I am neither a medical professional nor a nutritionist, but from what I hear walking or light exercises after meal helps burn excess glucose in the blood. That way the body doesn't have to produce too much insulin.

If we eat too much sugar, protein, ( yes, protein will break into amino acids when it comes into liver, and liver will convert amino acids into glucose, then glycogen.), then pancreas keep sending too much insulin to push glucose into the cells . Cells have too much sugar and do not want sugar from blood anymore. Thus we have insulin resistance. When we eat carbs and proteins, those food will be converted into glucose, even good carbs and good protein. So, we need proper amount of insulin to be healthy. For diabetics, they eat too much carbs and protein and they do not exercise, so, they have insulin resistance. God creates pancreas, insulin for a good purpose. We need insulin. It is why diabetic type 1 need insulin, otherwise they die.
