I love the purity and the uniqueness of Fernando ortegas music. It is absolutely outstanding. If you have not listened to "just as I am"it is one of his very best!
Fernando Ortega's music speaks to my soul like nothing else does. What an inspiring journey, how God made it clear to this good man that He wanted him writing & performing music to His glory! And Fernando has fulfilled this calling in such a powerful way, continues to do so. Truly inspiring.
WOW.. I can relate to the anxiety & depression he speaks about. Fears keeping you up at night 😴.. but then JESUS arrives to the scene and brings His Joy within! Amen. Love you JESUS. 🌹
Jesus King of Angels is by far my favorite song of his. It has also helped me when I felt anxiety in my life. So thankful for this song and what a blessing it is.
Awesome interview! I love how God manifests His own creative genius in and through the lives of His people. Awesome interview. Awesome God we serve. Thanks for this!
His music has truly helped in playing a huge part at changing my life towards loving our beautiful creator even more. How precious God is, he loves us so much and all he wants is as many people to get to know him, love him and learn to be more like Christ Jesus. I pray all who is reading this take a minute of your day to read the Bible, learn about him..let him in your life, your life will change!😊
Fernando’s music and just resting in and relying on God is what got me through the uncertain times during the pandemic. I just kept coming back to his music. ❤
"He was such an incredible theologian but boy did he love birds" is a hilarious sentence. Really great interview, thankful for Fernando's music over the years.
I take issue with Alistair Begg's admonition to write happier songs. 🙄 I love Fernando's (pronounced fur-non-doe) songs and music! He is the only artist whose every work I have collected (including his bird book). His classical training shines through in his arrangements and performance. His music is such a blessing in my life.
I'm so blessed by Fernando's music. I adore "Children of the living God" is such a happy song. Oh, I have to try to obtain Fernando's Bird book God! God bless him in every way.
Great to hear a little about Fernando's story. It is easy to get the music, but not always easy to hear the story of the artist behind the music so nice to have a small glimpse.
I was a brand new Christian, widowed, in 1996 with a little boy (now 29) and moved to Midwest to have him grow up in Christian home and school. I fell in love with your music and used it for my prayer and worship! I actually got to see you at Honenegah high School in Rockton, Illinois back in 1999. I wish I could have met you! My daughter (19) taught herself piano at age 8 from just watching the Sound of Music with the do re mi song. Anyway she is mostly deaf in her right ear due to her cleft being on that side. She can harmonize like Allison Kraus. I can’t wrap my head around it. But she wants to do music. She knows music and almost got a chance but didn’t want to be famous. She has anxiety and is an old, but quiet soul.
I’m still watching interview. You spoke about your teenage daughter Ruby. My daughter Kat loves the 70s and 80s too. She’s not really into today’s music but is writing her own songs now.
I've been curious for a long time about understanding how God feels about His creation. As an artist, most of my artwork was destroyed in a fire. I felt a very strong sense of loss. I tried to replace them, but they just weren't the same no matter how hard I tried. The loss I felt wasn't just the paintings and drawings, but for me, it was like part of me burned up in the fire. Looking back, I think maybe God used that experience to help me understand Him better. I think He was sharing with me the loss He feels when His creation turns against Him, curses Him, runs from Him. He loves us so much.
Great interview, have loved his music for a long time. I can’t find his book online. Is it available anywhere to purchase? It appears to be sold out on most platforms.

As someone who struggles with sleeping because of life and uncertainties. I can relate. God please help me.

That's one of my favorite songs of his, Jesus, King of angels. And a happier song of his is, Prepare the way, O Zion!

Why can't Allistair have an opinion? Cleary he adores his music.
Where can I get a copy of his bird book?!!!
Can I tell you how much Sing to Jesus means to me. I’ve scrol up and down it looking for such beautiful music ❤❤❤❤
