RECORD Fish Ruined...Catch Clean Cook (Deep Sea Fishing)

- This video is from our trip to Panama City, Florida where we went deep sea fishing for Snapper and grouper with Capt. Josh from Heritage Excursions. We went 18 miles offshore in search of gag grouper, scamp grouper, red grouper, red snapper, vermillion snapper and mangrove snapper. We ended up catching some trophy sized red grouper! The sharks were out of control and we almost lost one of our trophy grouper. The bottom fishing in Panama City is unbelievable and a great thing to experience with your family! After fishing we headed over to the shell island sandbar to cook our fresh catch!

Just do the sharks the same way people do the wolves out west! shoot 'em and shutup! I know of places out West that used to be prime elk hinting 10 years ago that you can't find a damn elk there today.

Same exact thing happened to me yesterday, only my red grouper was bit in two halfway up the dorsal, I feel your pain.
Well you ain't lying about those triggerfish man. Many years ago spearfishing I got a few trigger fish on a dive. I put them on a metal ring stringer but put it through their eyes. One bit me on the inner thigh at about 120 on a wreck. I was wearing a wetsuit but it hurt so bad. I was lucky it hadn't bit me a few more inches to the right. Took a few minutes before it let go. That's the day I learned that with trigger fish, you put the stringer through their mouth. Took weeks to heal up.
Mr. Crist, it happens to the best of us guy! I had a rig straight up torqued out of my left hand as I was turned away and not paying attention BSing with my buddy on the boat. I couldn’t believe it and my buddy did a pelican dive and actually caught it before it went down. That hit was so hard I coulda swore it was a freight train that took it!

I think you will agree that we do not have a shark problem. We have a people problem. We are over fishing the hell out of our waters, mostly from the commercial side and i'm not talking about charter guys as much as the floating fisheries that we have from every country that really does not have limits. I do believe we need to change our mind set about limiting out every time we go fishing as well. Mini Season every single boat out there tries to limit out. I know because i am that guy but im trying to change that and i started this year. We did not limit out and we could have but we left a few out there so we can hunt another day. I do not judge anyone for limiting out but i do believe we as individuals can help in a small way by starting to change our mind sets. The ocean is unable to keep up with what we are taking out of it and the science and sharks are proving it. These are just my thoughts none the less i still enjoy your videos. I cast no judgement and i will continue to follow you and Brook's journeys. Keep up the great work!

You should mention about lime juice. If you are in the sun you need to wash it off as soon as you can. The juice will make you much more susceptible to sunburn!

I lost a 20 lb red snapper last wendsday to a shark fishing out of Orange Beach Al. The front third floated up behind the boat about a minute after pulling the hook.
That was the biggest red grouper I've ever seen even without a tail. That mangrove was huge also I caught one 2 years ago that was 11lbs

I was reading that if a fish is sharked you have to throw it back you can't keep it in the state of Florida is it because you have commercial license you can keep them like that
If it’s a legal fish before the shark gets a hold of it your good! But say it’s like a redfish over size or a out of season red snapper then yea you’ve got to toss them back

It’s because Landshark is entertaining a larger audience in a professional manner. Usually people like watching RUclipsrs who fish go after big fish like: Groupers, Sharks, etc because it’s entertaining. Viewers aren’t entertained by you going after small 7-8 inch fish.
Ace Videos is one of the smaller RUclipsrs who does catch Trout plus other smaller fish and cooks them whole, I’d recommend taking a peek at his videos!

the sharks are not at record numbers. In Charleston we don't have any sharks because people in Florida are killing them when they migrate

I caught a mangrove snapper like that but it was not over ten pounds is was 9 pounds
IF the Sharks are bugging you then catch a couple off the spots you usually fish that have learned to take fish that you hook.
I once got my finger caught by a mangrove snapper dehooking it, had to use a screwdriver to pry his mouth open.
That is some sexy fish! The shark problem, well they are natural gods creation, so we have to accept them equally as the other fish. It is a bummer when you pull a half a fish out of the water, but thats life unfortunately. Good fishing 🎣

First to say first
The State of Florida banned commercial harvesting of sharks years ago. Ask Bouncer about it.. Back then, the harvesting quantities were relative to the commercial and recreational harvesting of fish. So the shark to fish ratio remained normal. But with the sharks not being harvested, now the sharks are gaining in % numbers while the fish are continuing to decline in numbers. So the ration is now thown off. The sharks are now a serious problem. Where is CCA with all this. Both Florida and the Federal administration needs to allow commercial shark fishing again so we can get numbers under control. It's seriously gotten out of hand.
I would prefer the Fish Tacos.

Too many sharks? Nice problem to have, I wish we had it. They're overfished to hell here, several species are protected and for most of the rest you can have a limit of 1 each. There's a couple more with a combined limit of two.
