I have this same motherboard and processor and I freaked out with the amount force it took to secure the processor.

You mean how much force it took to get it in the socket or how much it took to lock the socket down on it?

Well-done with "mapping out" referencing how to position the CPU to put in motherboard at about 2:11! Needed that little instruction. :-)

My CPU moved around a little in the socket. I was a bit surprised.

So unless I missed this, I have this same board. Some questions: Are the Case to board connectors for reset sw, power sw, hdd led, power led - , Power Led + are those supposed to be loose to their connectors or snug? do they pop in? , Second question: I must have missed it, Looking at so little my instructions gave Am I supposed to put a Power Cable to my 24 Pin connector and the 2x8 Pin connector?

I'm considering putting a 13700k in this board for a new build. Will the VRM give me enough headroom or should I get something beefier?

i’ve been trying to install my drivers what ones do i need to install cause i just select all of them and some will say they install but then i try to install the next one and it says the previous isn’t installed so i’m stuck and also geforce experience won’t install either

I thought the pins on my motherboard came bent... new to PC building and i was freaked out when I saw the CPU port. is that how most intel boards pins look like?

19:09 Its odd. My MOBO instructions seem to say the two RAM slots furtherest out from the CPU for the RAM. I thought it would be the closest one, and then skip one....

Hello David! Can use only one ESP cable to power this motherboard ? I have a Seasonic 650w PSU but have only one EPS connector. I plan to buy this motherboard and 12600k CPU. What is your opinion. I mention that i will not overclock the ram or CPU.

The short answer, yes...it works. There are Z690's out there that have only 1x8 like the Gigabyte Z690i (ITX) that I will be unveiling on the channel within a couple of days. Though you will not OC the CPU, if you run benchmarks...you may end up adjusting power limits as you may experience power limit throttling. This happened to me on my I7 and I9, but I don't remember when I had the i5-12600k in here if it did as well.
Here is a little video I made comparing benchmarks and other elements (power limit/current limit...etc) on an I9-12900 with a 1x8 and two 1x8 cpu power connectos: ruclips.net/video/jc4k853e7_Y/видео.html In the video, you will see the power draw was the same...the scores were roughly the same. With that type CPU, it did suffer from current limit throttling which was resolved by two 1x8's and potentially distributing the electrical load more efficiently.

Hi PC H/W, my Lan connection on my MOBO has a "tab" on the I/O shield with a hole in it, kinda blocking my plugging into it. Is that to be expected and how can I get it out (I've already installed everything around it lol.) Thanks!

It might be that you installed a thirteen gen CPU which would require a bios update for compatibility.

@PC H/W and Tech Unboxings : do you know where the wifi chip is of any information of video that shows it i would like to know where it is... no other pc video review video uploader is going in depth you would stick out from everyone else if you are knowledgeable or decided to go in depth into the board, idk where to look for this information and it seems to be really "hidden" from general public knowledge... i dislike this situation.

also check out gamer nexus about how chips sit on boards and cause more heat and are not FLUSH to the board and someone developed a piece to FLUSH the cpu to the board. debaurer. if you did not know.

    • @PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1

There are different levels with motherboards..this is not one if the record breaking motherboards...those are usually as expensive as these CPUs when they first launch. That said..I have not pushed my 12th gen in this motherboard. I had issues with my 13th gen running hot in these motherboard without a really good CPU cooler. Making overclocking difficult.
