One working arm, and a need to dig holes and trenches (home use) with 10+ three point implements. I need a back hoe... that took a couple months to wrap my mind around it. I ordered a Kubota K008-3 excavator with 8 and 12" buckets. It fits in the corner of metal shop and not that bad running as you may think one handed, it's actually fun.
I have had 4 different L series tractors including a 5740 and now an L47. Every tractor had a backhoe and all but the L47 were a waste of time and money... except the 47 TLB. If I was to ever do it again I would buy a much less expensive tractor without hoe and a mini excavator. If you are really going to dig... its the way to go in my opinion
Sweet machine! Welcome to the 🍊 orange club! Quality built tractors, the company has been in business for over 100 years. You have most every useful option, dual rear remotes, front 3rd function, work lights, cab. Get the hydro thumb you'll be glad it is money well spent. As much as you spent on that tractor...I can't believe your local dealership didn't top off the fuel. SMH. Great looking tractor. I'm picking up my L4760 later today. I had the L4060 before. Great tractor. You will enjoy it.
Good job on the video. It's a shame that the dealer didn't give you a complete walk through for the tractor. For the price we pay the equipment should come with user videos and app's at the very least. Your video helped me out, thanks.
I have an older L 2550 with a backhoe. I wished I would have had a welder make me a stand to set the backhoe on when disconnected. I suggest extending the bucket all the way open and the boom all the way out. If you don't it will fall over when the outriggers lose their fluid.
Terry Riley - A couple of blocks of wood under the frame of the backhoe, just under the pivot points for the stabilizers, is all it takes to keep the backhoe standing up nicely. Once you have the hoe disconnected from the tractor, pull the tractor ahead a bit but leave the hydraulics connected.. lift the hoe with the stabilizers enough to insert the blocks, and then let the hoe down by lifting the stabilizers just enough to put the weight on the wood. You can also adjust the position by raising or lowering the boom a bit if needed. As long as the ground under the wood blocks is stable, the hoe will stay firmly in place. Mine hasn’t moved since I took it off in the fall.
Just a note on the Faster Hydraulic Manifold. they do offer the 8 line hookup in case anyone was wondering. This is what I did on mine and I'm currently just using 6 of the hoses. All lines are on one manifold including the 3rd function. So there's room for expansion later on if I decide to put the auto latch feature later on. Nice rig! Could you verify, does the the hydraulic spill guard level the bucket when raising AND LOWERING the bucket? And can you turn the function on and off? I've seen conflicting posts on it.
Just to correct my previous comment. I have the spill guard installed now and it does not work like a self leveling valve like I had hoped. It only works with the bucket at nearly full curl back and kicks the bucket forward as the booms reach full height. Does nothing on the way down. Not worth the effort or $$$ it cost. I'm probably going to switch to a Eaton Dual leveling valve for pallet fork work since there is not option for mechanical leveling on the LA1055 loaders..... It you only care if the bucket moves forward at full height to keep some product from falling back, then this Spill Guard "could" be worth it. Otherwise I hope this save some heart ache for others out there. I'll probably post a video on what the spill guard actually does before I remove it. It really ticks me off that Kubota does not offer a mechanical or hydraulic self leveling options for the 60 series loaders. ESPECIALLY since they offer it for the smaller and larger units in their lineup! I hope you're listening Kubota! ;) Please give us options for Resume on cruise control, LED lights from factory, A dome light that actually works with the door opening, Integrate the cheesy Add-On third function activation button into the joystick,.... and give us delay wipers for real icing on the cake! Some of these options are standard on your competition. I supposedly "upgraded" from a New Holland 3050 CVT Super Steer, but I really miss some of things that were standard on it. I searched all over youtube as well researching and could not find many videos on the Grand L Series. Your video will definitely help future buyers on buying/building a Kubota, good work....
Do the window defrosters not come standard?? I put a deposit down on a L4060…I will be snowblowing so I need those for sure! As well, what’s the overall weight of your tractor with how and loader? Do you know by chance?
What’s the L4060 Limited Edition weight limit. I’m having to realign a few rocks which my sister in law ran into and I’m wondering though doubting if it would tip over lifting a 500lb stone.
