A great design. Printing the riser gave a place to mount the lights without being obtrusive - I used 6000k LEDs along the front and side walls - a 3 ft kit from Amazon. What a huge difference they made!. I printed your Tapo camera mount and installed it the way you describe. Extremely nice! You have a new subscriber.
Fantastic video, answered every question I came here with including 'is there a cheap way to do this'! Those Tapo cameras really are the full package on a budget!
Cheers! I'm amazed by how awesome this printer is compared to my old 2nd hand Ender 3v2, but was surprised by the poor camera quality and frame rates were. Your video gave me my first useful project.
Superb information, perfect presentation! Ordered the c110! And my first ever 3D Printer P1S will be delivered also today! Subbed and liked instantly! 😂🎉
I have this exact camera. Right now I have it double-sided taped on the top glass, looking thru it. I just had to push the AMS back a bit to leave a few inches for the camera to look in. No problem so far beside some overhead reflections. Once I update the LED light it should not be a problem. I like your design too but I just hate to have to reposition the camera every time I open the door. Perhaps you can create a hinge on the bracket so you can just flip it up, then flip it down when done. That way the original position of the camera isn't changed. I also like to hot glue the ball joint in place so it cannot be moved.
Glad it was helpful! It amazes me people are still stumbling across this video almost 5-6 months later. I should uh.... Really come out with another one.
I'm super sorry for the late reply. The ones I got (which I do not reccomend) are www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BV8XLSXH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but it looks like they are unavailable. I searched up "Neon Strip LED light" and that should point you in the right direction if you haven't already found some.
Я хотел бы! У меня много работы по дому и во дворе. У меня есть несколько идей, но реализовать их на практике - самое сложное! Я не умею говорить по-русски, но в этом мне помог Google Translate.
I picked one up after watching this and wow there is a massive glare...its turned the door into a mirror. do you leave the door open when printing? its either i leave the lights off in the room or the door open in order to see the camera image. Also how are you wrapping the power cable? along the top?
On my end, there is only a minimal glare, but that might be a lighting thing, though I do have the camera pretty close to the glass. You can make out the reflection of the camera with the door closed, but only barely. I used both door open and door closed in the video. I do have the cable kinda just going out the rear. I had meant to stick a cable guide on the sides, but it hadn't been an issue for me.
I think it'd be possible, I'll have to see if there's a good way to affix something to the sides of the P1S. I think it's all plastic, so it'd have to be adhesive-based. X1C being aluminum has the upper hand on that, would only need magnets. @@87livinglegend
@WorstestNongineer man that sounds awesome. I finally have a riser too and it's only up from here. I was thinking of reprinting the riser and affix a hole to route the wire out the back.
Thanks! I think I'm fine with this channel not growing, I don't plan on making content, I just wanna video the projects and models I make. Feeling like I've got to put out content for an audience made me dread the thought of filming and editing. I'm just focusing on learning 3d modeling, learning some electronics, and then video-ing projects I'd like to work on. I've got a video-adhesive video I had refilmed like 15 times because I'd get my lines messed up, but I'm just going to do it very casually and comfortably. I'll get through it once I stop getting mad at a video game I'm playing, hah!
Unfortunately, not without some fancy inclusions from a Home Automation app, which requires a bit more figuring that I haven't done myself. The Tapo camera doesn't know anything about the printer and thus wouldn't be able to take a picture on layer changes.
I absolutely love this but i bought it all and it fouls the arc enclosure front door. 😢 struggling to figure out how to make it work as im new to making my own stuff
@@WorstestNongineer Upon further investigation it comes with a 110-240V wall wart with an output of 9V, so even if you modified it by replacing the wall thingy with a USB plug it still wouldn't work, as the USB output on the printer is only 5V.
The Xtouch looks interesting, but I usually just use my PC or the Handy App to control my printer. I came from using a MakerGear M2 which had no screen at all, so even the meager P1S screen is an upgrade for me!
No, no need to pay as it saves to the MicroSD card inside. I only considered the streaming capability and for just checking in, not so much recording footage. I saved this footage for the video by plugging the video stream into OBS and recording it.
The p1s is somewhat embarrassing to show its camera feed to friends. I had one ask me if it was broken because it was such low frame rate lol. but ive never had it not connect unless my entire phone doesnt have service. I kind of wish the frame rate could be turned even further down so it was more like a reupdating slideshow and less like a really choppy video. and although it is bad, I have yet to feel the need to upgrade because it is still good enough I can tell when a print is failing and can stop it
I might not have been so moved to find an alternative if it'd reliably pop up for me outside of my home. The image is definitely serviceable to see if your print is failing. Though back when I made this video, I was definitely still in the honeymoon phase of wanting to watch the print in real time at all times, hah!
No timelapse, unfortunately since it does not integrate with the printer or Bambu studio at all. It's just a monitoring camera. I've looked into some automation stuff that could possibly time pictures, but even trying to set it up myself I know it's going to be far too variable for most people. I'm having issues and the documentation requires a certain subset of knowledge I do not have.
Had a good laugh at the jokes. Nice video and thanks for the awesome idea and for the 3d files as well ❤
Thank you for the comment! I'm glad someone finally acknowledged my attempts at humor.

Just ordered my first printer. Saved this video!! Well explained!
Fantastic video, answered every question I came here with including 'is there a cheap way to do this'!

They're pretty good for the price! Not perfect and could use more options but for what I wanted, hard to beat.
I set up the camera and mount on my P1S this past weekend and everything is fantastic. Thank you so much for this video!

Thanks for providing this video greatly appreciate your time and fixes. 👍
Excellent video and idea. I used the C00 so its not as nice and seemingly not as wide angled but it got the job done!
As long as you can, you know, see things! It might not have been so bad if not for the camera working like 35% of the time when outside of the home.
Sir, I love your style 😎 Keep making more great content like this!
Thanks for the camera mount, have been looking for something similar for a bit now. Thanks again.

Have you considered taking the camera apart and mounting it inside the printer?
That's a pretty worthwhile consideration!
Thanks for idea and stl, installed camera and led today, looks pretty good!
You're very welcome! Hearing this makes me happy.
Great video! Thanks for being thorough and adding all the camera angles! (The camera used to film most shots, not the TP-Link lol)
Thanks a ton! I try to do it as if I were a viewer. Still getting the hang of this video making thing so this comment means a lot!
Awesome content !🔥 You’re a natural.

Sorry to ask, but my son and I are new to 3D printing; what are the LED lights that you use for the riser? Thanks again!

The Arc enclosure? What do you mean?
Will the Tapo C110 camera work plugged into the USB-A socket just behind the LED display on the inside of the P1P/P11S?
I don't believe so, the Tapo C110 uses a standard power outlet connection, it's not powered via USB.

Can I make ti.elapse with this camera?
Unfortunately not, it doesn't know anything about the printer and can't time it. However the camera for the P1S has serviceable timelapses.
I know this guy!
What about Timelapse

My k1 max camera is so much better than my p1s 😂
Gosh I wouldn't doubt it. Bambu really set the bar kinda low on it. Fantastic printer. Just the camera is merely... serviceable.
@WorstestNongineer Yeah it's unfortunate as it is a very helpful tool to use if your not home and want to see how the print is going.
So how do you do timelapses with it? you just do full recording instead then edit a 48hr video? lol. please help
