SPOILERS BELOW NO SERIOUSLY SPOILERS: Aizen was weaker than Ywach when Ywach was destroying the 3 worlds with his spiritual pressure alone. He absorbed the Soul King and saw ALL reality. He undid Ichigo's Bankai and absorbed all Shrifts. He was clearly stronger than Aizen, anyone who says otherwise is coping. Yet was still under his influence. Let that sink in. A guy who's existence was destroying multiple universes and has the ability to see all outcomes was being hypnotize by Aizen. That's not a simple battle of Spiritual Pressure.
I personally think that one's a retcon, because if Sakanade always worked the way it does in TYBW, Aizen wouldn't even be able to understand what Shinji was saying. Back in the fake Karakura Town, all he could do was reverse the sense of direction, but here, it reverses everything you do.
Not sure if anyone already answered your question but the reason the older dog was so hyped is because he extends his life with the hearts he eats, so the implication is that part of the reason we don’t see more of komamura’s clan( outside of them being ashamed of the looks the way he used to be) is that there aren’t many left as the older dog tricked them into giving up there hearts to( probably with the promise that they’ll go back to looking human’ish?) eat there hearts and extend his life. At least that’s the conclusion I got from that, he just selfish and sinister

Kommamura's fate has links to Buddhism. By pursuing vengeance he is becoming more like an animal, we aren't told why souls end up in the animal realm in Bleach (one of the worst realms to end up in as far as Buddhism) but it's likely something to do with the theme of vengeance. A situation where you aren't as bad as someone who would end up in Hell, but you still sinned and gave in to a toxic and basic emotion. Its very deep story telling there but I do not think Kommamura did anything wrong unlike Tousen personally. I can see how vengeance can lead you astray easily though and is generally not something to be embraced.
The thing is, Komamura wanted to sacrifice everything just to get his revenge. If he just continued fighting vs Yhwach for the sake of peace, he'd remain his usual fox/dog form, but he wanted to sacrifice his own life for an unlimited power needed for him to kill Yhwach. Which, I believe, in this part of the story, could be possible.

when Ichigo's mother was infected by the hollow she was about to die if not for the intervention of Urahara and Isshin, this was a clue that hollows are poisonous and deadly to the quincy. I understand your frustration in seeing Toshiro defeated several times, but in the battle with bazz-b I didn't expect a victory considering that without bankai it is almost impossible to beat a Sternritter. Shinji didn't use bankai on Bambietta because it's useless in a 1vs1 battle, also he didn't have time to put on his mask, I still don't think he would have been able to beat Bambietta since her power is almost a perfect counter. In Bleach it is not always easy to understand power-levels because it is based a lot on skills, it is not impossible to see a weaker character win a battle with a stronger opponent if his power is a counter to that of the opponent.

The hollow poison thing is precisely why Ichigo's fake bankai can't be stolen (also the quincy thing we were revealed earlier likely plays a role :) ) One thing that stood out to me here is the way Cang Du talked about Toshiro's bankai. It was strange.. Its a well-known essentially scientific fact at this point that zanpakutos are living so of course his bankai has a mind of its own lol.

I love how Komamura's story concludes. If you remember, him and Tosen had that conversation about revenge and how it costed Tosen so much. Now we see Komamura wanting to avenge Yamamoto and much like Tosen - it costs him virtually everything.

The old dog is a bastard. He deceived Komamura into offering his heart and didn't explain the consequences of the Jinka technique, komamura thought that he would die and stop. The old dog continues to live by eating the hearts of his clansmen btw. When the lieutenant pick up Komamura and goes toward yhwach is a beuatiful moment, he wants to demonstrate that Komamura's sacrifice wasn't in vain, he wants to bring him to his goal even if it's meaningless and they would probably die
Shinji got the best OST ts on repeat for me straight RnB 25:27 the way Kensei stepped up was cold Komamura even while trying to get revenge still went to save his comrade Shinji so thats respect. But it was poetic that Komamura and Old Man Yama fought for revenge and both died a miserable death alone. If you remember back when Aizen first reveled that he was still alive, Lieutenant Kotetsu said Aizen showed all the Lieutenants his Shikai; which was a running water type zanpakuto which'd used mist to confuse enemies into attacking each other. His flames while weaker were stated to be able to protect him and his comrades against the flames just enough. Nobody is arguing Bazz-B would defeat Yama, he was clearly outmatched, but he is a stronger than average Sternritter. If you want to read ahead you will see the sorts of foes he can fight toe to toe with too beyond what we have already seen in the anime. He destroyed Toshiro easily as we already saw and knew full well he could defeat his bankai.

