Peter Sam is the type of guy to...
Point out the teacher’s mistake.
Be running this line
Chase And Run After The Ocean
complain once about his new funnel being squashed
Show his special funnel to the refreshment lady
Peter Sam is the Narrow Gauge engine i relate to the most. He's helpful, kind, optimistic, while a bit naive, gullible and overzealous.
He's a sweetheart, with a heart of gold, and always sees the good in everybody and in any situation where things go wrong.
Same here, That's also myself
Im peter sam im running this line im peter sam im running this line 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love Peter Sam so much. He's such a gentleman and a lovable little guy. But one thing I love about him is the relationship between himself, Sir Handel and Duke. And there's a window of the history between the three engines we don't really explore.
You gotta remember, according to the books, the MSR closed in 1947; Falcon and Stuart were at Peel Godred until 1952; and Duke wasn't found until 1969. Just picture that: Duke (the grandfather) was separated from Falcon and Stuart (the grandchildren) for *twenty-two* years! Of those twenty-two years, Falcon and Stuart were flying solo Peel Godred (1947-1952) before being recovered by the Skarloey Railway (1952-1969). Sidenote, (Headcanon territory) I think it's possible they lost their nameplates along the way and their manager refused to call them by their names, so that's why they got the names Sir Handel and Peter Sam by the Thin Controller and owner later.
Back to the point, it would have been extremely difficult for the duo to cope without Duke for that long, which I believe explains a lot about the way they are. Peter Sam often gets to work as a coping mechanism to be optimistic; but in the lonely hours of night, he's often heard crying. As for Sir Handel, he is angry about the world. Angry that the MSR closed, angry that he had to move places twice, and especially angry that Duke got rejected by the Aluminium Works. Also according to Duke the Lost Engine, Sir Handel and Peter Sam said that they 'often talked about Duke when alone'. *Alone*. Which means they've been keeping him a secret for a long time. I think it was mostly money issues and the fact Skarloey and Rheneas were on overhaul for so long that they kept things quiet. They had to win the trusts of everyone before they could come clean about Duke and their past. Of course, Duck mentioned that all engine dukes were scrapped, which nearly destroyed Peter Sam's hope altogether... and in doing so, broke Sir Handel down even more. (More headcanon territory) however, ever since Peter Sam had 'given Duck his dukes', Duck has been determined to figure out why Peter Sam (and as he found out later, Sir Handel) took those words so hard. Which lead him to finding the Aresdale Railway two years later, and he continued digging up clues. Ultimately though, it's Cora, Gertrude and Millicent who persuade Sir Handel and Peter Sam to come clean, and that leads to them telling the others about their Granpuff. Duck apologises to Sir Handel and Peter Sam, Duke is found, and the rest is history.
Sodor's finest be like:
It’s cool that he made a video right after they announced that Peter Sams model have been found.
That's why he made it
@@Eai5038rlly well I must’ve forgot about that
Well now we just need to find out if TomsProps is still taking care of Rheneas and Duncan after Adam exposed his gatekeeping problem.
@Roll_tot if u look in the thumbnail u will see the o gauge prop
Cool
I liked pretty much all the narrow gauge engines from a young age, from Smudger to Duncan. Peter Sam stood out thanks to his unique funnel over his deeper personality, but having grown up I now appreciate just how much the characters have to them.
PETER SAM:🎵 I'M PETER SAM, I'M RUNNIN' THIS LINE; I'M PETER SAM, I'M RUNNIN' THIS LINE!!!🎵
I like Peter Sam, he has been through a lot & he had shown that you can’t keep an engine down. Even when things get bad, there is always a bright side to things. An example would be in the episodes trucks, special funnel & the refreshment lady’s new tea shop.
According to a SiF interview with Robert Gauld-Galliers and his storyboards, Peter Sam was originally meant to be the main character in ''Rheneas and the Roller Coaster'' from Series 7 . Instead of wanting the children's trip to be special, he would have wanted to get it over with so he could return to doing more important work. Open coaches, similar to Ada, Jane and Mabel from the Railway Series, were also set to appear.
