  • In this video, I got invited out with Brandon and Captain Dustin Bush from ‪@nsanefishing‬ and FishNcrazy Charters on a trip out to the Florida Middle Grounds 80+ miles offshore of the Tampa Bay area. The goal of the trip was to catch big gag grouper, red grouper, and american red snapper while bottom fish between 100-140' with some mangrove snapper, lane snapper, vermillion snapper, almaco jack, and amberjack as by-catch. We were dropping both live bait and frozen bait down on fish finder and chicken rigs, along with some slow pitch jigs. It was one of the best days of offshore fishing I've ever experienced with me catching 3 new personal bests!

    Great video and at the end for the part of all three groupers, each fish match with the person who caught it 😂🤣

    Offshore is so much fun when you’re slaying them like that! I caught a big Cobia offshore yesterday on the other coast of Florida on vacation. Awesome video, looking forward to a summer of Black Drum Bridge Beasts!

    captain just a recommendation but you might want to start putting "rod knobs" on the gimble but of the rod bottoms they work so much better.good luck

  • @FishingTheStock
    @FishingTheStock 5 месяцев назад

    Food for thought -- if you put the rod butt under your left arm, it will help make reeling with your right hand much less awkward and more efficient.

    You guys deff had the right gear. Interesting though to see a carolina rig in that depth of water. Ironically In Carolinas we use a conventional Grouper Rig 🤷🏼‍♂️
    Some of those Groupers looked awfully small to go in the box is there not size limits where you were fishing??

    A descending device would be a better way of putting the fish back down to the bottom.
    The hole you guys are putting in them causes a open wound that causes infections. Survival rate goes way down.

    What do you consider the “middle grounds” I’m new to this and curious.

    • @SeeYaDude
      @SeeYaDude  2 года назад

      The Middle Grounds is a large area of natural reef and hard bottom found off the west coast of Florida. From where we launched, we entered the Middle Grounds around the 55 mile mark offshore

    What do you have your drag set to on your speed master? What # braid? Didn’t see it in your description.

    • @SeeYaDude

      I do not know really because that was one of the other guys setups that I borrowed. Their RUclips channel is called "Nsanefishing", they might talk about it in some of their videos or in the descriptions

    Just point the slow pitch rod at the water and reel..all that pumping you’re doing is going to lose you fish 🙂

    I swear on those reels, when you hook a big fish you are fighting the gear as well as the fish. Aren't spinning reels so much better?

  • @SuperJox
    @SuperJox 2 года назад

    It doesn’t make sense how those style of reels are mostly right hand crank

    • @MrEli204
      @MrEli204 2 года назад +1

      They’re right handed because majority of people are right handed and thus their strongest arm. You use a conventional because they put the most cranking power down on big fish.