Kubo confirmed on Kluboutside earlier this yr that Toushirou is older than Momo when a fan asked him. those Q&As over there he always does nevertheless yeah there's nothing to imply he's hundreds of years old. really, we just don't know & Kubo's never given specific ages for shinigamis anyways. it's never addressed

But yeah narratively it was never addressed or implied. - What I gathered is from the few times specific years and statements were given. - For some reason people assume the current Shinigami's and Captains are "hundreds of years old" when that can only apply to Yamamoto, Unohana, Shunsui and Ukitake. - Most captains at the Soul Society arc were in fact younger than people assume given that Soifon, Gin, Aizen, Byakuya, Komomura, Kaname, Toshiro have been in captaincy less that 100 years and even Mayuri considered the Quincy a rarity, stating to Uryu they were a dying breed when he became captain of squad 12 less than 100 years ago, implying he probably wasn't around for the Quincy extermination 200 years ago.
1) I love how Urahara screws with Mayuri. He's pretty much the only character who gets to do that, as Mayuri is one of the few characters who actually has an accurate understanding of just how scary Urahara is (Aizen also gets it). 2) Komamura isn't dead--he's now stuck as a wolf, just as the clan elder is stuck as a wolf. He can't speak or wield a sword any more, but he's alive and conscious. 3) I won't spoil exactly why Bambi is terrified, but she has VERY good reason to be. The Quincy rarely have any loyalty to each other, and most will happily kill one another (or worse) if they show any sign of weakness.

there are some bankai that are forbidden to use in soul society and shinji's bankai is one of them. His bankai affects everyone around him turning everyone against each other.
I understand the frustration with Toshiro, he acts and talks mature and like he's the big dog, but then he gets sonned in the same fight and somebody else has to bail him out. It's byakuya but without the ability to back it up most of the time. Not saying he's weak, but he continuously gets paired up in fights where he gets outclassed.
Toshiro has the issue of having some of the single worst matchups in the show. Kid keeps ending up matched with the stronger people which sucks because he takes nothing but Ls. Shinji’s Bankai here is a new Anime Only scene! It was first shown in CFYOW (Can’t Fear Your Own World) which is a 3 book Bleach novel. The ending scenes with Ichigo are also anime-only and sent us lore people into a frenzy. You picking up it was the SK was great. The older dog basically benefits from Komomura transforming. Basically becoming a full dog that only the older one can understand and eating his heart expands his lifespan. A case of the old taking advantage of the youth with no shame
Some people complaining why vizards didnt hollowfy in TYBW. There isnt a clear explanation from kubo but there are some theory 1. Vizards didnt have time to use it because battle so quick happen. Even quite odd because you can immediately hollowfy when face an enemy. 2. There are some rule , restriction or kind of that which forbid capten level use hollowfication, because everyone who didnt hollowfy in this arc only vizard captain .
I love that the Quincies don't understand that Bankai have a mind of their own, it really show how little they understand the connection between a Soul reaper and their Zanpakuto. Shinji has some of the most overpowered abilities and he's one of the few that can explain his ability and theres nothing his opponent can do about it (unless they have AOE abilities or they're Aizen). Also his Bankai wasn't even in the manga, it was in the light novel, so we got some nice anime only content. Komamura had that dog in him. So I don't fully understand the Komamura situation, but from what I can tell it wasn't a time limit but he was immortal until he chose revenge and then he reverted to his dog form, at least that's how I understand it. (The old dog seemed to know he would choose revenge and thats why he told him the technique so he could then eat his heart, but I don't know for what purpose) Respect to Iba for respecting his Captain even after turning into a literal dog. "I knew he wasn't gonna die because he's the MC" to be fair he has died before and that only slowed him down a little lol
So ichigo is basically being tested physically and spiritually. He's getting force fed visions of crucial events in the past. As a vessel if his body and soul can withstand everything thats happening to him...he comes out of this busted. Simple and plain. Edit- those lights of reishi are symbolic. the vizards captins cant use their hollow mask in the sertei bec of the central 46 , they put a law which contains that it is forforbidden for them to use their masks in the sertei thats why if you remember when kensi wanted to train hisagi for his bankai he brought machiro with him and moved far from the sereti so that machiro can use her hollow mask .