Unfortunately I’m not sure what the lift capacity is, but I feel like I’ve lifted heavier weight than 500lbs. Just test the waters carefully maybe or call your local dealer. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Great looking tractor, I am about to upgrade from the AL 3901 to the L4060 I want a Backhoe , If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Backhoe
Very nice tractor Jeff. By now you know just how nice it really is. I hope your happy with it. I stumbled upon your video by complete accident and decided to watch it so imagine my surprise to hear my name mentioned. Thank you for that and your kind comments for your subscription. I just subscribed to your channel as well. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Be safe out there. Cheers. Paul
Hi Paul! Thanks for the note! Your the one that inspired me to start making videos. I always enjoy watching yours! I am thoroughly enjoying my Kubota. It has been good to me so far and very useful. Thanks for subscribing. Merry Christmas to you and Kathy!!
What I'd like to know now that you have had it for a while, how well does it "WORK" compared to a L6060? Specifically the pulling power, pushing power etc. I am not concerned with the Back hoe as I have a mini Excavator for all that.
Gary, unfortunantly I can't answer your question very well. First of all, I've never run a L6060. Also, we have had absolutely no snow this winter, so I haven't had a chance to push anything yet. I have honestly only used it a couple times to move some cut and split firewood around my property. I intend to do more videos and give updates once I get a chance to put it to work. I haven't found anything that I wasn't happy with yet.
Really nice tractor. Lots of things to learn. I like yourself was a little overwhelmed by all the levers, and switches. Speaking of switches. Don't you just hate seeing a blank switch hole? I would be like HEY! is there an option I could have had and wasn't told about. I guess the switch thing maybe a guy thing cause my wife could care less. LOL
Lol!! Yes, that’s funny. I thought the same thing when I saw all of the blank switch covers. After 2 years, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything though.
Farmingsmallkubota yes I was discouraged about loosing the 30 degree angle. However, the air ride seat is a must I think with as much mowing as I do and what not. I don’t know anything about the pto function you mentioned.
I know this is an old video. First good video thanks. Disable Vietnam Vet, buying Kubota 2017 L4701 rental from dealer with 119 hrs. Myself and Nate (Bingham dealer) have been looking for quick hydraulic couplers and here they are on your new L4060. I'm upgrading from TC33DA to L4701. Now I'm adding the cool stuff. Third Function, Tip/Tilt with QH15 (Quick hitch), 3rd remote for Land Pride HR2572 (box scraper). Added 72" Scrap grapple, Canopy with LED front lights and rear LED work lights. Do you have dealer name so I can find quick hydraulic couplers? Kubota 2017 L4701 was $24,500 with about $10k of options.
What did you have before the grand L? Or is it an M? I noted your led dash starts off with a capital M. I agree with the commenter about filling up your tank with fuel but sadly you are well over $100,000.00. Did they offer Lo-Jack? As detail oriented as you are you must be a physician.
Did you ever figure out the door light? My l6060hstc arrived this week and it was one of my pet peeves since it is dark every time I go outside now. They forgot to put my defrost switch in despite the defrosters being on the window. Also noticed your dashboard was in metric as mine was, and I got ticked and just changed it to imperial after reading posts on online forums. I was also wondering if your cab over on the right where the remotes are if there is a gap. Yours looked like it had a slight gap. Mine seems to have a larger gap and I’m surprised given the cabs are supposed to be more refined than the rops models. Overall seems to be a good purchase especially considering how cold it is out right now.
Thanks for watching my video. Unfortunately there is no solution through kubota for the door light. It is an over sight on their part. The previous models did work, but it’s almost like they forgot about it on this model. Kind of irritating I suppose.
I think eventually I will try to find a door sensor and wire it into the middle position on the light switch and replace the lamp with an LED light. I do a lot of work in the evenings and fumbling around in the dark is annoying let alone not safe. On my ROPS tractor I had before the rear work light would reflect some light off the canopy down into the operators console, but the cab stays pretty dark at night.
