Dan, my brother. Even though this was painful to watch it actually reminded me of my first time learning this machine. Well, I have the DeWalt one that shows the thickness offset going in so it was a bit easier. You will get this I am sure! I love how Mrs. Guns makes sure you don't gnaw off your fingers.
Good luck with these! I think you’re gonna need it.
If you want to plane thinner than 6mm, mount it to another board and then send it through. The board should be flat, hot glue or double face table it. You can also, put a spacer under your board to help plane it float too.
Good tips, thanks!
Hey Dan, hi Jenna! Been really busy this week.
Didn't get to see this until just now! God bless
ya's & the kiddos. See you next time...
Was hoping to see your opinion on the Jointer. I've just set mine up today and I'm pretty pleased considering the price point.
The planer is still prohibitively expensive but one thing at a time.
If you have time to comment on how it's held up over your usage I'd appreciate it.
One thing I have to say, they package the planer well, even tapped down the banding straps.
I've ordered a few vevor items and have been very satisfied.
Good to know, thanks!
That is definitely a great deal on some very handy tools that any person would love to have in a workshop, very nice indeed...
Vevor Le Vevor 😆
Fantastic Guys ...
✌😎👍
😂
I got my Delta thickness planer at a Pawn shop, so that worked. I do like these, however, and definitely for electric guitar bodies, these would be super helpful. My Delta has 3 blades, too. As of now I don't have a jointer, but I'll be keeping my eyes open.
One type of product I would love to find in good and affordable is a thickness sander, since acoustic guitar work requires quite thin wood and the planers often don't get it thin enough without chunking sections out of it. And I'm sad I missed the live stream, but it must have been really late for me in central time.
Awesome to hear about being about ready to move to the new property. Looking forward to seeing how that goes for you all, and hoping it's a great place for you, Mrs. Guns and the family.
Where do I get replacement blades and what are the reference number for ordering.
Thanks
Shay (Ireland)
Let use know what the knives/blades look like? always looking for a bargain myself!
Interested in how well these work. Especially the thickness planer. I'm wanting to use one to recycle pallet wood I get free from work for various projects. Maybe some CBG stuff eventually. I've been eyeing the one that Harbor Freight sells. Which is a 12 1/2 at about $10 more than this one.
I had the Harbor Freight one and it worked great. Too bad it got stolen.
I’m pretty sure these are made in the same factory as the harbor freight ones
You need to peel the blue plastic film off so bord can slide better
A planer would certainly make my laminated neck design easier to build. Also, that wobbly table gives me anxiety 😁
Only a couple more weeks on that wobbly table and hopefully I can build myself a nice new sturdy one in my new workshop shed!
I've been eyeing the planer/jointer combo. It seems too good to be true and I'd never heard of the brand.
I got the Craftsman for 300. I can't get rid if about for inches of snipe on each side though.
For what its worth, this seems to be the direct from china brand i see showing up on ali express most. For my low end purchase, i went with Wen for a spiral planer.l and many other tools
My drill press is a WEN unit. Good stuff, good price, good value. Ebay often beats Amazon and Harbor Freight.
@@normbarrows i have the benchtop Wen drill press. That was my first Wen tool. It has some limitations, but i bought it years ago and it’s still spinning and doing its thing.
Also interested to see more on how this thickness planer performs. Been looking for one for awhile but I only trusted the Dewalt and am hesitant to spend that much haha
I’ll be sure to do an updated video after I’ve put some hours on these machines. So far I’m impressed for the price, we will see how it holds up!
@@GunsandGuitars Awesome! One thing I’ve seen in previous comparisons between budget friendly models like this and the coveted Dewalt ones, is the difference in board thickness side to side, indicating a less than perfectly parallel cut.
That looks like a cheap copy of my Craftsman Industrial 13" planer. same exact layout but a slightly different design. I imagine it's from the same factory.
You are probably correct. I think all these cheaper options are made in the same factories
Curious as to how the hold up.
Nice!
Sorry I missed your live stream. Didn't start until 11pm on the East Coast. 😴
I wish someone would show how to use the blade setting tool. The manual is no help at all.
Sorry I missed the live, was on past my bedtime
Please get a Lav mic among all the purchases.
Got something better coming. Hopefully the next livestream the audio will be much better
Dan please get a lapel mic
Got some better stuff coming I promise!
Just hit the links today:, both of the items are 10% off
I love your show🥴, but sometimes I just want to scream, get on with it!
We don't need to vote on everything.
🙌
Missed the live. It was way too late for me...
Con máy quá tuyệt 👍
That planer is a piece of crap. Works fine for some time. Customer service do they best to avoid replacing it and come with solutions like we send you some parts and you fix it.
I got banned from this livestream for absolutely no reason 😢😢😢😢
