    3 years late to this video, but I am now experiencing this issue with moisturize. And seeing that you mentioned a wig. Mind blowing that I started wearing a glueless wig last week and i am now noticing the front of my hair is falling off and it mushy. 😮😮😮

    This sucks. Who knew we could OVER CONDITION our hair 😭 my hair is definitely overly moisturized. This video explained it so well. I have afoge already because I suspected that. I used it but I didn’t know I was supposed to STOP conditioning too so I pretty much used it in vain. Next time I shower, it will be ONLY protein treatment. NO conditioner. And forget the dang bottle instructions I’m sitting under the dryer sheeiit. I need protein asap. Who would think conditioning could lead to breakage. I was doing my weekly hot oil treatments and deep conditioning treatments and everything EVERY week 🤦🏽‍♀️

      @@beautyrefinment We are always learning something new lol What I have come to realize is that less is really more with our hair and too much of one thing is never a good thing.

    Heyy I’m going through this rn. Did you ever deep condition when you were wearing your hair in Bantu knots? What would your wash day look like (products etc) when you were recovering?
    Thanks 💖💖

    • @AmandaMHunt
      @AmandaMHunt  4 года назад +5

      Isthisallthereis hey There! So sorry you’re dealing with this, no fun.
      To answer your questions: no I did not feel condition, because that’s added moisture and moisture was the last thing my hair needed at the time. My wash day was very simpleX I would use shampoo or a clay wash and then condition. And every now and then I did the 2 step protein treatment. keeping it nice and simple is very important.

    Yo I'm going thru this rn and it's been like a month maybe even more and i still can't get rid of it 😭😭 I've been doing egg hair masks and it works for like 3 days but then it just turns overly soft/weightless/all other symptoms and also rlly dry helppppp Idk wat to do

      Hi there! I'm so sorry you're going through this. it can be a lot but it can be fixed. Stop doing the egg mask, it doesn't work...at all. The egg can't penetrate your hair and does nothing for you. Try using the aphogee protein treatment. The small packet I use is a dollar and change at the beauty supply store and really makes a difference. i hope this helps sis :)

      @@AmandaMHunt thank you for sharing this. I am going through this right now was wondering how often, and for how many months you did the aphogee treatment before it turned around. and also, what you used to shampoo and moisturize besides the aphogee. thanks so much in advance.

      @@sfadavi5724 Hi there! So happy this could help in any way. So it was so long ago I'm not too sure how long it took the apogee to completely turn it around but after the very first time I saw a difference. I used regular shampoo and conditioner and the same products I used to moisturize before which were water, a leave in conditioner and an oil. What I made sure to do was not use them too often and I only use da little bit at a time. I truly hope this helps!

    Gyal! I realized the same ish! I used to think DROWNING my hair in water and leave in-conditioner was the best thing because I have dry hair. And by dry, I mean my family literally used to call me “DryHead” 🤣 but the moment I stopped using so much water and hydrating/moisturizing products, my hair finally grew!! 🥴