Peter Sam and Rheneas are tied as my favorite narrow-gauge engines on my top 10 favorite Thomas characters list.
Most ppl go forth with Special Funnel as their favorite Peter Sam episode, but I love The Refreshment Lady's Tea Shop more because I like how it carries the continuity with his dynamic with the Refreshment Lady and how he returns the favor by helping her find a new tea shop to actually coming up with the idea of turning an old coach into a mobile tea room, which feels reminiscent of other episodes where it carries on the tradition of old things being restored.
There is one fan story I've read on DeviantArt where TheLOKRailfan wrote about Peter Sam having his Geisel Ejector taken off and replaced with his old funnel again based on Edward Thomas' experience with said-funnel and feels depressed about it, as it gives him a unique characteristic (he also had his old funnel strangely in the magazine stories). I've read more about the Geisel Ejector through Train of Thought and apparently, it was used also on other engines to help perform more like the Austerity Tank Engines, the Bulleid Light Pacifics and the BR 9Fs. So imagine where there was one story where it's kind of the same thing, but then when Peter Sam realizes another engine has his special funnel modified to them (either Rebecca or Murdoch) he snaps, assuming he/she stole it until he is reassured that it's not being stolen.
Seeing this video gave me more appreciation of him. He's both adorable and naive.
Peter Sam is mine always
THE MEMES OMG THEY ARE ACTUALLY PERFECT
Gotta admit, this video gave me some more appreciation for Peter Sam, I already really liked him but now it just gives me more appreciation for him
6:48 technically he was kinda right since sir handel eventually changed his ways and it only took six seasons of absents.
I completely agree with don't bother victor being a gem in the nitro gen era, i love how he tries to respect victor with doing what he was told to do. "Don't bother victor"
I have a serious new found appreciation for peter sam now i think hes my new favorite narrow gauge engine as a character
(Mighty mac is still my favorite design)
Fun Fact:Peter Sam is the middle of three brothers.
Pete Sam.
Peter Sam.
Petest Sam.
When Peter Sam is doing Peter Sam things, is he Peteing, Samming, or Peter Samming?
Something tells me he likes Peter Sam
Peter Sam is the type of guy to turn on the light when a burglar is there
You made me realise that Peter Sam is probably the most underrated character in Thomas. I think I’ve now gained a new appreciation for him after seeing this video. He’s also kinda like me in a way now that I think about it.
Peter Sam is our favorite little goober
I just want to say that I love the narrow gauge engines in the CGI series because the animators had really made most of them look exactly like how they appeared in the RWS books and their real life basis from the Talyllyn Railway. (Except for Duncan) And another thing 18:22 did anyone else notice that CGI Peter Sam was given a Talyllyn Railway style tail lamp on his back end?
@@joelcartagena953 I’d love to see more characters rendered like that in the revival era. Also, that’s a cool feature that I totally overlooked.
@@joshuaW5621 Sniff Sniff. I'm begging you please bring everything into the magical world of CGI Thomas & Friends. Sniff Please bring back Andrew Brenner and we need more of Michael White. He's like the next Rev.W.Awdry.
@@joelcartagena953 maybe I will once that Marc Froster movie is out and is hopefully a success. Actually, I will. And I will bring back BoCo and Duke.
Peter Sam is my favorite narrow gauge engine, I always enjoyed him as a character and I love his story of when he got his new funnel
I admit he's also my favorite, In season 5 Peter Sam was supposed to have a speaking role but was cut in the episode Duncan Gets Spooked
0:01 That moment is something I am still shocked about. But I’m glad that Peter Sam’s original model is OK
7:27 Gordon's face on henry
This feels like an unofficial Sodor’s Finest
And The Thomas Theorist had made a similar video about Emily although it's more of a defense and it's structured differently. He also made a video about the Thin Clergyman.
Yea Pater sam is a amazing character
Peter Sam is definitely my favourite narrow gauge character; I find him so relatable.
Gotta love some Peter Sam
I’m glad to see another Peter Sam stan.
When I listened to Willie Rushton's narrations of the Railway Series as a child, my introduction to the Skarloey Railway was the 17th Railway Series book "Gallant Old Engine", which ironically kicked off with Peter Sam's story entitled "Special Funnel".
