POV - work out fasted - leave apx 1 hour before eating, that way you stimulate greater fat liberation. For as soon as insulin is spikeD - fat mobilization is STOPPED.
Been doing this and it seems to be working. HIT fasted, eat 6 eggs right after, maybe some sour dough bread, and continue to eat a normal whole food diet. Been losing a bit of fat it seems like.
@@SonsOfThunder229doing High intensity literally goes against what Jerry just explained. Any activity over 50% of heart rate/output turns into glycogen burning and less of fat. A steady low intensity workout for an hour is the most optimized fat burning method of workout according to what he explains in this video. So HIT while fasted isn’t doing much if you want to maximize fat burning.

The problem of HIIT is it produces stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline which like insulin are fat storing , flight or fight . The only way round that is long endurance cardio like cycling or exercise like that in ketogenic fat adopted state burning only fat for energy
I have read that SPRINTNG, very short distances is the best form of exercise for liberating fat from storage. The release is not done during, but post workout... i.e the after burn effect.
Alternative....
Dr Michael Moseley referred to in BBC's Horzon earlier in 2012.
After a brief warmup of gentle cycling (several minutes), pedal as fast as you can for 20 seconds
Cycle gently for 2 minutes to catch your breath
Cycle all-out again for 20 seconds, followed by 2 minutes of gentle cycling.
Repeat all-out cycling one more time.
That also triggers the after burn effect.
But if cycling does it for you - then excellent.

About carbs intake in proximity to work out - one thing, the goal is to lose fat but not muscle tissue. If I don't take carbs within that time frame my body will get the glucose from the muscle destroying it with a catabolic effect. Please correct me if I'm wrong and advise how to not lose muscle while fasting.
Are you talking about lifting weights in a fasted state? From what I understand testosterone is boosted when you lift weights while fasted, therefore the it offsets any small amount of catabolisis of the muscle. Also, you need to refuel w/ protein right away after the fasted workout to preserve muscle tissue
In general, you shouldn’t lose muscle from training on zero carbs. It is only when you’ve exhausted stored fat as an energy source that your body will catabolise muscle in to amino acids which it will then convert to glucose via gluconeogenesis. The body is clever so it will prioritise sparing it’s structures before utilising them to subserve energy requirements. Ask yourself why the body would favour muscle tissue for energy requirements over stored fat 🤷🏻♂️Of course, you need to ensure you’re eating sufficient protein to support muscle repair/growth and the various other needs that it supports eg production of enzymes, bone, skin, hair etc and protein itself is generally not oxidised for energy. Just as long as you get your protein requirements throughout the day. Studies have shown taking low dalton weight 100% hydrolyzed fragmented protein(15-20grams) with highly branched cyclic dextrin(30 grams) intra workout, you put on twice the amount of muscle as without. (2.2 versus 4 lbs).This isn’t your nice creamy sweet tasting protein but a little flavoring is mandatory in your water bottle, and it is immediately absorbed into the intestine as the dextrin totally empties the gut. L carnitine helps before and after workout and NAC/Glycine restores cellular mitochondria function and you only need it about 12 weeks once every 6 months at a couple grams of each per day. The best fat loss I ever got was using a ACV/lemon, cinnamon, dash of cayenne, on an empty stomach and did fasted walking or just 10 minute walks after a meal is even better than a 30 minute walk all at once. Hope that helps.
Wait...what?? So carbs beforehand decreases fat oxidation but working out in a fasted state doesn't help with fat oxidation either? Tf are you saying?
Once insulin has been triggered fat mobilization stops - but to say working out in a fasted state does not help - makes no sense or am I missing something?

He makes the point to say eating carbs before exercise DOES suppress how much fat you burn during exercise, but then turns right around and says "oh but studies also show you won't actually burn any more calories exercising fasted".... like WHICH IS IT, it either DOES or it DOESN'T

I would consider opting for a ketogenic diet. You’ll have much more stable blood glucose levels. If you do a search on a Dr Ryan Attar and type 1 diabetes I’m sure you can get some really helpful dietary and insulin tips from him. He has T1DM and his A1C levels are exemplary. Top bloke too! Keep carbs and fats separate by 2hrs.
@corya3189 - If you change your diet talk to your endo or the physician b/c the dosages of your basal insulin (Lantus?) and your Humalog or Novolog (if you use a protocol) for blood sugars that are based on your glucometer readings. Former RN for 25yrs. A type I diabetic is a world away from someone without your Diabetes.

How about gluconeogenesis ( the liver creating glucose when cortisol, a stress hormone is activated when doing high intensity aerobics) messing up the goal of fat burning.
So what if my protein shake has 6g of carbs? will that already prohibit fat burning if I drink it 2 hours before i train? I do mma so my training is basically full body activation for an 1hr or so maybe a little over some days.
If the protein shake has a complete amino acid profile no problem. If not it's a sugar drink. But 6grams is no big deal.
Healthy metabolisms have a higher threshold for carbs. Best to get a glucometer

@@evianx1 it’s a pure whey supplement nothing fancy just noticed that one scoop has 3g of carbs and I usually take two scoops at a time. I used to eat oats and my shake a few hours before training but now I’m just gonna stick to my shake and maybe a light protein meal. I intermittent fast and don’t train until 4:30pm so I used to use the oats to keep me fueled until my training. But since i’m more focused on losing weight/fat loss right now I’ll cut carb’s completely until after my workouts. So should protein shake and eggs be fine? Pretty sure eggs don’t have carbs despite it having fats

Only thing that works is "fat catcher" type that make you shit fat that you eat out. Won't help you with stored fat but works in sense to reduce caloric intake.

Having a deficit and sitting on the couch all day burns the most fat. More fat than exercice can do. In a deficit every outbreath you lose fat.