Hi Jeff, that was such a great video. I am shopping for a Kubota for my husband and he definitely wants a backhoe on it. From your video I can see that you bought one. I couldn't find any of your videos with using the backhoe. Please let me know if you have one I couldn't find. Also, do you have anywhere posted a kind of spec sheet or list of what you actually ordered originally on this tractor. Thanks
Mare Est hello! Thanks for watching my video. Unfortunately, the only other video I have that talks about the backhoe is how to remove and install the backhoe. I think I have published that. Sorry, life has been busy and I haven’t had time to do much lately.
Nice machine. I read through the comments and hopefully at this point you have had a chance to use it. I was wondering if you were satisfied with the power of the L4060. I'm in the market looking and am comparing the John Deere 4044R and the 4066R compared to the Kubota L4060 and L6060. Some reviews that I read stated to go with the higher hp model, but I was wondering what your take was on this. I can see you take pride in caring for your equipment and property just as I do and thought your insight would be helpful in making a decision. John Deere has a few perks such as a standard air ride seat in the 4066R and the 3 point assist on the rear fender, however, the reviews were not that great as 62% say they would recommend the 4066R. I have had 3 Kubotas and for the most part been very happy with them with the exception of my current model... B3350. I have had many problems with the emissions regenerating properly. I would appreciate any of your thoughts on the hp rating of the L4060 and how it has operated for you thus far. I am wondering if the extra 20 horse is worth the extra 10K. Thanks for your time and enjoy the tractor!
Hi Jason, I've been asked this question by others and I struggle to answer this question. This is the only tractor I have ever owned. I will say that it has done everything that I have asked it to do so far with no problems. I am really only using it to mow with though right now. I have used the back hoe several times and it seems to have enough power for what I am trying to do. I have dug some pretty deep holes with it with out any struggle. I also have moved some dirt and firewood with the front end loader and it has had the power I needed. I guess it all comes down to what you plan to use it for. I wish I could answer your question better and maybe if I had owned a 60 hp tractor previously I wold have more insight for you. I hope this helps a little. Good luck with your decision and enjoy!!
Jeff, one more question. Would you order the air ride seat again? Getting ready to order mine and can't decide on seats. I like the fact the standard one swivels a bit. Just wondering if the air ride is worth the cost. Thanks
Jason, I did like the idea of the swivel seat. However, I think the air ride seat is a must have for me. I only weigh 160#'s, but while mowing 4 acres every week, I'm glad to have the air ride. Even with the air ride seat I sometimes get annoyed by the rough terrain. I can only imagine what it would be with out it. That's my take on it anyway. Good luck!! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Pretty good video there. Not exactly Paul Short yet :-), but I have been wondering if you could put a backhoe on a cab tractor for a LONG time, with no resolution to it until this video. Didn't know you could GET the bolt-on cutting edge and neat hydraulic coulings before. Keep up the good work!
Nice machine! The only thing I don't get with a backhoe set up like this how do you actually dig with it? Do you have to get off and get in the cab every time you want to move?
Yes, unfortunately, that's the case. I believe the backhoe has a 9' reach, but if your trying to dig a long trench, you would have to get off and move occasionally. It's meant for digging a hole. Thanks for watching!
It is pretty easy. I took it off one time in the barn just to see what it was all about. It probably took 5 minutes give or take. I am going to do a video of it soon and post it.
thank you, I am about to pull the trigger on about the same package. Did you get preheater for the hydraulic fluid? Looking forward to your next video++
I didn't get the pre heater unless it came standard. No one ever told me that it was an option and in my extensive research I didn't see it for this tractor as an option. I hope I didn't miss something!!
Talked to Kubota dealer today he said they did not offer a heater. I found one on Amazon for $30 that you just attach to the outside of the tank. Reviewers said it worked well for this purpose.
Thanks for the video. I was curious what the height of the back hoe is? When it is in the storage position on the tractor? Curious because of going into barns. Also curious if you are happy about getting the back hoe? Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Did I answer your question in the video about the backhoe height? I am happy to have the back hoe. I have used it for several projects in the last year. However, I will say that it is a pain to store when you don’t need it on the tractor. It takes up a lot of room. I like to keep all of my implements inside out of the weather, so that would be my only thought on that.
Jeff B Thank you for the info. One other question. Are you happy with the tractor? Any issues with it? I am looking into the same set up with the L6060. Anything you would have done differently? Thank you!
