In a GPON OLT, you can provide 120 connections per port. For an 8-port OLT, you can deliver a total of 960 connections (120 × 8 = 960).

What is EXPON ? For a new customer, I do not think if would make much of a difference if one opts for new connections from WishNet Broadband. If I procure the EPON gadget by myself for my domestic connection I presume 300 GB would suffice for 4- 5 mobiles, 2 Desktop and 1 Smart TV. Please advise.

Does this OLT/ONU units are portable to different ISPs? Currently these units are used by BSNL fiber, but suppose if I switched to Jio Fiber after that will it be compatible with it also?

no that won t be possible sir, in that case you can use dual mode ONT, which can work on GPON and EPON Both.

I have got a gpon device HUAWEI ONT, what could be issue if I connect to a epon OLT on the other end as gpon and epon both uses same wavelength / range also both can understand ethernet. If they cannot communicate each other, is there any other converter we may need to make this work?

I have Product Model: Syrotech SY-GPON-1000-2WDONT with product name: G/EPON ONU
Now I am unsure whether it is a GPON device or EPON
Whether upgrading to a XPON device will even work with it or not?
The Syrotech SY-GPON-1000-2WDONT is a GPON device, and upgrading to an XPON device should be compatible with it.
