I live in S.E. Missouri. These are actually drainage ditches, not irrigation. I find it amazing that you're catching those quality fish. Keep it up!!!!
I really enjoyed this one.I love creek fishing. God bless you guys
I grew up in eastern Craighead county in the 70s -80s. The Corp of Engineers dug drainage ditches every one mile apart running north to south down to the Craighead-Poinsett county line that ran with clear water about 4 feet to 8 feet deep in places all year long. Other ditches were cut to drain into the Cockleburr south of Black Oak Arkansas (the town of Jim Dandy and the band Black Oak Arkansas were from). These lead to the Saint Francis River that was a fishing paradise when I was in my teen years. I remember just absolutely wearing out the bluegill and bass. Unfortunately, the ditches have all gone dry now and are basically just fish kill zones in the summer full of chemical drainage from all of the pesticides and fertilizer run off. This video takes me back to when I was a kid and had such good times "bridge hopping" with my friends in our pick up trucks.
I was under the impression that black oak Arkansas was up around Oakland, Arkansas
@@stevenhall9349 I grew up in Caraway just down the road from Black Oak. I remember seeing Jim Mangrum (I think his name is actually James Mangrum) walking down the street in Black Oak. He was a regular fixture in the town. He got the nick name Jim "Dandy" and they wrote the song "Jim Dandy to the Rescue". The house where he lived has been torn town that was on the south side of town. I don't know what ever became of James Mangrum. He's gotta be in his middle seventies by now but I remember him and the band all being younger guys in their twenties. I think their drummer Tommy Aldridge went on to play for Ozzy Osborne and Whitesnake. John Grisham the famous author is from Black Oak and I still know some of his family. They are farmers in the area.
he needs to try 26 ditch but fish it more towards harrisburg there is more fish and water cause of that damn that put in
Love your videos. I'm an Arkansas native now living in South Africa. Keep up the good work!
Hi Cole, Jay,Cyprus and Summer. Love going fishing with yall. So entertaining. You always find the crazy place to fish. Good looking fish. God bless and love yall ❤❤
That was fun Cole! Love to Jay Jay and the little ones! Y’all are the best!!
Great video👍not the usual lake for sure, that’s about size of creek I learned to fish on in northern upper peninsula Michigan. We caught brook trout mostly and red horse suckers. An occasional brown or rainbow also.
Love the Ditch fishing videos. I worked for a company out of Jonesboro and every time I went to the factory me and a buddy would fish the ditches and the St Francis River. So much fun. Love you and JJ like family. God bless.
It’s about the only good fishing to do up there! But when you hit the right ditch they’re usually loaded up! Thanks for the support!!!
Very cool place to fish.
What an awesome day of fishing. I envy you guys.
That's the beauty of Ar. You can go fish in a ditch, and at least get bluegills. There's fishing and hunting everywhere. Miss my home state!
Thanks for another great video Cole and Jay!
Cole that was a cool spot I have spots similar I like that top water jig and the sound it was making can you tell me more about it I'd like to get some and best colors. Thanks,Joey
That was interesting. The camera quality is excellent. Fun to watch. 12-7-23
Interesting!!
Never seen a ditch hold so many fish!!
Should be able to restring that crossbow. Have it checked out at an archery shop.
Need to look into it!
What a cool video. I never dreamed there would be fish that big in what you're fishing in. Bravo!!!
I bet the Rapala jointed minnow would do damage in there
I think it’s so weird that you fish in ditches, and those ditches actually have lots of fish in them. I don’t know of any ditches in Wisconsin that retain water and have fish in them.
I always enjoy you. Just got 2 10' acc crappie poles and 2 5' acc crappie poles.
Loved this video!❤
took my advice i see lol but try 26 ditch i grew up on that ditch it runs into the river is loaded with bass catfish bream and crappie only thing is the ditch is so small that when you catch one crappie you gotta wait an hour just to get another bite unless your leaning over the bridge like i use too lol
We love to watch yall.
So happy to hear you are enjoying the videos!
What a nice place to fish
I had no idea that that kind of fish lived in ditches!! ❤
Interesting video!
It was different!!! For sure😮
Awesome
Bring it on
Cole, do your feet ever get cold? I only see you in sandals unless it's winter. Once again, cudos to your cameraman.
Hi Jay and Cole
Awesome video
Thank you!!!!
I live in Mississippi County and I’m not sure where you are lol nice lookin spot.
Lots of those type ditches around country. in SEMO buddy used to put fish trap with stinky cheese in and when we ran them you couldn't pack any more channel cats into it of all sizes. they can be incredibly productive
thats gotta be the bay ditch it looks way too familiar just right on the outside of jonesboro
yeah they bowfish alot around here for fun its just carp and gar tho
Hey Cole not every fish you ketch is a "giant". Really enjoy this type fishing and you should be keeping a lot of those as this type ditch doesn't get fished much. Perfect fileting size on those bass.
Good till the "crick" run dry.👍
I’ll bet that ditch doesn’t see any other fishing pressure.
Ask Daniel Arms or Hannah Barron about that fishing bow.
When is there gonna be just a Jay video and you stay home with the kids? Lol
Cole, i noticed that you don't use a swivel and tie all your bait on the line. Do you have a special reason for not using a swivel?
Doesn't Jay fish with you any more? Are you keeping any this time?
catch and cook --- catch and cook
Not from there. Did ya see all the farm land surrounding it. To many chemicals running off the fields!
I have a gopro 11, what mic do you recommend?
I usually just attach a wind screen over the existing mic! We’ve been also using the rods wireless mics but theyve been giving us some trouble. DJI makes a really nice wireless mic that we are going to switch to
How is Junebug?
She’s good! We will post some
Clips of her soon so y’all can see how she healed up!

Thanks!
When will Jay start fishing again
Hopefully she can get out soon! We’ve had a few of our recent trips together fall through due to illness
We want bigger bigens.
Where's Jay at
She was with the kids this day
Didn’t have any other words to use? 🤔 8:51
What’s wrong with what I said?
@@COLE_and_JAY how did big daddy treat you?
