This song was specifically made for Eren. It fits his struggle and passion perfectly!
If I had to wager a guess, I would say that the lyrics here are coming directly from Eren himself. The singer is representing him while the underlying and backing chorus are meant to represent the titans. It's very clever song writing and composition.

If you want to try some of their more different songs I recommend Who’s next or smoke in the sky, the latter is more of a reggae punk metal song without a music vid but I recommend listening to it on your own if not as a reaction. Who’s next has a great music vid so it’s a hard recommend for a reaction!

Actually they gave SIM the chance to create the song for the opening of the second and final season of AOT and it was a great choice
This and Tokyo Ghoul's "Unravel" are my favourite anime openings. Btw if you'll watch AOT, try not to watch the openings rn bcuz of the spoilers. Anyways good luck for your channel. 😊
The "spoilers" are so cryptic that I never figure out anything. I consider it references to coming event at most. On the other hand the foreshadowing in the actual show is rampant and if you start piecing things (not me) you get big chunks of the story ahead of time.
You should also react to their other songs , I recommend : devil in your heart , existence , killing me , amy , blah blah blah ...

i found SiM early 2019 and love them sm, i recommend Life is Beautiful for a slower quieter song from them and LET iT END for something heavier like this! :)

I'm not a metal head either! I love almost all genres when it comes to music. It all depends on me liking a certain song and beat. I really do like GRUNGE which is basically alternative rock music. When it comes to metal...it really varies. But when it comes to anime and having a METAL OP....The Rumbling is no exception. I LOVE THIS SONG!
Also, I do love seeing a pattern of Metal having soft moments within a song just slowing down. A great example is Unravel by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure, who did the OP for Tokyo Ghoul.
Grunge is really good too! The most "metal" I usually listen to are bands like Deftones and System of a Down, which aren't exactly metal but so good lol. I will check out those bands thank you!

Dont know who to believe, their own wiki and articles say the song is J-POP or Rock. Yet everyone keeps saying its metal just cuz of the screamo parts :D
This isn't how pop or rock sounds, as an avid fan of rock, this is heavier, not just cause of the false chord screaming, it's also the instrumentals, and it doesn't exactly feel like hardcore or post-hardcore, it's got more of a symphonic aspect to it similar to symphonic metal imo
