They had a pretty good hit in the Midwest with "He Was Really Sayin' Something". I think this group was one girl group too many for Motown's already loaded-enough roster, and people (even the narrator here, it seems) confused them with Martha & the Vandellas. Nevertheless, I saw them live and they were impeccable representatives of the Motown image and sound, a surprisingly glamorous and personable group..They just needed their own "Where Did Our Love Go" to take off big time, but they will always be known for "Needle in a Haystack", a classic Motown single.
Who was your favorite artists from _THE VELVELETTES?*_
All of them.
All of the Velvelettes members would be my favorite. The whole group is my favorite.
I hate click bait photos and automated voices. Not watching this channel again.
Great group

Nobody can't never ever take her place
So many mistakes & repetition! The Velvelettes did not record 'Dancing in the Street'! The automated voice is awful.
They deserve better than this crummy AI narration.