Furthermore, "Special Funnel" was the first-ever episode of Series 4 I watched as a child. Series 4 always has a special place in my heart because of the introduction of the narrow-gauge engines, especially Peter Sam.
Special Funnel was also my first S4 Episode
Puh. I should get more recognision too! But my friend deserves it though. Good on ya Peter Sam!
In my opinion I feel like that in the model era I think that Peter Sam made a great character in the era but in HIT era I feel like he was for me kinda dumb but in the magical lamp we got a good sequel for Peter finding the statue of proteus he’s the best
Character
Peter Sam has always been one of my favorites, and he always will be
Well, to be fair, the Miller era of the CGI series have to build up to bring back characters overtime after The Steam Team which would explain why the narrow gauge engines return late in the game before the Brenner era
This is also the reasons why peter sam is also my fav character
You asked for it! As a certified Corris/Talyllyn Nerd I will fight you on the "Peter Sam wears green much better" take! You already go into depth about Edward Thomas' history and how it influences your opinion, which is why I feel I must bring up this: The original livery for the Corris Railway Tattoo No.4 was oxide red. Never did it wear green in his "working-life", it only came in "retirement" in the 50's Talyllyn Railway, who had only the deep bronze green available to them at the time, hence all engines received that paint-job.
I guess it's just personal preference though, excited to see how the photographic grey will look once No.4 returns from Aberystwyth.
Oh and nice Video btw!
Tom
Peter Sam's one of my favorites too.
12:03 I agree same case with sir handel rusty and duncan.
The closest we’re getting to a sodor’s finest on Peter Sam
The way you describe Peter Sam sounds exactly like me. I see good in people even if they’re bad. I always believe in what I hear 1st. I always do my work without whining sometimes.
I always try to find the good in people too
I've been waiting all week for this banger as always
Now that I think about it, Sir Handel and Peter Sam are basically the Susie and Ralsei of Thomas and Friends.
Well, that video is so great. I didn't know you watch Fireman Sam CGI too. Awesome. Thanks for the reminder of Peter Sam being gullible as part of who he is. I'II keep it in mind when making stories around him. Seems that it's what he shared in common with Paxton besides both voiced by Steven Kynman.
I LOVE YOU PETER SAM AND YOU ARE SO SPECHEAIL
Thank For the Story Video 📖🙊🤯🚂🚃🌟🥇🏆😇🙏🏿🕊️✝️💟☮️🛐♾️🤗👍🛡️👑💖💝💞⚔️🤍🌟🥇🏆
Funny how this one video has really gotten me to appreciate the lad that would sing like a merry little school boy when he's given more work
I love both Peter Sam and Sir Handel not just because of the balance, but also because I love both of their blue and green colors all because they're cool colors both dudes and dudettes!! Also, I thought both Peter Sams would just crash into each other at the end of the video there but too bad they didn't though because man that just would've been super duper hilarious lol!!
I love how he sings the song peter Sam actually sings
I just finished finals so i had time to watch this finally and I must say i agree i honestly feel if a skarloey railway spinoff existed Peter Sam should be the title character cause like Thomas and Percy he's a young character people can relate to.
Oh fun fact he pretty much was the season 4 main character going off screentime and lead roles.
awesome video
Love the vid man, your videos are great and I was wondering if you could do a video about season 12 (aka the weirdest season in my opinion) all the characters that ended in that season, the cgi faces on the models, it was like no other
Peter sam: i am peter sam i am runing this line i am peter sam i am runing this line i am peter sam i am runing this line
what Fun!
Peter Samuel Adams
Great video!
Quick question, what are your thoughts on The Magic Lamp as an episode?
Loved it man, if you ever look back at the boy again just ask and I can give you a bit more of the back ground of the area he was built, and sorry but had to laugh that you pronounced it stroke but the local lad was my favourite long before I knew he was and love to see his love, plus I'm sure you see the same thing with Luke but a lot of his personality is very much like the local attitude here just made kid friendly
Nice to see someone give my baby boy some attention
Peter Sam is one of my favorite Narrow gauge engines along with Duke, Rusty and Skarloey I love his kind personality and I love his little song 🎵 he sings my favorite episodes are definitely Peter Sam and the refreshment lady and Special Funnel thanks for sharing this great video of my favorite narrow gauge engine 👍❤️🚂
Peter Sam is pretty underrated imo
21:47 mr bean
7:27 Henry has Gordon’s face.
