The GAU-8 Avenger 30mm gatling gun is the enemy ground troop's worst nightmare. The sound alone, the iconic "brrrrt brrrrt" has been called music to the ears of friendly ground troops and psychologically demoralizing to the enemy ground forces. It's also interesting as a plane as the entire aircraft was basically built around the gatling. It was designed to keep the gun flying and operational. Not the prettiest thing, but effective. A truly unique plane and one for the history books.
Except the rounds fired from the gatling gun break the sound barrier. The rounds hit the enemy before they even hear it. I've seen these things in action and they're beast.

You should try the A-10C in DCS! It works pretty well, the US Air force even uses it for training.
I fly it in dcs ❤ most dificult plane in dcs
Another interesting thing about the A-10. The hydraulics systems are also all redundant meaning you really only need half the aircraft to still fly. Technically the A-10 could land with only one engine, one wing, one elevator, and one rudder left. Thanks for all the good videos Trev

@@ci0_397 yup most planes just collapse/be uncontrollable and crash when you get rid of one or two of the rudders and its pretty impressive to be able to fly it with no vertical stabilizers

Sad to say that Microsoft leaving planes that are unflyable on the marketplace is just one of the many many things they do to show that they couldn't care less about the community.

P-47 Thunderbolt to the A-1 Skyraider to the A-10 Thunderbolt II All had big guns lots of armor around the pilot. All 3 were used for Close Air Support operations. The AH-64 Apache was born from the AH-1 Cobra gunship. If you'd left it at 100% throttle you could've gotten airborne!!
One of the first planes I learned in DCS. It still amazes me to this day how complex the cockpit environment is in this aircraft.
Trev, you should try DCS World. The simulator is free to install but most of the planes are full 1-1 realism, especially the A-10. They are pricey, but definitely worth it. Also, the A-10 is the successor to the P-47 Thunderbolt, not the P-51 Mustang. Hence the reason for the A-10 being named, “Thunderbolt II.”
The F-15 and A-10a are good price points for beginners, they run a lot cheaper than most of the other modules
imo wouldn't fit his content. he's just flying around having fun; dcs is a sim. complete different games

Went to my first Chiefs game at arrowhead last year during the AFC championship game. The flyover for the national anthem included 4 of these. It was so cool. Nice video man.
Trev after seeing the interior of the C-130 and now these issues with the A-10, I think is time you move on from MS Flying Simulator to DCS World. watch some videos about that game if you don't know it. It's insane.

Intersting fact: in DCS you have a full fidelity clickable shooting man version of A10C Warthog II you can actually use for the purpouse it was made

There's another A-10 on the marketplace, its called the A-10 Thunderbolt II, its rated alot higher and you can actually fly it, and its fairly realistic too, most of the controls inside the cockpit work and its made by someone who knows how to make aircraft lol

I was just Northeast of Fallujah, in a town called (no shyte) Al Karmah in '06. It was nowhere near that green BUT I LOVE THE HOG's!! Semper
I was in the second battle of fallujah, also know as operation phantom fury. I was in C. Co. 1st LAR call sign warpigs. Was some scary stuff for those few weeks.
Im a hardcore Phantom fanboy got soo many different 1/32 phantom models super detailed and each one takes me around 1month to build/paint and detail. Cant wait for then phantom to land this year

I think if you were the enemy on the ground seeing the A 10 or the C 130 would be the most horrific.

My dad worked flight-line for these aircraft back in the 70s/80s. I worked on the guts years later. Always been fond of them.

If you want to just fly around in dcs and do simple stuff that can be pretty easly achieved. If you want to go deeper and fire of more complicated weapons, it will get reeealy complicated. But id be super down for a "lets learn to fly a jet" series xD
i have the F/A 18C and the a10a and C in DCS very worth it trev and also there is a new A 10 in microsoft flight sim in the marketplace it has the classic sharkmouth livery

You should see if you can find a p-51 mod it's such a cool plane bc it's basically the only propeller plane that could somewhat mess with the me 262

Yo trev you should play DCS:world it’s a 1:1 scale fighter jet simulator and you can PVP and PVE in thousands of servers, there is an array of aircraft from different nations.
There are two types of aircraft: low fidelity and high fidelity where realism is increased the higher fidelity you go however the price goes up

DCS you get the A-10C and it’s about as real as you can get from starting to take off to landing
hey trev, if you’re liking the flying games i think you should check out vtol vr. it’s going to be a lot more sim but still not as hard as things like dcs but i think you might enjoy it and i really think we would
oh damn just finished the vid, so dcs would be super cool but again a big shout for vtol vr instead, maybe even try hitting up operator drewski and see if he will help teach you in either game

Hey trev. Not trying to be rude or anything, but the A-10 is the follow up to the p47 thunderbolt. The “p57 mustang” is actually the p51 mustang. Just a small little mistake
the mustang was the p51 not p57 it was. fighter I think u are after the p47 thunderbolt which was used in the more ground attack areas
I have 2.8k hours of DCS and lemme say the A-10 is an interesting module, the almost 700 page manual too xD
But really fun and worth it once you get the hang of it
I'd love to see him try DCS.

I actually got this to work after trying it for like 6 months off and on.
A-10 Thunderbol2 was a successor to the P-47* Thunderbolt.
A-10 warthog was based off of the p-47 thunderbolt from world war II
I saw one of these firing at a random target
