Replaced my oem 2006 Tacoma steering wheel with a 2016 Corolla one and it looks awesome!! Thank you for the guide!!
Any more info?
Did the buttons work?
@@faascencio I think it will work if you get the harness from a 2014. I haven’t gotten it because I did not used them at all before swapping the steering wheel. If you got the money, I would suggest you to replace it it looks so much better.
Imagine this guy being your neighbor lmao
poormofo1 id be stoked
I'm a constant source of entertainment for the neighborhood.
I was thinking the same thing-looks like he lives in either a townhouse community or just homes super close. Hopefully they're friends...
Great video! How did you re-attach those two metal brackets you took off and repainted in the rear?
Kind of hard to explain but I think I ended up just either flipping them or turning 180 degrees and they lined up nicely and then attached with some stainless steel hardware. Been awhile so I'm not 100%
The reason I don't like a Dremel Tool for a job like this is because it leaves behind a trail of gobs of melted plastic. I probably would have done this on a bandsaw.
Looks way better lol great video!!
I used trimlok on my fenders after I cut them, looks pretty good
Whoa!!! Did we just see your VHS collection 😭😭😭
Vintage porn maybe
Tacomaholic great video no turning back now...I started to cringe when I heard the saw cutting the fenders😱
I really want to do this on my 4th gen 4runner. I'm a bit intimated. Thanks for showing the process
I may be seeing things, and I could also be wrong.... but that looks like some Dragonlance (Dragons of xxxxxxxx Series) and Forgotten Realms (Drizzt Do'Urden series)? From maybe the early 2000s release? Awesome video, VERY helpful as is your Dobinson snorkel install video, bookmarked for next month or April when I do my own. Would it be more efficient to do the CMC at the same time as trimming the fenders?
Ha ha oh yeah I've read tons of the Forgotten Realms books. Doing the CMC at the same time probably wouldn't really make much of a difference as far as efficiency goes ... but it could be useful since you are already in the cutting/chopping mood.
How many miles have you gotten out of those tires?
About 30 so far. They are holding up great. 🤣
@@Tacomaholic Right now I'm running STT pro Cooper Tires and they are amazing!
@@Meeks3 One of my wheeling friends had those and enjoyed them.
@@Meeks3 I run those too in 33's on my '03 tacoma. They are seriously the best tire I have used
Brian another great tutorial video. Nice job on details and the specifics other may run into completing this mod.
Great job, very impressive. If I did that it would look like an idiot with a saw got loose.
Enjoyed your video. Well done and thanks for all the tips which I always appreciate.
What gearing did you have on this truck! 4.56 or 4.88 considering it is a gen 2 Taco?
I went with 4.88
Another great video Sir
The bigger tyres are looking good. How do you think they will handle snow? I'm running nitto Ridge grapplers and they are great off road and on road... But not very snow friendly.
Yeah snow seems to be the main weak point for most MT. Guess I'll see this winter. 😀
Nice job!!
Been waiting on this one 💪💪💪
I was surprisingly calm watching this lol looks fantastic!
Nice job!
"make some more noise please" hey maybe that person was making a how to video around the corner while you were making all kinds of noise saying the same thing.. JK brother sick video
Where did you get those stickers bro looks very badass
Which ones?
Wait a minute do you keep tarantulas?
Lol good eye! I've got over 20 of them ...
Tacoma mods and Spider collection...🤔
@@Tacomaholic Nice Ive keep snakes for over 13 years. Tarantulas though I could not do. I love seeing them though out here in AZ.
@@LMerchant01 I actually had a subscriber send me a tarantula from Oklahoma.
@@Tacomaholic That cool man. They have always fascinated me just cant get over the fear. Last year on my way back from hunting in early October I must have seen 30 maybe more lost count of them. Every couple miles there would be one or 2 crossing the the road.
Wow....much braver than me....question for all Holics....I have a Gen 2 with only one key, ignition and door. Does the same key supposed to work for the tailgate or is that a separate key? Thanks all
The 2nd Gens did not have a locking tailgate option, but if you add something like the PopNLock then you can code it to your ignition key.