John I haven’t really had any issues. I do have a small hydraulic leak on the back hoe attachment, which should be covered under warranty. I just haven’t had time to get it handled. The only thing I may have done differently would have been to add the thumb to the backhoe attachment. Very good tractor so far!!
What part of Ohio do you live in Jeff? I'm a few miles north of Newark, Ohio and we have a Kubota dealer nearby. The staff there seems to know their products inside and out and have 0% financing for four years. If that how you financed your tractor?
Hi Dan, Thanks for watching my video. I am located in Amanda, Ohio just a little south west of Lancaster. I purchased my tractor through Evolution Ag in Circleville. They were pretty helpful as well. The financing options through Kubota are great!
I'm currently looking for property in your area. My daughter and her husband live in Ashville and I want to move closer to them. Thanks for sharing these great videos!
Jeff, a really good video highlighting features offered by Kubota. I love the options you had chosen and was wondering if your tractor has any PTO or 3-pt hitch buttons on the outside-rear of tractor? You got a nice tractor. Congrats. Enjoyed a full watch of your video and I just joined your channel.
Houndsman One thanks for checking it out! Unfortunately Kubota didn’t offer the outside controls when I bought my tractor or at least no one offered it to me. I believe I had asked about that, because I was also looking at a John Deer at the same time, and they did have something like that as an option. Other than that, I have no complaints about the Kubota!
Well, you surely got a fine piece of machinery, Jeff. Hope you get a chance to play around while in the tractor seat. I too am very particular about my gear and want it looking good, running good, but more importantly, functional. Have a fine week.
Terrific review, Jeff! I'm hoping to purchase a L3901 soon. Question: what's your opinion so far with the DPF regeneration? From what I can gather, some owners are O.K. with it, but others feel it's a real pain. Just curious. Thanks! -- Charlie
C. Fishel I did not regenerate for the first time until about 52-55 hours. I was pretty stressed about it because I wasn't sure how to do it. I ended up reading the owners manual and it's easy. Basically if you are using the tractor when it's time to regenerate, it just does it automatically. I think it only took 5-10 minutes to regenerate. It regenerated while I was mowing one day. There is a particulate matter gage on the dash that tells you where you are. 0% -100%. If you aren't using it, there are buttons you can push to start the regeneration. As I mentioned, it didn't even happen until after 50 hours so it isn't a regular thing that you have to mess with. After going through the process once , I don't think it's a big deal at all. I hope this helps!!
Jeff Berger there is a door switch for the older L40 series. Wonder if it could be adapted to L60? Let me know if you could use a photo of how it mounts on L40.
nice unit, but i sure wouldn't be going by Paul by no means, he is paid to really build that brand in so many ways, i have got him in so much bs over the years, he talks like he is not but i know better
the guys that delivered it are just jockeys most likely, talk to the salesman... if they are true salesman then they should know there competitors and there product inside and out...

I searched all over youtube as well researching and could not find many videos on the Grand L Series. Your video will definitely help future buyers on buying/building a Kubota, good work....
Thanks Robert!! Enjoy your new tractor!!
Do the window defrosters not come standard?? I put a deposit down on a L4060…I will be snowblowing so I need those for sure! As well, what’s the overall weight of your tractor with how and loader? Do you know by chance?
I believe I ordered the defrosters as an option. Unfortunately I don’t remember the weight at this point. I’m sure the dealership can tell you.
@@jeffb7637 yep I’ll check. Loving the 4060??
@@andreww4885 yes I have been very happy with it. No major problems at all.
I'm actually thinking about a 2nd tractor because taking my backhoe off and putting the 3pt on is a pain in the rear. No pun intended. Lol
Mark Harrison yeah, I agree. It’s easy enough to do, but it takes time.
Great looking tractor, I am about to upgrade from the AL 3901 to the L4060
I want a Backhoe , If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Backhoe
I don’t remember 100% but I think it was around 9k
Thank you for the good review. Let's see it working. Thank you.
How much out the door?