Ok ok, i gotta comment on this: Bazz-b powers are not comparable to Yamamoto. Theyre just both fire types and that's it. The fact that bazz-b could protect himself and 2 other Ritters from Ryuujin Jakka's strike to take just a minimum damage doesnt place them on the same stage. Yamamoto wasnt even trying. Also, the difference between Ryuujin Jakka (Shikai) and Zanka no Tachi (Bankai) is colossal. One swing from Zanka no tachi and the target desintegrates. It was the most powerful bankai in bleach. Bazz-b is still strong, but cmon...
Anyone telling you that Hitsugaya isn't a child is so dead wrong that it isn't even funny. He is absolutely still a child. He may be decades old, but souls mature at a slower rate in Soul Society. So by Soul Society's standards, he is still a child.

There's this formula of balance with Bleach, like one person must be one or complete, if not you're done: hollow + human + quincy + shinigami = Equilibrium while; human + quincy = the same yet not the same human + hollow = prey and predator (death) human + shinigami = protector (coexistence) quincy + hollow = a natural danger to each other (death either by consuming or what happened to masaki) shinigami + hollow = predator and hunter v.v. natural opposite of each other: human is the opposite of hollows quincy is the opposite of shinigami one opposes or keep control of the other, and through this formula we can dive into the matter of hollowfication: Urahara was able to stop the soul suicide of Shinji and the gang with the blood of human and quincy's, being an opposition blood to what Shinji has in their dna (shinigami and hollow) With masaki, she has quincy and hollow conflicting in her, causing for her soul to decay, and what Urahara needed is a human + shinigami dynamic, thus asking for Isshin to enter a gigai. With all this, Ichigo being all four is a representation of the balance of the world of bleach, he won't survive or keep being sane with only being 2 or 3 of the said race. He is either an only human, or a mix of two of which can coexist together, or all 4. If not he will go through soul suicide, having his soul to explode or decay.
Toshiro only has like 3 Ls 2 Aizen 1 Bazz B and everyone got packed up by aizen and bazz b was a straight disadvantage especially without his bankai he has as of right now 3 dubs harribel though it got interrupted, shawlong and lippel and cang du so hes 4-3 right now plus hes not fully matured since he 500 yrs old ( basically a kid in soul society terms) his devlopment is sort of like ichigos where he gets stronger over time. Fun Fact by the way his bankai is banned in soul society because how broken and dangerous it is and it originally wasnt shown in the manga so this was insane for kubo to show it in the anime also shinji rizzing up bambietta was clean af lol
Kommamura win is my second favourite episode of the cour. Just has it all, visuals sound, an awesome power up, spectacular fight and the sadness in the end. Iba picking up his captain is beautiful too. Only thing that I dont like is that he just kinda killed bambi (she would have died for good by bleeding out instead of just beeing cut to pieces instantly. Why finish her off by giselles hand instead of my boy kommamura :/ ) so it doesnt feel like a 100% victory, just like a 99%. Still episode for me is easily a 9,8/10

Personally for me, Sajin's bankai is the one I would probably never go with. While his scene was really cool and being immortal for that period of time, still no. Bankai form is too huge and it's a bigger target for yourself. It's like if Kenny just jumped up and sliced it in half, you would be dead or have a terrible injury to recover from. But yeah as for personal zanpauktos, Sajin's Tengen Myo oh is not the one 😅

