@@kylanyoung703 that’s not why he got cancelled lmao and idk where u heard that. He got cancelled because he was defending this white girl online that said the n word and did sum other stuff (can’t remember) but the 2nd half of the comment yea. Not that I support the cancellation it’s just that’s what happened
This is quite honestly one of the realest, most authentic interviews I've watched. Tom is incredible at carrying conversation and asking unique, in-depth questions while also never crossing overly personal boundaries, which is the perfect mix of raw emotion and pure respect. Daniel puts meticulous thought into each of his answers, always having a very human exterior. Humility just radiates from him at all angles. I love how he explains that he feels disappointed when fans get hyped up to see him because he feels he is no different from any other person. He breaks down the superficial trap of starstruck ideology so perfectly. Both guys are deep thinkers and know how to present their ideas through careful consideration. Loved it so much.
Omg! When they are talking about his song about being shy he is asked “how’d that go?” and he immediately responds by singing the song, but I think the question was actually meant like “how did the song work out for you with the girl?” … love ya Daniel thank you for existing
I truly relate to using anger and resentment due to trauma to fuel my dreams. It truly is hard to enjoy the success once you get it when it was catapulted by trying to prove others wrong and trying to get them to notice how amazing you are. I think you truly can't enjoy the fruits of your labor until you forgive and forget those people and realize that you never needed their validation to begin with. The only validation you needed was from yourself, but it is always much easier said than done.
"I was waiting on a feeling that was fleeting" and "I miss my innocence". There's a song there. His depth and honesty are refreshing. Tom, you're a generous interviewer. Thanks!
I'm ashamed that I've loved Daniels music this long and this is somehow the first time I've ever really listened to him just talk about things. This dude is an absolute legend in his music and in his world. You can look in his eyes and see so much swimming around.
I keep finding myself coming back to this interview, just the way he articulates, and thinks before he responds to a question is so interesting to me. I can tell he conceives his responses strategically, most likely out of fear of our sensitive and problematic world 🥺I admire u daniel
I would say, it’s not that we need to get rid of the desiring, it’s that we understand the desiring, embrace it for what it is-it’s the fuel that carries us through our life journey. The more we desire, the more we’ll get to enjoy in life because it will take us to so many places. The trick is, like Daniel just said, is to do what the cliche says, and enjoy the journey. It’s an understanding the unfolding of life is where the fun is, and the best way we can see and recognize the unfolding, is to have something we’re reaching for, something we’re desiring. ❤
this is truly a beautiful interview, brought me so much peace! Those questions came so naturally, so simple honest things we all deal with, thank you for sharing your thoughts
It’s what he wanted, it’s just not enough and he feels that what he wants will never be enough hence why he doesn’t feel satisfaction and its satisfaction is what he is yearning for.
Amazing interview. Danny’s so right about exercise making life brighter and making you a more playful human. I haven’t been able to exercise for three months due to an injury and I feel like less of myself for it.
Disagree with the take that being compassionate is better. In my life I have been nothing but compassionate and understanding to everyone, and that’s legit gotten me no where. I’ve learned within past couple years that running on hatred and anger is easily the best route and that pain speaks louder than being kind. Idk who I am without hatred, especially hatred for myself.
The interviewer is perpetually attempting to insert "his understanding" into Daniel Caesar's consciousness. He is repeatedly saying "I see this" and then looking for Daniel Caesar to confirm his own analysis, instead of allowing the artist to be an adult, and explain himself. There is a paternal air to his style. It's fairly nasty if you notice it.
you can tell theres a lot going through his mind at all times
There’s ✅
u cant
And he’s debating what he should or shouldn’t say lol
I didn’t think of peaches when he said “the big hit”. I thought he meant “get you”
I was thinking of “Best Part”.
I think that’s why he reacted with “oh yea!?” Cuz he’s had so many hits like that
Fr. It wasn’t even his song. Why bring it up lmao
thats why he sarcastically said "oh yeah", then gave him a little fake confusion hahaha
Literally! I get why he seemed a bit confused😂
The way he's handled the cancelation by simply apologizing and moving on is so mature. Hope the rest of the world will grow up and forgive him.
so what happened? I never knew what all went down with that

The truth in this.😬

this is a perfect analysis exactly what I was thinking while watching
I want to watch every interview of Daniel Caesar that exists
“Was waiting on a feeling that was fleeting” hits hard

Tom really knows how to listen and register what Daniel is saying and contributing to a better interview/conversation

That's the best interview ever, lot of introspection, truths on truths on truths, just discovered Daniel with "let me go", I love him 😊
good interview. wish it was longer. interviewer was good at allowing Daniel to see his thoughts all the way through, and Daniel’s thoughts are pure
I love and appreciate his vulnerability, humilty, self
reflection and awareness, and raw and realness!!
Love this guy 🥺 he’s an amazing artist and I just wanna have deep conversation with him for hours. I so relate to that feeling of never enough.

We all are dealing through the same feeling but with different situations in the broad sense
First discovered Daniel in 2014 when he did a cover of Chevalier - its incredible to have witnessed his journey over the last decade!
This man is like a brother to me at this point
Respectfully, you do not know the man

I ended up absolutely loving this new album and really connecting with it I love Daniel hes one of the greats!!!
Daniel Caesar referencing a quote from The Office is one of the highlights of this interview!!!!!
beautiful interview thank you so much for that 💕

It really interrupts the flow of Daniel’s thoughts/the interview
Daniel I know you know this but only God through our Lord Jesus Christ can fill that void 🙏❤
Damn hope he eventually drops shy that way

Bro’s firebending got weak bc it was fueled by resentment so he gotta switch his fuel
He brought up a song that not even on the album 😭
which one? Unless you mean peaches
tom gotta stop putting words in his mouth
No contracts ps. No contracts yet
😊
Who?
Tom Power comes across as a little creepy here lol….great interviews but why the deep space 9 stares guy?lol
Really? From all of his song you came up for a feature song? Lol😅
His talking style reminds me of kanye
this is his billie eilish interview
what that mean

Never heard of this dude. Ever.
He was wrong but it’s a prime example how black twitter got bad takes and I literally usually don’t mind there complaints
But that take gives them a bad name everyone use to be edgy and stupid we’ve grown up let it go
This guy is a horrible interviewer
