most of those people probably arent even aware anyone is around their vehicle. they drive with blinders on and eyes glued to their phone, radio, or vanity mirror. lol
I've had an R3 for a while and feel like I'm ready to move up to the R6. My only hesitation is the seating position. I commute half the time on the R3 and enjoy occasional long trips. Is the R6 comfortable?
@@vtecninja6363 I had the same thought process before I bought my r6 also. I don't retr regret it after I bought it and started riding lol. I did a 3 hour trip the other day and it did start to get uncomfortable around 2 hours in, just had to take a break and stretch out for a few minutes. Any supersport is gonna be uncomfortable for long rides usually
@@MiataPower96 Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting a 2019 Ninja 400 and ZX-6R. The ZX-6R is a beast. I took it on a long trip and had to take a few breaks but it was doable. When I want comfort I go back to the R3 and Ninja 400.
@@vtecninja6363 oh nice! I was looking for a 2018 zx6r before I bought my r6 instead. I do think the r6 is probably the most uncomfortable of them all lol

When I went shopping for a supersport, I test rode all the major bikes. At 6'3", the 636 is the only one that fit in stock form. The R6 was awesome, but it feels absolutely miniscule next to the Kawasaki. I think with a change to the rearset it could be fixed.
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the previous R6's to look at. This bike though, it's beautiful. I also just want to say thanks, Chase. Thank you for always bringing great videos, not just the first rides, but all your other videos have great content! Keep doing what you do. You and Walterific are my favourites. ✌🏽
i need to go back and pick this bike up. im like 5’4 and when i first saw this bike i knew it would be too big and i sat on it and just felt scared but i feel soooo much more comfortable now

Yo Chase, @ 23:40 in this vid you were searching for an abs option on the cluster. That exciter rings on front and rear are not only used for abs, but also T/C(traction control). The computer uses those rings to gauge "comparable speed" between front and rear tires and can tell if one is slipping(i.e. rear going faster/slower than front, T/C kicks in to control that differential/"speed gap"). On some bikes you can adjust "abs control", but I think this R6 only has ABS always on.
I'm 6'1 and can confirm that it is not the bike for me, I can't imagine being any taller and riding this comfortably. I still own one because it's so much fun but that riding position blows for me. It was the perfect bike when I lived next to the mountains. Get off work and go straight to the canyons and like you said it's an amazing bike up there. Now I live 2 hours away from any fun roads and I'm thinking it's time for a more comfortable bike.
The powerband thing is easy to understand. The camshaft has two lobe profiles and at 8,000 the oil pressure is used to lock the high rpm cam lobes to the low rpm lobes and it pulls more air in, then the computer tells it to increase timing and push more fuel into the cylinder. Below 8k it basically only uses two valves per cylinder, then above that it switches to four. There are videos explaining VTEC/other variable valve timing systems and it's a lot like Honda's VTEC system.
Wanted to update my purchase of the 2017 R6. First off I totally enjoy this bike and the people that say it not a comfortable bike that is a half truth.
Thank you chase for providing this video! As somebody who is on a 500 right now and very undecided about the next bike to go for, this was a very nice in depth review of it. Thank you for helping me choose my next bike 🤙
I have A 2007 R6S 600 and to me it's absolutely an amazing bike all the way around.. And your 100% correct the r6's are all top end bikes really 8,000 -8,500 is where the power band kicks in
This video was one of the reasons I bought my Matte Black '17 R6 Chase. So thank you for that. Just wanted to loop back around and say this. I got it in June. This is my first ever Super Sport. Nothing to dangerous as I am TOTALLY happy with just doing the occasional burst and cruise the rest of the time. This bike is A PRESENCE more than a knee dragging instrument. I will NEVER track this bike. She scares the shit out of me whch makes me respect her. I've had her to about 110 and I am totally happy with the skill level that I ride her at. '08+ have variable length intake runners that are shortened at 8K and secondary fuel injectors kick in. This is why you feel it so distinctly pickup power. Interestingly, since the newer bikes have such high-end, hackable ECUs, you can get a controller to change these values, which can be used to really smooth out the powerband by changing when these runners open and how the fuel is delivered.