Tell me, simple question. Why didn't apply to Shinji when Aizen was getting cut? Aizen was making fun of Shinji's abilities because there's no control. It's just reverse everything. Shinji can't hide what's there, can't add something fake, and can't fine tune it so the person doesn't know they are under mental control. Aizen can hide what's there, add something that's not, and control all senses to a precise degree. Soi Fon is direct. Aizen was weaker than Ywach when Ywach was destroying the 3 worlds with his spiritual pressure alone. He absorbed the Soul King and saw ALL reality. He undid Ichigo's Bankai and absorbed all Shrifts. He was clearly stronger than Aizen, anyone who says otherwise is coping. Yet was still under his influence. Let that sink in. A guy who's existence was destroying multiple universes and has the ability to see all outcomes was being hypnotize by Aizen. That's not a simple battle of Spiritual Pressure.
I personally think that one's a retcon, because if Sakanade always worked the way it does in TYBW, Aizen wouldn't even be able to understand what Shinji was saying. Back in the fake Karakura Town, all he could do was reverse the sense of direction, but here, it reverses everything you do.
Not sure if anyone already answered your question but the reason the older dog was so hyped is because he extends his life with the hearts he eats, so the implication is that part of the reason we don’t see more of komamura’s clan( outside of them being ashamed of the looks the way he used to be) is that there aren’t many left as the older dog tricked them into giving up there hearts to( probably with the promise that they’ll go back to looking human’ish?) eat there hearts and extend his life. At least that’s the conclusion I got from that, he just selfish and sinister

Kommamura's fate has links to Buddhism. By pursuing vengeance he is becoming more like an animal, we aren't told why souls end up in the animal realm in Bleach (one of the worst realms to end up in as far as Buddhism) but it's likely something to do with the theme of vengeance. A situation where you aren't as bad as someone who would end up in Hell, but you still sinned and gave in to a toxic and basic emotion. Its very deep story telling there but I do not think Kommamura did anything wrong unlike Tousen personally. I can see how vengeance can lead you astray easily though and is generally not something to be embraced.
The thing is, Komamura wanted to sacrifice everything just to get his revenge. If he just continued fighting vs Yhwach for the sake of peace, he'd remain his usual fox/dog form, but he wanted to sacrifice his own life for an unlimited power needed for him to kill Yhwach. Which, I believe, in this part of the story, could be possible.

when Ichigo's mother was infected by the hollow she was about to die if not for the intervention of Urahara and Isshin, this was a clue that hollows are poisonous and deadly to the quincy. I understand your frustration in seeing Toshiro defeated several times, but in the battle with bazz-b I didn't expect a victory considering that without bankai it is almost impossible to beat a Sternritter.
Shinji didn't use bankai on Bambietta because it's useless in a 1vs1 battle, also he didn't have time to put on his mask, I still don't think he would have been able to beat Bambietta since her power is almost a perfect counter. In Bleach it is not always easy to understand power-levels because it is based a lot on skills, it is not impossible to see a weaker character win a battle with a stronger opponent if his power is a counter to that of the opponent.

If you remember back when Aizen first reveled that he was still alive, Lieutenant Kotetsu said Aizen showed all the Lieutenants his Shikai; which was a running water type zanpakuto which'd used mist to confuse enemies into attacking each other. Kind of a foreshadow to Shinjis' Bankai; although obviously Shinji dont use water lol. And Aizen was Shinjis lieutenants as well, so.
idk who is saying bazz-b's fire is comparable to yamamoto's.... but it's not even close. he barely managed to save himself and the other 2 sternritters that jumped Yamamoto before his fight with fake yhwach, using his own fire, essentially using the fight fire with fire mentality(which is a real thing with actual real world fires). but no bazz-b aint nothing compared to him. XD also toshiro is hundreds of years old, but is still a teenage by the standards of soul society. Spiritual being can lives much longer. Yamamoto was somehwere between 1000-2000 years old as an example.
(To be clear there are no spoilers here. These statements are stated in the manga at this time) Read the manga. His flames while weaker were stated to be able to protect him and his comrades against the flames just enough. Nobody is arguing Bazz-B would defeat Yama, he was clearly outmatched, but he is a stronger than average Sternritter. If you want to read ahead you will see the sorts of foes he can fight toe to toe with too beyond what we have already seen in the anime. He destroyed Toshiro easily as we already saw and knew full well he could defeat his bankai.

- Rukia isn't even 200, since when she met Ichigo she said that she's lived "nearly" ten of his lives so that'd be ~150
- Rukia's age is important since Renji was seen to be around the same when the met in the flashback.
- Now with Rukia and Renji joining the academy it was implied that Izuru Kira and Hinamori Momo are around the same age as well.
- As a reference their time at the academy was around 50 years ago, because when Aizen saved Momo and crew from the hallows Gin was still the lieutenant of squad 5 and according to Rukia Gin became a captain only around the same time Byakuya did.
- Hisagi Shuhei's age is important to since he was a senpai (senior) in the academy so he should be slightly older than Rukia, Renji, Momo and Kira.
- Hisagi Shuhei as seen in TurnBack the Pendulum flashback was a child when Kensei saved him from a Hallow and that was barely over 100 years ago.
- Back to Momo, she visited Toshiro when she was enrolled in the academy and he was still a child to her.
- So taking Gin and Byakuya' age into account as well as Hisagi's, all of them being kids in TurnBack the Pendulum 100 years ago, all that implies that Toshiro is clearly less than 100 years old.