@@Tacomaholic My 2014 definitely has a key lock on tailgate with backup camera. I did buy it used so I am not sure if previous oner had a key or the ignition key worked....which doesn't really fit. Or maybe I am looking at a PopNLock....
@@robertmacdonald2735 I think the PopNLock is the only locking tailgate handle solution for the 2nd Gens.
Maybe I missed a video, but is that a wrap or the magnetic brush guards?
It's the 2nd Gen Tacoma "GOAT Armor" I covered in this vid: ruclips.net/video/rugYaOhYgwA/видео.html
cant believe they wrapped your truck like that. wrap shops know better to just do the whole thing...the good ones at least
Yeah that was pretty lazy.
Tacomaholic i would of send that truck right back soon as i found out and made them do it right. Doesnt matter if you planned in keeping the flares forever or not
Brian can you please tell me what you did with the inside fender liner on the front? I'm getting ready to trim my fenders, did you just cut some out? Any video how you did your fender liners? Thanks man
I just removed the entire factory fender liner.
@@Tacomaholic thanks that is what I figured!
@@downsouthsquonks4020 Just easier that way. You can trim (or heat with a heat gun to mold it out of the way) but it's a pain.
@@Tacomaholic I don't have a snorkel and not sure what to do with the breather hole up inside the passenger side front tire.
@@downsouthsquonks4020 You could reroute the intake to the windshield cowl. That's a popular mod for guys who don't want to add a snorkel.
Did you have to modify any part of the firewall like hammer the pinch welds? I have similar UCAs as you and every other video of those running 35s, are using JBA or SPC..I assume they aren’t rubbing on their either?
Yeah I hammered the pinch weld flat for 33s and lightly hammered parts of the upper fenderwell for the 35s. I have a 1" body lift which helped alot with the rubbing.
If you would've done 3 inches, would that have cut off the bottom mounting hole for the fender? I don't have a body lift or planning on getting one and I am thinking of doing 3 inches and tackling it this weekend (10/24/20). Also, I think that's why it looks like in your video you didn't do the complete 2 inches towards the bottom of the front fenders, right?
3" seems to be the norm when other guys cut there fenders but I'm not sure if it would get rid of that mounting hole.
👍 Great work 👍
Awesome!
Great video!! Sounds like you been playing with a balloon by letting out the air. Lmao!!
🤣
Brian can you please tell me when jacking up the front how do you keep the Billett UCAS from hitting your remote reservoir hoses? Is there a way I can jack up the front of my Tacoma without making the front suspension go to full droop? Thanks man
Greetings! The suspension is always going to droop when the front tires are jacked off the ground. You might be able to adjust how you have your reservoir mounted though (probably by moving it closer to the UCA) so the hose won't make contact.
@@Tacomaholic thanks man, I appreciate your time! I'm digging all your Taco videos! Keep them coming!
@@downsouthsquonks4020 Thanks buddy!
I bet you drove you neighbors in your complex crazy!
Of course. That's the whole point. 😃
is there a way to cut inside the cab to the bed? I've never seen this done before and it would be awesome to have access to the cab from the bed of the truck.
I'm sure it could be done but would be a pain to make it watertight.
@@Tacomaholic I hear it cause structural issues. Some say that's not true, however. I wonder if a body shop would have something other than a according plastic to seal it from water.
11:48 The feet of a surgeon.
What do you recommend for replacement fender flares?? My stock ones are coming loose from the body..thanks !!
Are you just looking for something like OEM?
@@Tacomaholic yes something that is easy to install to replace the stock ones.
@@neilmosteller2472 If you don't go with OEM replacements probably something like this kit from Bushwhacker amzn.to/2EKKtCH
No paint on the edge of the metal? Won't it rust?
I used touchup paint on the exposed edge.
On my 2nd gen there’s a brace in the center of the rear wheel well did you remove this?
I can't remember what was there from the factory but most, if not all, of the factory bracing didn't work after trimming that much out of the fenders.
