My blood sugar went down from a 12 down to a 6. Thank you. I had to learn to change my eating habits. Type two diabetic. Now I am almost beating diabetes. Thank you so much.
That's fantastic to hear! It sounds like you've found a great combination of supplements and diet that works well for you. Berberine, bitter melon, cinnamon, and gymnema are all known for their potential benefits in managing blood sugar levels, and it's great that you're feeling positive results with a low sugar and carb intake. It's always encouraging to hear success stories from the community! Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!

Dr Ergin, thank you again for another very good and inciteful video. I have been watching your videos for the last 6 years and I am a very happy and fit 76 year old with no chronic disease and no pain. When I started to watch you I had painful arthritis in two fingers and peripheral neuropathy covering 90% of both feet. By listening to you and a couple of other very helpful doctors I am now pain free and my arthritis and neuropathy have both disappeared.
I have a continuous glucose meter and drink 20 ounces of water every 20 minutes until I see it go down. Mine takes about 60 ounces of water to go down. Double your water intake on the regular. This will help.
Me too - 3 months to come from a reading of 12.4. I've been a diabetic for 14 years and have maintained a healthy, stable control of my blood glucose levels until now. Good luck.
I just got my Stelo and this feedback about what I am doing RIGHT is extremely useful. I record a reading at mealtime, then record what I ate. About an hour later, I record another reading to indicate my reaction to the food. My goal, is not to spike very much, and reduce my Average glucose level to the 90’s…down from 106 ave. it is $99 for two fifteen day segments…and this sure beats guessing about what my body is doing with various meals.
I have had diabetes for 5 years now it was 10.7 but now its getting better but still a long way to go .. my fasting blood sugar is usually more than my after meal readings or equal.. my fasting sugar level is always around 115,120 but my after meal readings keeps shifting from as low as 94 to 130 and ie with medicine and one hour of walk after meal ...
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the video. If you have any questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out or explore our other content. Stay healthy!

Hello Dr. Can you do a video on people who have to be on Prednisone and they are diabetic. I'm on Lispro Kwik and Lantus long acting and I'm struggling with highs and lows. I'm eating as clean as I can. Please help!
Managing diabetes on prednisone is tough since it raises blood sugar. Here’s what can help: Adjust Insulin: Work with your doctor to fine-tune doses for highs/lows. Monitor Often: Check sugar levels frequently, especially after meals. Eat Smart: Opt for low-glycemic foods and pair carbs with protein/fats. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to combat dehydration from high sugar. Plan for Tapering: Reduce insulin carefully if prednisone is tapered. Stay in touch with your doctor-help is available!

I am on a continuous glucose monitor and have been having these really scary lows in the middle of the night, sometimes the alarm on my monitor wakes me up, but sometimes it doesn't. Now I always check my graph in the morning and am seeing that my glucose dips down as low as 45, which seems really scary to me. When I told my doctor, she seemed completely unconcerned and told me to cut back on my long acting Tresiba I take at night. I cut it back, but this is still happening. What could be causing this? It never happened before and I have been a diabetic for over 30 years with an A1C of 4.9, so my blood sugar is under good control. This really has me freaked out. I am afraid I am going to go into a coma in the middle of the night and that will be it. Has this happened to anyone else on here?
Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s completely understandable that experiencing such low blood sugar levels, especially at night, can feel very alarming. While it’s reassuring that your A1C is under control, frequent nighttime lows like the ones you’re describing might still require some adjustments to your insulin regimen or other aspects of your management plan. It’s a good idea to bring this up with your healthcare provider again, perhaps discussing the possibility of adjusting your insulin dose or timing, or even using a continuous glucose monitor with alarms to alert you earlier. You’re definitely not alone in facing this. Many people with diabetes experience nighttime lows, often referred to as “nocturnal hypoglycemia,” especially when taking long-acting insulin. Sharing your concerns with others who have had similar experiences can be helpful. Remember, it's important to advocate for yourself in discussions with your doctor if something doesn’t feel right. In the meantime, tracking when these dips occur and whether any specific factors (like meals or activity) could be contributing might also provide additional insights. Stay safe, and don’t hesitate to seek a second opinion if needed.
I saw you a few times in Destin Fl while you were a doctor here. I remember asking you about Berberine. You had never heard of it at this time a few years ago.

I eat mediterranean, not a big fan of keto/high protein as it's not sustainable for me. I do 20-minute pilates every morning followed by 10 min stretching. I take dihydroberberine and acv in a glass of water before my main meal I drink a lot of lemon water. Most days, I walk after my meal. I recently discovered I'm gluten sensitive, cutting that out and dary. I don't drink coffee as it hits the adrenals very hard. I wash my fruit and veggies with bicarb. I have physically lost my appetite and the constant food noise. The only serious problem I have is poor sleep, I can't seem to fix that. Wish I could measure my glucose, but it appears everything is working so far. These videos are incredible. Quickest I have subbed, thank you.
Propolis, honey, and vinegar each have potential health benefits. Propolis is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, honey may help with wound healing and offer some antimicrobial benefits, and vinegar (like apple cider vinegar) is sometimes used to help regulate blood sugar. However, always consult with your healthcare provider before adding them to your routine, especially if you're managing blood sugar.
@elton71671, A well-balanced plant-based diet can certainly be beneficial for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Keep watching and share with friends and family! For more content visit sugarmds.com 😊.
Thank you for sharing your approach! Reducing carbs and sugars can indeed help some people manage blood sugar levels, and high-protein, high-fat diets like keto are options that many have explored. However, it's important to remember that every individual is different, and what works for one person may not be the best approach for another, especially when managing long-term health and maintaining balanced nutrition. It’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider or a dietitian to ensure that any diet plan supports overall health and well-being. Have you found that this approach works well for you over time?
LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults) can indeed make weight management challenging. It's important to work with your healthcare provider to tailor a meal plan that includes nutrient-dense foods to support healthy weight gain without causing blood sugar spikes. Consider speaking with a dietitian who specializes in diabetes for personalized guidance.
Eat organic grown fresh produce when you can, it costs more to begin with but you save in better health and lower medical bills. Is it worthwhile?
