This also is the one example in the Book of Mormon that I always feel the spirit the strongest .. I just feel like the explanation of faith to a seed is so profound and to me it’s like Heavenly Father talking directly to us through his prophets .. it’s just a miracle
I am not LDS, but I was thinking of joining the church back in 1996. I participated in the first 4 missionary discussions/lessons, attended Sunday services, and even had set a baptism date. I ended up backing out because this was causing division with my spouse. She was not interested in the church, and I agreed with the missionaries when they taught that the Devil is the "father of contention". But, despite not joining the church, Alma 32 has always carried such deep meaning for me. It doesn't matter what one's religious beliefs are, the underlying message here is universal. I will ALWAYS desire to believe, so that seed remains.
I love the actor of Alma. He makes the Early Modern English of the Book of Mormon sound so conversational and natural, like a real teacher. It helps me see the words in a new light.
I do too. He's such a good example of how we should and can communicate with our children and to others without offending or condemning them. I love how he counsels his sons. I love the Book of Mormon but this has brought it more to life. So realistic!
When I was in High School and finally ready to read the Book of Mormon for myself I decided to open it to the middle and read a chapter at random and this was the chapter I read and it was my favorite and helped me want to read the Book of Mormon all the way through.
I’m definitely a visual learner so I am absolutely loving these Book of Mormon videos! I watch them before I read the chapters and it is just coming to life for me. This year reading the Book of Mormon has been such a different and incredible experience for me. ❤️
These remind me of old Seminary videos when I was a young girl.. I remember watching them over and over because my mom was seminary teacher.. back in the 80s and my Testimony grew and swelled in my heart soo much! These videos make me feel the spirit the same way!! I am so grateful for this church and just know without a doubt it’s true and that the Savior lives!! ♥️
These are a literal godsend for people like me who struggle to read BOM without the visuals ha.. for some reason seeing him say the words just makes it so much more alive. thank you for all the work that went into this!
For me this reminds me of you must have faith to believe an follow the commandments to the best of your ability, you will succeed when you have faith in all, but taking step by step if need is still a great blessing we are all trying to be a step closer to be like our heavenly father speak from your heart let the words be spoken from the holy spirit because each testimony we share as a great impact on our lives when you have faith to believe amen
There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.
Does anybody remember that song “Seed of Faith” from The Animated Stories of The Book of Mormon Alma and the Zoramites when Alma was teaching the poor just like the live action version is do right now?
Without faith to back it up our worlds holy books become questionable stories. Faith is what makes it into the word; but it's not The Word; The Word is the very spoken into existence creation we live in; our religions are a product of living in The Word Creation itself is the True Word; that can't be faked. Religion itself is our creation; and just like anything else we touched, it's got us all over it. True faith is understanding that and understanding how to overcome interactions with people who are just as faithful to their religions.
Faith is not a perfect knowledge. Faith is future based and knowledge is based in the past. Faith is where desire and reason meet. Without reasons we are wishing.
For me faith strong faith is difficult to acquire and harder to keep during these times with the virus the riots in the protest the world in turmoil just my opinion RTD from SLC
@0100 Animal6.2 I understand how you feel, but it is the time to show our faith into action, only our Faith could help us overcome our fear in this turmoil and uncertain times
But there is a flaw to the argument. One is assuming that the seed is good from the beginning, but if it doesn't grow it's because of your own failing (not believing enough or not faithful enough), not that the seed was bad from the beginning. That possibility is shoved to the side quickly and unobtrusively. But the seed could always have been a dud and the one way to find that out is the same way that you test any seed, by planting it. Water and fertilize all you want, if it's bad it ain't gonna grow., BUT THAT'S NOT YOUR FAULT. Also, Faith has everything to do with hope, but nothing with truth. Truth cancels out faith, per say..
You have an excellent point. If we nourish bad seeds or duds as you say, we don't see any growth. I think the key phrase in this video is that faith is hope for things not seen "which are true." If we hope for false things, it merits us nothing, but Alma defines faith as hope in truth. When we nourish truth, we can see the growth spoken of in this amazing message.
Alma didn't say if it doesn't grow it's because of your own failing, this is what he said: "38 But if ye neglect the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, because it hath no root it withers away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out. 39 Now, this is not because the seed was not good, neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable; but it is because your ground is barren, and ye will not nourish the tree, therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof." Alma is warning of the consequences of neglecting the word. He speaks of experimenting on the word, but what good is an experiment that is only done half-heartedly and without care? If you just stop "nourishing the word" you shouldn't be surprised if you don't get any "fruit." It is somewhat reminiscent of the Saviour's parable of the sower: "20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended."
i really love the fact that faith is explained as a mustard seed and it makes it more simpler to understand.
Tears. The Spirit of the Lord was so strong.

My favorite chapter too 💟
I love the video of this part of the Book of Mormon as well. It teaches of faith really well.
I love the words Swell, Enlarge, Enlighten, and Delicious. Each first letter of the four words spell SEED
Never noticed that before. That's really cool.
WOW! Thank you for sharing that.

How powerful magnicent & true are the words of Ama and other Book of Mormon prophets. How blessed we are when we give unto them in faith.
It really made a difference to me after I have let the seed grow, and how I percieve what new choices I need to make in these days
I am coming to god’s wishes and am working on my anger and my ego

Love this
I love it,
I love his explanation
Does anybody remember that song “Seed of Faith” from The Animated Stories of The Book of Mormon Alma and the Zoramites when Alma was teaching the poor just like the live action version is do right now?
We should all repent
and have faith
Why?
It must needs be that this is a good seed.
He’s my favorite actor in that one movie... that I haven’t seen in a long while, because my temple rarely plays the version with him in it :(
Faith is not the seed! The word of God is the seed. Faith is the act of planting the seed in our hearts. Listen to what he is saying.
Faith is the seed, without faith it's just a book, you gotta have some belief about it for it feel alive.
Why is the thumbnail title
saying the Primary song words
rather than what Alma said?
Do you mean "compare faith to a seed"? Which Alma is *not* doing at all.
