but if it is going to cause you considerable distress then you may want to evaluate your options. :-)

    Maybe you can create video about letting go of a person you love and who doesn't care care back about you? And what if you are forced into situation when you have to see that person every day? Thanks ;)

      That's a good topic. But you are not forced to do anything. You are CHOOSING to see that person every day.

      Dk Df You have the option to change schools, change classes, or learn to like the classes you are in. Stop being a victim. You are 100% responsible for everything in your life. No exceptions!

    Your right about some things but try driving a city bus in the hood full to the brim. Then you can tell me its always internal.
