This is why i have always vetted friends. It would be years before i openly share anything. 1. Get to know who people truly are. 2. Use positive words to build up and not tear down 3. Never have private conversations about anyone , ( when you messy it follows you).
OMG, Erin this was so good and so me. Searching for authentic friends, sometimes I would just cry because it can be extremely hard. The worst thing for me is when you open up and then find people out(that they are not authentic) it can be so exhausting especially with women. I pray that people will take the gems from this video and be open to change, to growth, to evolving
I found myself feeling more defeat than a lot of jealousy because I saw myself doing this one thing all my life and it has yet to happen. One thing I love about me is not settling and not giving up easily!
It’s hurtful when you experience jealously from people who you thought were your true friends. Unfortunately I had to let go of friendships after 40 and 50 years due to jealously. Jealousy can rear it’s ugly head at any age. It’s makes you want to close yourself off from people. However, I’ve learned that there is a reason and season for everything. Also rejections are protections in disguise.
This topic is necessary. As a licensed therapist, I often tell my clients, it's okay to feel every emotion, they often come without warning. We have power over what we do after we feel an emotion jealousy. Like you said in your video, we can use the jealousy to get inspired or elevated. Jealousy is painful. To see someone you love experience pain over your success, feel painful. It's very important for confident individuals to stay connected to a loving community of other confident individuals to avoid feeling depleted. You were spot on when you said, "Jealousy can be felt." Love can be felt, which is why it is a MUST to be intentional about the love connection.
Whewwwww. This was so well needed. I am in my "isolation era" because I feel like I've reached a point in my life where I have become "unrelatable" in my old friendships. That unrelatability has started to feel a lot like jealousy and i couldn't understand it because those people watched me put in all the work behind the scenes. But like Michelle Obama said, everyone cant go with you to the top. I just think a lot of us arent prepared for WHO we have to leave behind. I know I sure wasnt! But the way i see it now, those voids they left are spaces for the new connections I'll make!
This is a beautiful response. I am going through this as well. Knowing the WHO to leave behind and WHO will climb can can be a powerful push or a dangerous setback. It's THAT important.
Loosing friends this way is so hard, and its also hard to look back on when I was the jealous friend. I recognize much of it was because I was highly unsatisfied with my life at that point and decided to walk away from a friendship I could no longer show up for. Great Video Erin, I like the sit down, maybe discuss more topics on issues high achievers face that people don't think about.
Having supportive people who celebrate your wins and vice versa is important. Yes! Cut off toxic people immediately! Move forward and leave them in their toxicity.
I'm so happy you made this video! I've been so heartbroken about feeling like people around me are envious of what I'm doing/have. It definitely makes you feel like people are questioning whether you've earned it. This is refreshing topic because no one is talking about it from this point of view even though many of us feel this same way. I love seeing people doing something that inspires me--iron sharpens iron. I want others to keep winning because it fires me up to do the same!!
Your vulnerability was courageous and beautiful. You spoke on a topic that unfortunately plagues us all, and it takes maturity and experience to face it and work through it. Keep your light shining sis!
Times when I have felt jealous it has been rooted partly in my own fears about my own self worth that become more intense when I see myself in contrast to people I admire and don’t feel confident that I am as capable as they are. When I was younger I would project the idea on them that they think they are better than me but the reality was that I was afraid they were better than me and that meant I wasn’t good enough. Now I am happy with who I am and appreciate the different kinds of amazing that we all are. You make a great point about not knowing what a person goes through to live out who they are, eg. I used to judge management in companies I worked in. Now I run my own company and my husband runs his and we know, the guy at the top takes all the risk and most of the responsibility, even if not always the work itself. Anyway cool topic and yes, I love an unscripted hang out and share video 🧡 Rock on, Erin! Thank you for making life better for your listeners!
Thank you for sharing this. When I felt this from the closest person to me at the time, I did not know how to process it. Thank you for talking about this topic from the receiving end. It really does impact you.
Full transparency: I love it here, after years of anxiety and battling postpartum depression, I’m finally getting back to myself and living. Like Erin I used to be a high achiever, very creative, I was traveling and just living girl lol. So to hear her speak I can definitely relate and I feel inspired to get back to living and her chanel is the kick in the butt for me bc idk anyone personally who thinks, moves and aspires like I do. Erin’s channel helps me to just do it anyway and I just love it here.
I so resonate with all of this! I started to distance myself from those people and now they’re all wondering or thinking something is wrong with me when I’ve been the butt of the lack of acknowledgment, support and jealously…
"life begins at the end of your comfort zone" sooo true. I'm stagnant because I don't want to step out i don't believe certain things can happen for me, it's a never ending cycle
Erin, I have always been a person who compares herself to others, and I also experienced jealousy although thankfully I learned how to use it to move myself in the direction I want my life to go. But I swear, and I really have no reason to lie, all the amazing stuff you bring to youtube (your beauty, your body, your talents, your success, your loving relationship and more) have never caused any jealousy in me. Why? Because I see the intention you put into achieving and maintaining those things. You didn't win the lottery, you worked hard and question yourself so much to constantly improve. As a jealous person, I only have pure admiration for you girl!