- Now with Rukia and Renji joining the academy it was implied that Izuru Kira and Hinamori Momo are around the same age as well.
- As a reference their time at the academy was around 50 years ago, because when Aizen saved Momo and crew from the hallows Gin was still the lieutenant of squad 5 and according to Rukia Gin became a captain only around the same time Byakuya did.
- Hisagi Shuhei's age is important to since he was a senpai (senior) in the academy so he should be slightly older than Rukia, Renji, Momo and Kira.
- Hisagi Shuhei as seen in TurnBack the Pendulum flashback was a child when Kensei saved him from a Hallow and that was barely over 100 years ago.
- Back to Momo, she visited Toshiro when she was enrolled in the academy and he was still a child to her.
- So taking Gin and Byakuya' age into account as well as Hisagi's, all of them being kids in TurnBack the Pendulum 100 years ago, all that implies that Toshiro is clearly less than 100 years old.
Kubo confirmed on Kluboutside earlier this yr that Toushirou is older than Momo when a fan asked him. those Q&As over there he always does

- What I gathered is from the few times specific years and statements were given.
- For some reason people assume the current Shinigami's and Captains are "hundreds of years old" when that can only apply to Yamamoto, Unohana, Shunsui and Ukitake.
- Most captains at the Soul Society arc were in fact younger than people assume given that Soifon, Gin, Aizen, Byakuya, Komomura, Kaname, Toshiro have been in captaincy less that 100 years and even Mayuri considered the Quincy a rarity, stating to Uryu they were a dying breed when he became captain of squad 12 less than 100 years ago, implying he probably wasn't around for the Quincy extermination 200 years ago.
1) I love how Urahara screws with Mayuri. He's pretty much the only character who gets to do that, as Mayuri is one of the few characters who actually has an accurate understanding of just how scary Urahara is (Aizen also gets it).
2) Komamura isn't dead--he's now stuck as a wolf, just as the clan elder is stuck as a wolf. He can't speak or wield a sword any more, but he's alive and conscious.
3) I won't spoil exactly why Bambi is terrified, but she has VERY good reason to be. The Quincy rarely have any loyalty to each other, and most will happily kill one another (or worse) if they show any sign of weakness.

So basically Konomura could have kept his Immortal body if only he did not try to do any sort of revenge but the Grandfather never told him that so once Sajin went towards the quincy king to take revenge for killing yama he has malice intent aka activating the curse in which makes him turn into a full wolf..
there are some bankai that are forbidden to use in soul society and shinji's bankai is one of them. His bankai affects everyone around him turning everyone against each other.

I understand the frustration with Toshiro, he acts and talks mature and like he's the big dog, but then he gets sonned in the same fight and somebody else has to bail him out. It's byakuya but without the ability to back it up most of the time. Not saying he's weak, but he continuously gets paired up in fights where he gets outclassed.

Toshiro has the issue of having some of the single worst matchups in the show. Kid keeps ending up matched with the stronger people which sucks because he takes nothing but Ls.
Shinji’s Bankai here is a new Anime Only scene! It was first shown in CFYOW (Can’t Fear Your Own World) which is a 3 book Bleach novel. The ending scenes with Ichigo are also anime-only and sent us lore people into a frenzy. You picking up it was the SK was great.
The older dog basically benefits from Komomura transforming. Basically becoming a full dog that only the older one can understand and eating his heart expands his lifespan. A case of the old taking advantage of the youth with no shame

Some people complaining why vizards didnt hollowfy in TYBW.
There isnt a clear explanation from kubo but there are some theory
1. Vizards didnt have time to use it because battle so quick happen. Even quite odd because you can immediately hollowfy when face an enemy.
2. There are some rule , restriction or kind of that which forbid capten level use hollowfication, because everyone who didnt hollowfy in this arc only vizard captain .
I love that the Quincies don't understand that Bankai have a mind of their own, it really show how little they understand the connection between a Soul reaper and their Zanpakuto.
Shinji has some of the most overpowered abilities and he's one of the few that can explain his ability and theres nothing his opponent can do about it (unless they have AOE abilities or they're Aizen). Also his Bankai wasn't even in the manga, it was in the light novel, so we got some nice anime only content.

