Sensational. You are the Ansel Adams in Color-Photographie. The pictures on your Homepage are phantastic, I enjoyed it very much. Best Wishes and merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Gary! The first time we visited Scotland (not Skye unfortunately, we've only been once) we were told to expect all four seasons in one day.. and we weren't disappointed! Don't you just love it!? Your photos of the Storr are absolutely mindblowing by the way. When we were on Skye we only ever saw it from the road, and you just don't get the shear sense of scale and just how enormous it is!

Thanks for watching Ash. It's cracking weather isn't it lol, never know what to expect next!. The scale is phenomenal isn't it. We had planned to go to the ridge above for shots looking down but weather wasn't playing ball. 😀👍👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer What I'd really like to do is send a drone up there, but the weather would really have to play ball to be able to do that! I don't think it'd be possible to be honest.

Hi Gary: Great video and I love all your images. We have had to post-pone coming to Scotland 3 different times over the last two years but hopefully we can get this in the spring this year. This entire area is just one big bucket list for me. I am turning 65 during this trip, so I know I won't have many more opportunities to get there. Wonderful video so thanks for sharing. Cheers, Keith

    Epic.
Skye is near the top of places I want to visit. I'm more of a Landscape Painter, than Photographer, but either way it looks like there is more than enough to keep both things well occupied.
You showed some areas I've not seen before. Thank you for that.
In Scotland, there's no such thing as bad weather - just the wrong clothes.

Last time I went up Stac Pollaidh, it snowed on the way up, and I got sunburn on the way down. Gotta love the Highlands 😂

Wonderful as always Gary, we gave up owing to the weather and the huge amount of people crowding the area, Must do better next time!! Thank you,

Thanks again for watching Victor. Yeah seems to be best time to go is when it's raining or very first thing in morning, pre-sunrise and then it's only a handful of photographers up there with you 😀👍👍

Was up there at the beginning of October, half an hour can make a huge difference. Clouds to clear then back to clouds. Love the landscape

Yep, that's Skye! It could be blue skies 28 degrees all over the mainland, cross that bridge (or by any of the other maritime routes) and you're into a zone in itself! Always has you coming back. I managed to do the Fairy Pools this year a couple of months ago and it was the midges being the problem then! I remember the look of horror on this English guy about to set off as I had just returned, "Is . . . is that DEAD FLIES covering your face!??" 😨 He wasn't kidding and to be honest, the midges on my face were likely drowning victims of the 3yr old bottle of SSS that got overused due to a possible loss in repellent potency! 😆

    • @GaryMcIntyrePhotographer
      @GaryMcIntyrePhotographer  3 года назад +1

😂The midgies are terrible aren't they! You try to time it when there's a 5mph wind or above, thinking yep it'll be fine and then when you get to the location there's no wind. Many thanks for watching 😀👍👍

Brilliant video!! I found myself watching this on my phone, with my tv firestick screensaver kicking in, when I looked up, one of the Amazon standard pics was a very similar composition to yours at neist point! Made me laugh! You’re braver than me venturing out in that wild weather 😂

I see you're back to the Nikon for this trip, as opposed to the Fuji.

Yeah I had to swap systems unfortunately as my partner has a Z6ii so it made financial sense to buy just one system of lenses. I do miss everything about the Fuji though :(

That sums our beautiful country up gary, totally unpredictable, looks like you had a brilliant if slightly wet time on Skye.
Lets hope it dries up for a little while to get some Autumn colour before the first gales remove the leaves.