After 2 years, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything though.
with the air ride seat you lose the 30 degree rotation and the ability to you the PTO while stationary for things like a chipper or wood splitter
Farmingsmallkubota yes I was discouraged about loosing the 30 degree angle. However, the air ride seat is a must I think with as much mowing as I do and what not. I don’t know anything about the pto function you mentioned.
I have a 2015 L4060 with the air ride seat. I use a 20 lb. weight to put on the seat so that I can use my PTO-driven chipper.
Would love to see the backhoe on and off, also how much was this package here?
I’m hoping to do that video soon! Total cost with tax and everything was in the neighborhood of 60k I believe.
Awesome!! Sounds like fun. I bought this tractor through Evolution Ag in Ohio. I would assume any dealership can order them for you. Good luck!
Were you saying that the qh15 has a third function option? Or just the implement?
What did you have before the grand L? Or is it an M? I noted your led dash starts off with a capital M. I agree with the commenter about filling up your tank with fuel but sadly you are well over $100,000.00. Did they offer Lo-Jack? As detail oriented as you are you must be a physician.
Chip Friday this is a grand L 4060. I suppose I should have asked them for a full tank but I didn't even think about it!! They didn't mention lo-jack
The M is because he is in medium range on the transmission.
10-4 about the bolt on edge
Thanks the video is very helpful.. I won’t to buy this product it’s not available in my country...
Matt Let me know if you figure out that door switch!!
fellow ohioin here
Hi Jeff, that was such a great video.
@@jeffb7637 Thanks Jeff, I will look for that one and thanks for getting back to me!
How much did all the up charges add...yikes total cost???
Hi Dan,
I honestly can't tell you anymore as its been a few years, but they definitely add up in a hurry!
Nice review

Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Hi Jason,
I've been asked this question by others and I struggle to answer this question.
Thank you very much Jeff, you have answered my question. Have a great one!
Jeff, one more question. Would you order the air ride seat again? Getting ready to order mine and can't decide on seats. I like the fact the standard one swivels a bit. Just wondering if the air ride is worth the cost. Thanks
Jason,
I did like the idea of the swivel seat.
Thanks Greg! That was the whole reason for the video. I'm glad I answered some questions for you.
I totally agree. I need that answer as well and now I got it. Old video but it’s answering tons of questions. Thank you.
@@kastlrock557 your welcome!!
I wanna see that backhoe disconnect soon.
catbirdfeeder it's coming soon!
Jeff B it is a beauty love those 60 series cabs!
very helpful. Have you taken off the frame mounted backhoe yet? JUST WONDERING HOW EASY/HARD it is. Thank you for putting this up!
Thanks for the update! I wonder how necessary that is? What temperatures are considered cold I wonder?
Thanks for the video. I was curious what the height of the back hoe is? When it is in the storage position on the tractor? Curious because of going into barns. Also curious if you are happy about getting the back hoe? Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Did I answer your question in the video about the backhoe height? I am happy to have the back hoe. I have used it for several projects in the last year. However, I will say that it is a pain to store when you don’t need it on the tractor. It takes up a lot of room. I like to keep all of my implements inside out of the weather, so that would be my only thought on that.
I just measured the back hoe at 98” from the concrete floor in my barn to the highest point.
Hi Dan,
Thanks for watching my video.
Make more videos of you and the bota
Hey, thanks for the interest!! I plan to make some more videos.
Jeff Berger awesome man! I'm a serious lover of kubota. Check out my channel sometime
Will do man. Thanks!!
How much??????better of looking for a used one?
Why kobota?.. Just curious we went with the deer..
Kubotas hold up better... Deere break very easy and the cost of repairs is crazy high... Kubotas are bullet proof..
Implement Tires? You mean industrial tires
My 2017 kubota zd 1211 has an airside seat
Thank you! Have a great day!
It sure did! Thanks much!
C. Fishel your welcome!!
Replace all the lights with led or hid
Why?
Let it idle to long you will go into a regen soon
Nice tractor :)))))
did you solve the dome light issue?
Unfortunantly, I didn't.
Jeff Berger there is a door switch for the older L40 series. Wonder if it could be adapted to L60? Let me know if you could use a photo of how it mounts on L40.
y404mog that would be great if you have something to show me.
Jeff Berger , i will take a couple photos.