So I don't fully understand the Komamura situation, but from what I can tell it wasn't a time limit but he was immortal until he chose revenge and then he reverted to his dog form, at least that's how I understand it. (The old dog seemed to know he would choose revenge and thats why he told him the technique so he could then eat his heart, but I don't know for what purpose)

So ichigo is basically being tested physically and spiritually. He's getting force fed visions of crucial events in the past. As a vessel if his body and soul can withstand everything thats happening to him...he comes out of this busted. Simple and plain.

the vizards captins cant use their hollow mask in the sertei bec of the central 46 , they put a law which contains that it is forforbidden for them to use their masks in the sertei thats why if you remember when kensi wanted to train hisagi for his bankai he brought machiro with him and moved far from the sereti so that machiro can use her hollow mask .

Bazz-b powers are not comparable to Yamamoto. Theyre just both fire types and that's it. The fact that bazz-b could protect himself and 2 other Ritters from Ryuujin Jakka's strike to take just a minimum damage doesnt place them on the same stage. Yamamoto wasnt even trying. Also, the difference between Ryuujin Jakka (Shikai) and Zanka no Tachi (Bankai) is colossal. One swing from Zanka no tachi and the target desintegrates. It was the most powerful bankai in bleach. Bazz-b is still strong, but cmon...

There's this formula of balance with Bleach, like one person must be one or complete, if not you're done:
hollow + human + quincy + shinigami = Equilibrium
while;
human + quincy = the same yet not the same
human + hollow = prey and predator (death)
human + shinigami = protector (coexistence)
quincy + hollow = a natural danger to each other (death either by consuming or what happened to masaki)
shinigami + hollow = predator and hunter v.v.
natural opposite of each other:
human is the opposite of hollows
quincy is the opposite of shinigami
one opposes or keep control of the other, and through this formula we can dive into the matter of hollowfication:
Urahara was able to stop the soul suicide of Shinji and the gang with the blood of human and quincy's, being an opposition blood to what Shinji has in their dna (shinigami and hollow)
With masaki, she has quincy and hollow conflicting in her, causing for her soul to decay, and what Urahara needed is a human + shinigami dynamic, thus asking for Isshin to enter a gigai.
With all this, Ichigo being all four is a representation of the balance of the world of bleach, he won't survive or keep being sane with only being 2 or 3 of the said race. He is either an only human, or a mix of two of which can coexist together, or all 4. If not he will go through soul suicide, having his soul to explode or decay.

Toshiro only has like 3 Ls 2 Aizen 1 Bazz B and everyone got packed up by aizen and bazz b was a straight disadvantage especially without his bankai he has as of right now 3 dubs harribel though it got interrupted, shawlong and lippel and cang du so hes 4-3 right now plus hes not fully matured since he 500 yrs old ( basically a kid in soul society terms) his devlopment is sort of like ichigos where he gets stronger over time.
Fun Fact by the way his bankai is banned in soul society because how broken and dangerous it is and it originally wasnt shown in the manga so this was insane for kubo to show it in the anime also shinji rizzing up bambietta was clean af lol
Kommamura win is my second favourite episode of the cour. Just has it all, visuals sound, an awesome power up, spectacular fight and the sadness in the end. Iba picking up his captain is beautiful too.
Only thing that I dont like is that he just kinda killed bambi (she would have died for good by bleeding out instead of just beeing cut to pieces instantly. Why finish her off by giselles hand instead of my boy kommamura :/ ) so it doesnt feel like a 100% victory, just like a 99%.

Personally for me, Sajin's bankai is the one I would probably never go with. While his scene was really cool and being immortal for that period of time, still no. Bankai form is too huge and it's a bigger target for yourself. It's like if Kenny just jumped up and sliced it in half, you would be dead or have a terrible injury to recover from. But yeah as for personal zanpauktos, Sajin's Tengen Myo oh is not the one 😅