Well said!! I experienced something similar …and something I always say is find your tribe. Whatever you do and wherever you go find your people and be confident in creating the life that feels the most fulfilling to you.
Love to see that you’re doing videos like this now ❤ Gives a vulnerable side and understanding of what goes on mentally and emotionally behind building the business. Reminds me of your beginnings on RUclips. This is beautiful. ✨Back to the basics sis!
love how compassionate you seemed towards those evil jealous people. wish they could have the same compassion for us. but honestly i think they like being bitter. its easier then doing the hard work it.
This was a very good video, thanks for your insight! I’ve dealt with jealousy for quite a while and I’m not even fully where I wanna be yet.. but at the end of the day I gotta keep going for myself! Much love to you 💕
Another awesome vlog Erin and it's a good topic for discussion. I don't get Jealous of anyone because I think it's a waste of time and energy and I need to use my time and energy for more important things. Love 🥰 the vlog and love 💕 Erin.
It’s not always about people being jealous of what you have, materialistically Speaking. It could be that people are envious of who you are. Some people are not motivated to become a better version of themselves. May it be because they allow fear to take over, or they have become complacent, or they don’t have it in them to be successful, so they look at you with a negative mindset. Unfortunately, there are people like this, so what you are saying is very accurate. I experienced it, and the bad part is I received this behavior from my own family.
Hi Erin, this was insightful! I appreciate you sharing your perspective on the topic. People need to hear both sides of jealousy. So this video is important! I have learned that jealousy does not serve you. It holds you back and blinds you from seeing the full picture to understand others who are successful.
I loveeee this Erin! 🙌🏾Thank you for speaking on this! 👏🏾👏🏾& I have dealt with so much jealousy in my life especially from those close to me, it has grew me!! but has hurt and I felt when you said “ the jealous energy is felt” Although, I have grew to a point of thick skin and God has strengthened me to be able to take the blows and move forward 👏🏾❤️ I’m soo grateful to God for my resilience and I’ve learned too to surround myself by only those who want the best for me ❤️ & Thank you for sharing!
Healthy jealousy is a means to guard your territory and comes from a sincere care and commitment to a relationship. On the other hand, unhealthy jealousy manifests itself through lies, threats, self-pity, and feelings of inadequacy, inferiority and insecurity
This was a beautiful video. You were speaking to me hunty. I am in the process of getting my equipment for my content. And yes talking to the Camera is a skill hands down. You are so motivating for me. Thank you for you.
This was right on time for me. I went through so much heartache & depression before but last year was one of my BEST years & it seems like people were so jealous & mean for no reason. Like dang, I finally got out of the woods & no one’s cheering…they’re hating etc
Erin I LOVE this style of video!! These are it for sure 🌹🌹 I also admire how you continue to find your way through the changes and evolution of your channel it’s very inspiring to me! Keep it up girl 🩷
You know what? I've done some crazy stuff, from skydiving out of planes to riding elephants in Dubai and jet skiing on the Nile. Now I'm jealous. Let me watch this later when I cool down.
Love this type of video, please keep more coming! Sidebar: thinking about starting a business this year, do you have a business 101 playlist? Looking for tips for the very infancy of building a business phase.
Thank you for sharing chit chat! I also really enjoyed the Jay Shetty Michelle Obama interview. I always wondered how you felt with friendships being that you’re so successful. Keep going!
I would like for you (maybe you and your husband) to talk about the phases of dating. I was having a conversation and the “if she’s doing all of xyz when we’re dating, what would be the benefits of marrying her.” Some women are nurturers by nature, so we take care of the people we care about and love. So from your opinion and experience, from dating to exclusive relationship, to engagement, to marriage - is there something that changes like action wise? Is there a such thing as doing too much for a boyfriend? Etc I hope that wasn’t confusing lol, that was long winded.
I needed to hear this as I’m starting this new journey for myself (as a content creator). I wanted to do this 10 years ago, and here I am! thank you 🫶🏽
No time for jealousy 💯 I talked about the importance of maintaining friendships in my last video and I referenced Mrs. O’s book The Light We Carry. I need to listen to that podcast that you mentioned! Thanks for sharing Erin 🤍

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!!" 🙏 I needed that! ❤
Yes!! It’s been my life mantra. Xx
@@ErinOnDemand I love this. And will be adopting this as I have been playing it safe for too long!
THIS! Especially when it’s by someone you love it’s so crippling and heartbreaking and heavy 😭
Exactly!! It doesn’t matter if it’s someone who you don’t care about or love.
OMG, Erin this was so good and so me. Searching for authentic friends, sometimes I would just cry because it can be extremely hard. What a nice change of pace Erin. You should do more of these like once a month. Keep up the great work!! You're always an inspiration 😊

Love this! I think this is why as you get older you tend to have less friends. You just keep those few true friends close to you.
Erin, been subscribed to you for like 4 years, love your content. Keep going, jealousy is real x

This is so true, when a friend or someone close to you is jealous it hurts.
It's lonely at the top. Add the success mixed with survivors remorse and that's what I suffer with. Sending love Xo,
