Cole, your obvious love and appreciation of mama nature and all her creatures is so heart warming. I’m so sad for you and your family losing your lake. I hope, in the near future, you find a place that will bring you such joy. Love your videos.
@@COLE_and_JAYWhere did your lake go and why? Where are you? I have only seen this twice. Once on purpose they drained it to build a bridge and another time, a couple years ago a dam broke and flooded the city😮
Cole. you sound like me. My love for reptiles amphibians wild animals goes way up above anybody else's. As a matter of fact I challenge anyone to find someone who loves snakes and all them as much as I do. I am surprised you don't have a backpack with a mini fishing pole with you because that looks like a great place to start fishing.
This lake draining has some silver linings after all. I knew this would be exciting for you and Jay. And I’ve thought a lot about it. You and Jay and your knowledge of biology teaching your kids the processes of nature during this lake renovation will be priceless to their life experience!! Also… I wanna go! 😃 I’ll be adventuring out there after this cold front. Ain’t doin n’em sneks. 😂
I remember watching you and Jay herping in your early videos. It’s been a long time. That little frog was the cutest! The snakes I can live without, thank you very much. 😂
Bro, this is one of the many reasons that I Love y’all’s channel!! Just the knowledge and how to that you provide, is so super cool! Thank you for sharing a rad adventure!
Thank you for the lake bed tour. The fishing may have been depleted on your beloved lake, but you followed up with a great swamp video, I am not much on snakes, but that is the first mud snake I have seen, beautiful colors. I hope he survives where you place him. Great video,
Awesome! We are going to be doing a lot more dedicated herping vids moving forward. It’ll probably be slow this winter but next spring we plan to start getting after it!
Cole this video is AWESOME I really hope you make lots more like this one. Draining the lake might be a blessing from God. When one door closes another one will open. Also really like the music .THANK you Frank from montana.......
Loved it. Beautiful snakes. Cottonmouths and me not so much lol. The mud snake however gorgeous. I would love more of this and if you have fox squirrels I would love to see them. In FL they are protected. I used to see them all the time but I haven't seen 1 in about 18 years. Keep up the great work. ❤
I never knew that juvenile cotton mouths had such strikingly beautiful markings like that! So beautiful! And you're right, I would have figured it as a Copperhead, but either way, you don't mess with them! I enjoy seeing all the creatures when people go out herping, quite enjoyable to watch. And yeah, that Mud Snake looks like he's at death's door. When you let go of his upper body quickly to point to where you were going to drop him off at he head fell almost completely without hardly any strength to stop it from falling, so I think it's more than being in shed, he's weak. I hope your boost, dropping him off at the water's edge allows him to find a meal before it's entirely too late, Snakes are our friends, they keep pest species at bay Perhaps not the mud snake so much but I think they eat more than salamanders don't they? even as juveniles? Well, let's hope the salamanders don't become endangered because that will likely result in the endangerment of the Western Mud Snake too.
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer That little snake was not happy. So sorry about the lake. Great video. Love watching you walking around the lake. God bless and love yall ❤❤
Cole, that mud snake was beautiful! Are those kind of snakes always as calm as the one you held? I don't usually like snakes, but I don't think I would mind him. Love the colors on his snake. Fun video. Loved it.
We are going to start incorporating more dedicated herping content on the channel like we used to. It’s getting to be a bad time of year for it but we are going to do our best!
Would be cool if you had a metal detector with the lake being dry. Another person suggested that on another one of your videos. Take care and be safe. Love to you all
@@COLE_and_JAY yeah looks like. Don't get me wrong I know herping videos are something you love making. Great video. I recall my excitement 35 years ago when i caught my first and only Mud Snake. What a shame about the lake. Long wait to see it come back. Regards from a fellow herper in Florida.
Sad for me! Maybe you can take a metal detector out in some of the popular spots, see what you can find. What are they going to do there? Thanks Cole. Never saw a mud snake.
Your video is wonderful and informative. I wonder though, are you an auctioneer? You have got to be the fastest talking person I have ever heard. I find myself having to rewind some of the video to hear what you are saying on certain things. Thanks for sharing.
When i was a kid my dad and I were mushroom hunting by the creek bed. I was going around a tree and about to take a step. My dad grabbed me by my ahirt collar and pulled me back. I looked at him in a puzzled look and he then he just pointed at the base of the tree. I looked down and low, and behold there was the notorious cotton mouth coiled up and ready to tag me. My dad cant believe i can remember that moment cuz i was a young boy. Thats when i started to respect wildlife. Steve Irwin helped me understand and respect wildlife.