I heard someone called Peter Sam
Pee pee Sam on a RUclips and now that’s why I call him😅
Imagine buying locomotives for only 25 dollars each. The SKR must have had an absolute steal.
He may not be my favorite overall character, Peter Sam is definitely my favorite narrow gauge engine, how can anyone not love him?
14:52 if only they've remembered the lamp -_-
Peter sam is also my most favourite character
17:12 I've always thought that Steven Kynman's Peter Sam sounded more like Charlie in Fireman Sam.
I might need to write an Aeg episode where Peter Sam tells the biggest adventure club the story of Proteus
I mean Peter Sam does see the good in sir handle we’ve seen him with Peter Sam on the mid sodor he looked pretty happy on his old line
I mean we do see victor leave the steam works a second time when Kevin gets stuck in the snow and he goes out and try’s to find him
I think Peter Sam is definitely underrated as skarloy nd rehnaous got all the credit
Finally I’ve found another one
Peter sams funnel is cool
7:27 unrelated, but someone fucked up here, and gave Henry Gordon’s face
Tbh Sir Handel would suit more the role than Peter Sam in the magic lamp
THE [SPUNK] OF [DUNCAN]
18:57 smudger!!
We aren't gonna talk about how he was named "Edward Thomas"? 🤨
*[**2:48**]*
Funny how he shares the name of two North Western locomotives.
You should make an OC using Peter Sam
Peter Sam is red in the Railway Series, but he was coloured green in the show
My top ten characters are Henry, Peter Sam, Edward, Toby, Duncan, Mike, BoCo, Douglas, Paxton and Rosie.
Also when is The Unlikely Fandom Documentary coming out?
Do one of Duck and Duncan too
Griffin Wilkinson
Noice
Anyone else notice Mr Bean Animated Series theme playing in the background for the intro?
Do please make more character analysis.
For the main OG 11 engines and other OGs like Daisy, Mavis, Bill, Ben, Boco, Diesel.
Later Model characters like Emily, Salty, Harvey, Murdoch, Arthur, Fergus
Non engines like Bertie, Terence, Harold, Trevor, Elizabeth etc
Plus Jack and the pack.
I hv no deep understanding of characters beyond S7 TBH.
In my opinion though later CGI seasons were like kind of the revival era of Disney, just like the case with the Disney Renaissance being so unique and unforgettable so is classic Thomas S1 to S7.
So basically what yer tryin’ ta say here is; Peter Sam and Sir Handel have the Homer and Flanders dynamic?
I also like Peter Sam /Edward Thomas ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
8:40 Nono. There he is. Behind the people. Can’t you see him? He’s right there. Right in between rheneas and sir handle. He’s there. Don’t you see his name written in gold and his number 4?
Peter Sam and sir Handel are the best skarloey railway engines
My fav is
1. Edward
2. Toby
But Peter Sam i would say will come at No. 3. With Rusty and Rheneas close behind.
All 5 r real good characters.
Would love to see u rank the Characters like u ranked the engine themes. I keep watching that video BTW. ❤
My personal top 10 would be
1. Edward
2. Toby
3. Peter Sam
4. Rheneas
5. Rusty
6. Salty
7. Mavis
8. Percy
9. Boco
10. Toad
Mr bean music
you should make a video ab out neville (i know he has low screentime but please)
Mr bean cartoon music 🎶 🎵 🙌 👌 ❤️ ♥️
Is that sir handles face on dukes model ? 15:24
Remind Father Ted to watch his language
The Peter Sam memes are literally r/DraketheType I love it
Peter Sam how I would put it is a innocent little child and gets taken advantage of by falcon and don’t know but still sticks with him cause he’s one like a brother and one of the last engines of the mid sodor
Emily is my favourite character
Pepe Sam
