Like to distress it? You can, while you’re crocheting it, pull your working loop long and skip stitches and then when u crochet into the next stitch it’ll have the two pieces of yarn going across it and then when you’re done with your hole, u just chain as much as u need when u get to it and then work into that chain like normal when u get back to it next round. That probably is hard to follow lolol but I did it in my Vcha video with the green and black striped top if u wanna check that part out!
